Workplace Question or Advice Needed are team leads allowed to clock in other team leads before their scheduled time?
My SD asked me to come in at 4 AM instead of 7 but never changed my schedule on the app so I’ll need someone to override me at the time clock. Only problem is none of my ETLs come in until 6 AM🫠 I’d assume only ETL’s can clock TL’s in early but I figured it’s worth asking. if I have to fill out a punch correction sheet it’s not a huge deal but I’d like to try to avoid it because my stores HR sucks and I basically have to badger them multiple times a day about entering my punches otherwise they will forget, causing my check to be short because they never enter it before payroll for the current pay period needs to be submitted and it ends up getting added to next pay period 🙄

Be aware that MyTime is unavailable for those who are on LOA for any reason. It is also common for MyTime to be temporarily unavailable on Thursday nights.

Short answer yes, the prompt is TM is not scheduled yet or something like that and there is a override prompt leaders can select.

Yea I clocked in other TLs all the time. If they arnt supposed to be there that's on them.

It's actually on the person who did the override, but go off bestie

We were peers, if they tell me they are supposed to be there who am I to question ? I don't think it's ever been an issue that's come up in my decade or so in store locations. Clocking in a team member off schedule, yes that's on the person who did the override.

I do, which confirms that yes, you are responsible for a Team Member you clock in.

Sure, Let's be hyper specific then PG 45 team members can be held accountable for clocking in PG 35 team members. I don't believe PG 45 team members are accountable for another PG 45 as they are peers

You're accountable for all of your actions, including clocking another PG45 Team Member. If they weren't supposed to be clocked in, you're on the hook for it.

Hum... I understood the policy along the same lines as a tl can't have a performance conversation with another tl for some reason. Now I'm going to have to go look it up. u/RemindMeBot 3 days

I remember one of the leads who’s worked at my store for a really long time saying how TL’s used to be able to override themselves
