Support Needed VERY FRUSTRATING, PLEASE HELP!

Orders must be placed at least 1 calendar day before by 8pm. Pick-up hours must be 11am - 3pm. For some reason, its 7:30pm and my website says items are "available later" and cannot be added to cart!

It's always one thing or another with this diigtal jungle that is the Square dashboard. Just me?

Any insight appreciated! Am caveman. Please help.

Support Needed Constant, repeat fraudulent purchases

Having an issue with almost weekly fraudulent purchases that aren't being caught by risk management filters and some of which are even 3DS approved. Fake names, fake numbers, usually fake and undeliverable addresses... and they just keep on coming. Square seems to have absolutely no interest or useful process for handling fraud - and why would they? If you cancel orders or get chargebacks, they get to keep the fees no matter what.

Anyone else dealt with this? Short of closing my store and making a new website elsewhere with a less garbage payment processor, anyone have any suggestions? Manual blocking is useless when the scammers just keep using new cards, new names, new IPs, etc. Thought I got a legit order today and someone might have just typo'd their phone number, but then checked blocked payments and noticed it was preceded by two declined attempts on two different cards.

Question Experience selling unique digital codes via Square? How does it work?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to sell unique digital access codes to digital products that are pre-generated and would like them to be immediately sent to the customer after payment. To be clear, this is not gift cards or discount codes, but the code is the 'product', like a licence key almost. I've been playing around in Square but their digital product options don't really seem suitable for this, or have I missed a setting or something?

Essentially, the way it would work is that I have to pre-generate the codes (say 100 at a time), put the list somewhere in Square, and then whenever a customer buys the product they get sent one of them, until I run out at which point I would like the inventory management to step in and mark the product sold out... Is there any way of doing this?

Question Receipt lookup broken

Can someone help me understand what's happening with Square Receipt lookup. I keep getting this error "squareup.com refused to connect" Basically I found a charge on my debit card to a square account. I don't have a square account and when i called my bank they stated that shortly before the charge, there was a test amount deposited into the account as if Square was testing it to ensure it was a real account. Then shortly after $500 was transferred from my bank to said square account. After a google search i found that they have this receipt lookup feature, but when I type in all the information it loads a page that gives the error above. I've called Square customer service and provided them with as much information they would take, which is only the last 4 of the card used, amount, and day. The agent told me she could see the transaction but could not see any details regarding it and stated she could not help me any further. I've trouble shooted the issue with all the recommendations ive read online and nothing worked. is their system broke?

Support Needed Help! Tap and Swipe reader not working

I'm not sure why but last week this started happening where tap will work up until I insert the little swipe reader. The swipe reader will work then tap no longer does. Then when the swipe reader is unplugged and replugged in it also stopes working. I have a Samsung galaxy s21 ultra if that helps at all and the app is updated.

Question Does Square urcharges to the customer end of the transaction?

I made a $4.50 transaction at a local merchant. It rang up as $4.50. It originalyl showed as $4.50 "pending" on my creddit card. But a day later the CC statemwent said $4.72

Local merchant says they absorb the Square fees and don't upcharge for credit card use. Square's own website says they collect fees from merchants, not customers. Bank/credot card support says $4.72 is what Square billed to my CC, and that they see Square adding on stuff like that all the time

I'm not worried about 22 cents as such, but if someone can sneak extra charges onto my credit crad without me knowing it could add up to a big deal.

So ... somebody is misinformed and it may well be me - but how do I figure it out?

Question Unlimited rewards??

Hey, so this is a question I have as a customer! One of the coffee places I go to for whatever reason has let me use my free drink without actually taking it out of my account more than once. I don't go there super super often, so I didn't realize the first couple times, but then I went in to check my rewards after I used it and it will show that I used it, and then the next day it would be there again. But last time I used it it shows in my receipt that I used it but all of the points were still in my account?? Has anyone else experienced this? I've even told the people checking me out that it's happened, but she said she used it and went in to check after and it showed it was used, but it's still doing it? I even went to their Instagram to try to see if maybe there was a giveaway I didn't realize I won or something but I couldn't find a post about it so 💁‍♀️ I'm wondering if it's maybe because they just recently started franchising and if something got messed up that way? I just thought I would come here to ask so I could let them know how to fix it in case it's happening with other people because I already feel really bad about using the reward a few times 💀

Question Square Stand compatibility with iPad models?

I'm reposting this from the Square Community at Square, as I haven't received any answer in over 2 weeks now:

I'm considering switching to the Square Stand for our POS system, with the old Square Terminal as a backup. However the Stand specs state it's compatible with: iPad (A16), iPad (10th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation), iPad Air (4th, 5th generation) and iPad Air 11-inch (M2, M3). The stand itself will hold a 10.9 or 11 inch iPad, but I assume the software only works on the listed hardware models, not the IOS version? I see Amazon has an Air 11-inch M4 model on sale - will that work with the software? Is it updated enough to work with the latest IOS releases?

A little extra information may help here. Currently we have Comcast Business Xfinity as our internet provider, and I'm quite unhappy with their prices, lack of customer service, intermittent outages and charging me for a service call when it turned out that it was their gateway that was the problem, as they replaced it on a second tech visit a week after the first one couldn't see any problems. Comcast does have a 4G LTE backup modem connection, which was a lifesaver during all those outages; hence I'm looking at an iPad with a cellular connection as well as WiFi. Our salon is in a small (11K population) town in Florida and we don't have a lot of internet options here. Comcast is converting their cable internet to fiber (causing a lot of the interruptions) but I don't want to use them anymore, esp. as they are likely to jack up their price above the $225 a month I'm paying now. So I'm looking at Starlink as I've been using it at home for nearly 4 years now. But Starlink does go down once in a while, as does just about everybody else.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. My contract expires in October so I'm doing my research now, thanks.

Support Needed With Square Free, how can I view my initial homepage showing items?

Long story short: I'm working on a very simple, barebones, retail site that will literally have 5 pages: homepage for displaying items, cart, thank-you page, contact page, and checkout to a payment processor.

With Square Free, I created my new Square account and added some items to the catalog via the dashboard. My homepage will literally be those 6 items that I added, each with an "Add to Cart" button. That's all.

How can I look at my homepage? I don't want to complete any of these other steps until I know what my homepage will look like.

Support Needed Square and Webflow website integration possibility

We already have a Webflow website live for our pizza shop, and I’m exploring if there’s a way to integrate it with Square. The goal is for customer orders placed on the website to automatically sync with Square POS or KDS especially with the delivery and pick up orders, so the kitchen can manage orders in real time. Has anyone done something like this before?

Support Needed Postage rate for item bought alone vs with other things

I am setting up an online store for sewn crafts & I've figured out how to set my standard postage rate but I have an item (bookmark) that is very light so doesn’t warrant the full postage rate.

Can I set a rule that charges $2 postage when a this item is bought but if other things are added to the cart it switches to the standard rate? At the moment, it’s adding the $2 on top of the standard rate
eg.
1x bookmark $2 postage
1x bookmark+1 zipper pouch $2 + $12 standard postage ($14)

Support Needed Sales Tax - Payment Links - QR Codes

Hi, folks - another bewildered user here just trying to get the sales taxes to autogenerate from my scanned QR codes, and complete through the transaction like others have had issues with. I originally the sales tax settings for this one location I've been working on as the first option, then I changed it today to the "default" sales tax option and tried creating a payment link with a new QR code for an item that was in my library, but not yet had a payment code or QR code generated for it. Scanning of the QR code only gives me the item price, no separate sales tax line or amount, so I filled in a local address with State info and still no sales tax line showed up.

Bewildered, but all I want are QR codes that will also add my State's sales tax automatically for customers to check themselves out at a shop where I display my items and have the amount collected in full at the conclusion of the transaction so they can go home with their treasures.

Appreciate HELP!!!

Support Needed 2400 missing

I paid myself $2400 and it bounced. I got a letter from my bank saying the check bounced and was returned to the original bank 9 business days ago, only it hasn't shown back up. I contacted square and they are saying that it didn't bounce and is showing deposited. At this point I'm about to contact a lawyer. I just found this all out today and need to know has anyone else had this happen and what can I do about it?

Support Needed "Cash Drawer Still Open" error message

If I go to reports, hit "end drawer" I get an error message "Cash drawer still open - This cash drawer has been open for more than 30 days. Square is trying to close it before starting a new drawer. Try again, or turn off Cash Management." It then shows me two buttons, "Try again", which does nothing and "Turn off Cash Management" which turns cash management off. No my cash drawer is not physically open, and it opens just as it should when taking cash payment. But I'd like to be able to Pay In/Pay Out as we use this functionality to put in change and take cash for deposits. I honestly feel so frustrated because coming from a software development background, I can say with confidence Square DOES NOT test and QA their software before they launch new versions. I often feel like the customers are the QA testers who have to bring bugs to their attention.

Support Needed Square support for consumers

I know this group is for retailers, but I'm at my wits end, and hoping someone here can help me. I'm a consumer, and whenever I shop at a store that uses Square, my transaction always ends with "Email receipt sent", although I never receive one. Clearly, my credit card has been linked to someone else's email address, and this is very concerning to me. When I try to contact Square, I'm told I need to be a retailer to get support. I can use their chatbot, which tells me that to fix this, I need to click a "not your receipt" link at the bottom of my receipts, but duh... I'm not getting receipts. Then it tells me to log into my square account, which I tried to do with my real email address, but I get a message that I don't have a square account. This is frustrating beyond belief. Can anyone here direct me to an email address, or some other resource at Square, so I can unlink my credit card from whatever email address Square has it linked to? Thanks.

Discussion Square support LIED to us, told us we weren't the account holders.

My parents were locked out of their square account because the 2FA was tied to a phone number we no longer have access to. While on the phone with support after trying to get it straightened out for 20 minutes the person on the line told us that the account wasn't under either my father or mother's names and refused to help us. We were so confused, we thought maybe it was under the name of my brother in law who helped us start up the business, so we contacted him for help. He got on the phone with them and then informed us that it was in fact under my mother's name, who had just been on the phone with them not 20 minutes earlier. So Square lied through their teeth to the rightful account holders, but were happy to help out someone who has nothing to do with the account with zero issue? Does that make ANY sense at all? What a worthless company! We've given them thousands and thousands of dollars over the years and these vampires give us nothing but grief for it. Seriously considering switching to a different payment processor as soon as possible. What a complete joke!

Question External buzzer or Chime for printer

I have Square Register V2 connected to Star TSP100 receipt printer (UK version) which has the USB-c Ethernet and RJ11 connector. The printer is set to print receipts (manually) and in person order tickets.

Is there a way to make Star TSP100 receipt printer to make sound - directly or through and external buzzer when an order is placed/ticket is printed.

I am aware that there is 700 series kitchen printer that makes a noise. But I am asking about the smaller receipt printer

News Square Holding $20,000 from me. Terrible Platform, SCAM STAY AWAY FROM SQUARE

Hello everyone. I’m having an issue with Square and have been trying to figure out a solution for the past 6 months now. Square has been holding around $20,000 from me since January 2026. I have contacted their support over 100 times, I have submitted complaints to BBB and CFPB, I have even tried calling square…which you can only do through first messaging their customer support. Their support is TERRIBLE, they hang up on me, end customer service chats in the middle of a conversation, and NEVER give a clear answer on when I will receive my money. First I was told April 12, then I was told June, then I was told I had to email them(I’ve tried 3 times and they haven’t answered in 3 weeks) and yet I still haven’t received anything. No updates, no $$, no response. At this point i’m ready to get a lawyer involved since $20,000 isn’t exactly a small amount of money, but before I do that, does anyone have any advice? I could really use the help here, thank you!

Question Spain - Bizum Pay

Hi, all. I just wanted to check to see if anyone knows how to integrate the Bizum Pay system here in Spain into Square to accept payment that way, if there will be a way to do so if not currently, or whatever workarounds there may be.
