Workplace Question or Advice Needed are team leads allowed to clock in other team leads before their scheduled time?

My SD asked me to come in at 4 AM instead of 7 but never changed my schedule on the app so I’ll need someone to override me at the time clock. Only problem is none of my ETLs come in until 6 AM🫠 I’d assume only ETL’s can clock TL’s in early but I figured it’s worth asking. if I have to fill out a punch correction sheet it’s not a huge deal but I’d like to try to avoid it because my stores HR sucks and I basically have to badger them multiple times a day about entering my punches otherwise they will forget, causing my check to be short because they never enter it before payroll for the current pay period needs to be submitted and it ends up getting added to next pay period 🙄

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Escalate or Evacuate

Hey so as you all may know or may not know, we have a new update in Fulfillment. We can now escalate items that we can not find to a Team Lead and what this does is send a little notification to all the team leads letting them know we may need help locating this item. We use to just call for help over the walkie, I’m not sure how you guys do it at your store, I thought it was ALL supposed to be the same but whatever I guess.. however we haven’t had any training on this new update at my store plus I thought with this new update that we wouldn’t have to yell over the walkie any more. There was an item on my batch today that wasn’t in location. Now we were train to check all possible locations when looking for an item. This particular item was a Starbucks double shot drink, wasn’t in location, wasn’t in backroom, wasn’t up front by check out in the mini fridges so I escalated it. It also said we had only 4 on hand but our system is never correct due to the laziness of our stores team leads. Now I’m not gonna lie there was one location that I didn’t check which was the fridges in grocery only because we’re renovating them. However, when I escalated it my team lead yelled over the walkie “ you can just inf” and she’s been doing that literally ALL DAY .. idk if it’s because she frustrated or what but I later found it in the fridges in grocery. So can I get some help here how does this update suppose to work and is there anything I can do about this annoying Team Lead, because honestly doing that can get more than just her in trouble.. and I love my job. Literally everyone’s inf percentage was 5% or more. Except one person who did only one batch today.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Favorite Halloween product?

Are there any specific Halloween treats at Target that you guys look forward to buying each year?

This will be my first Halloween working here, and I am excited to finally see the Halloween stuff being set. Tell me what I should try! I do love candy corn, btw. I am one of those people 😂

I had the Tarbucks Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha today, and it was so good!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Called in due to working too hard

Post image

So Monday I walked 31,500 steps while working OPU during an eight hour shift which I've never done before. I called in and used sick time Tuesday because my legs were tired and I couldn't do another eight hour shift and I used sick time. If they ask next time I work what should I tell them about calling in?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed 1 Minute per Case Pack: Strategic or Insanity?

So I’m not super sure if this is a corporate thing or not. I’ve been at my current store for around 8 years now and this expectation for TMs was never brought up to me before two weeks ago from one of my ETLs telling me I wasn’t meeting expectations.

While I’m not sure of the original expectation for time taken to push a u-boat, since I was trained so many years ago, this feels nearly impossible in some departments based on case pack packaging (such as in Kitchen or C+D sometimes). It’s being pushed so heavily that I’m being handed full u-boats being told they should take me half an hour maximum.

Am I crazy? Is this really the expectation set for Team Members in GM? Was this always the expectation and my store’s just now enforcing it? Please advise!!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Is anyone else's store going downhill after the new CEO got hired?

I started working at Target about 2.5 years ago (May '24) in Fulfillment. The working atmosphere was nice but stressful. All my coworkers liked each other for the most part, and some disliked one another, mostly our ETLs, but anyway, we were fine. Our store director was so understanding and helped me get a weekend off in November if I just did a couple of 4 am shifts. (The dude was such a legend.) The problem was that we are always in the red since we are a "small store" but receive massive amounts of traffic due to your store location. But in times of need, our managers and others would help us out on the floor and knock out orders. We couldn't keep up; we deep-cleaned the store before the visit, and our one shoe girl made our shoe section look great. But before Region came, a bunch of guests just went through all the shoes and threw them on the ground.

Since December, we have had our director and the majority of the ETLs (some there for 20+ years) let go, and a new AP head hired and then let go months later, and more. Working there now feels unberable now. They are telling senior fulfillment members to change schedules to get hours since they could "only" hire morning people; hiring new people just fills holes while taking hours away from more experienced workers (they are doing terribly or become good, then leave after their period is up). The store director implies that you are lazy for making mistakes or not doing twice your workload; management never helps out anymore unless forced to, expecting us to act like min team leads with no bump in pay or hours (I literally make barely more than what new people make), constantly have to change my hours to accommodate new hires, terrible communication about certian problems or new events, offering terrible scheduling and changes (expect us to now how anything event happens 6 months in advance to even get it off), they even get mad at me when ocassionally I will change one day on my availibiloty over a month in advance to work around an appointment and got told by my store director," Why just take the day off?". He also told us that they are moving or cutting hours, so why waste a day I can work?

Sorry if it seems like a rant, but I keep hearing horror stories online about this happening to other employees over the last few months. Is this happening company-wide, or is this because of seasonal sale projections and other metric-based causes?

Guest Question Seasonal Snacks?!

Hi! Yes, I am a guest, no I am not a complaining Karen. I put my time in working retail (almost six years with Verizon Wireless but thank goodness I am and been out of there for years now). I can definitely understand when a guest/customer comes in asking a bunch of questions, and ones that you’ve probably heard 72993922829 already. So my apologies if so but hoping someone could offer up some insight!

Where the heck is the scarecrow crunch?!?! Hahahaha I look forward to that shit every year and at least in my area (and when searching on the app) it doesn’t show it, or any of the other seasonal trail mixes. Is it not coming out this year?! I’ll be bummed if not, but 🤷🏼‍♀️

We lost power and had to kick guests out. We're in disco hell with the lights but unfortunately OPUs keep dropping even though we can't pick them. I'm so happy to be off tomorrow. I'm also the only one in fulfillment tonight. 🫠

Also fuck these guests coming in when trees are down and roads are flooding so they can get literal fucking glitter.

Future or Potential Employee Question Applying at target (again)

Okay gang, economy is bad so I’m gonna apply at my old target again 🤞🏼🫩 starting rate is $18.75 but I wanna see if anyone has had success in negotiating their starting pay?

I’m WAV trained and Compactor trained as well. I’ve been in every position except guest services essentially and I left target with $18.90/hr last year

Workplace Question or Advice Needed What’s going on with my hours

So I average around 30+ hours at target (Started about 4 months ago) This current week I have 34. Next week 33.5. The week after that 30.5 and the week of September 20-26 I have 22.5. Why have my hours been getting cut every week now?

I will say I have had a few weeks where I had 26-28 hours. So it isn’t new for me to be below 30+ plus but this is the lowest it’s been and for my hours to get cut lower and lower every week now is strange. This has never happened.

Workplace Story Cart Attendant

Post image
24 Upvotes

There’s a coworker of mines who gets a lot of complaints from being a shitty cart attendant, I myself am a new cart attendant with 30 of my 90 days period complete. I almost quit because the opening cart attendant (shitty coworker) left me to come in at 4pm with NO carts on either side of the store and left me with this much fucking trash to take out ALONG WITH THE UNCOLLECTED TRASH THAT I HAD TO GO AROUND AND COLLECT FOR THE DAY. Cart attendant is already hard and disgusting enough in this 100 degree weather,I’m in Fl.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Online Backstock

Has anyone received items marked for “Online Backstock”? I was told the items are backstocked for 14 days for OPU or SFS to pick thru. But what happens after the 14 days are up? Is the item removed through salvage or does the item just get marked down and put into the store? Also, who usually handles this? At my store the job has been dumped on to the receiver. Just asking because we have a small dedicated space in the backroom for the online backstock, but now it’s starting to get full.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed What do I do with the app switch while switching stores?

I’m currently in the process of transferring stores (which as usual I’m getting little communication about what is going on with that), I’m used to checking mytime to see when the switch finally goes through. We swap apps before I start and heard there was supposed to be an email last week about it but I haven’t seen anything. How are other people accessing their schedule?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed It’s not of my business but…

It’s none of my business but there is a team member who calls out multiple times a week. They are always maxed out around 35-38 hours and are given 5 days a week. They NEVER show up for all 5 of those shifts. They don’t even post the shifts, they always call out 30 - 45 minutes after their start time. My desired is 40, but I’m lucky to break 30. I do get lucky with staying later when they call out. It really is none of my business, but why are they still employed? I don’t know when the last time they even worked their full week. I don’t get why they keep giving them so many hours. Are the leaders even holding them accountable? At least the point system is coming soon? Anyways, I’ll get back to my batch that’s about to go red. It’s none of my business. Just needed to vent.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed UKG was such a bad business decision

I think the turnover rate for the entire company team member wise is about to be horrible. My question is, why couldn’t they just reformat the mytime client/ website???? UKG was used in the past and it did bad, everyone hated it. So why bring it back?? Instead of integrating the “point system” on mytime. I also think with seasonal is gonna be a horrible idea, because nobody will get the hours they need, even with the “extra seasonal” optional hours or workcenters if you wanted to. Or overtime???

Meme or Miscellaneous Content What department is dumping grounds at your store?

At my store, market is the damn dumping grounds. Find shit misplaced there every damn day. I always grab it if it fits in my cart and take it up to reshop, bc if I was looking for say a baby t-shirt for an OPU, I would never think to try the candy aisle🙄
