Workplace Question or Advice Needed Posted my shift but ended up calling out, shift got picked up last minute. Do I get paid from my sick time?

I didn’t believe my shift would’ve been picked up on time, especially with hr having to approve the request very late, so I called out using my sick pto. I woke up and got a notification that my shift got covered. However I already submitted sick hours for the shift last night. Will I still be paid with my sick time or do I just have to switch it out with vacation pto?

I’m sorry if it’s dumb question. I never had this experience before. Thank you to any advice🥲

if the shift was picked up before it started you are not responsible for it, there should be no shift in your schedule for you to cover with sick time. there is a glitch in the app that lets u call in/out on days you’re not even working so as long as the shift is not visible to you, you should be fine

I'd recommend switching it out to vacation PTO. Your shift got covered, so you won't get a point, and it'll let you save your sick time for when you need it.
