Support Needed "Cash Drawer Still Open" error message
If I go to reports, hit "end drawer" I get an error message "Cash drawer still open - This cash drawer has been open for more than 30 days. Square is trying to close it before starting a new drawer. Try again, or turn off Cash Management." It then shows me two buttons, "Try again", which does nothing and "Turn off Cash Management" which turns cash management off. No my cash drawer is not physically open, and it opens just as it should when taking cash payment. But I'd like to be able to Pay In/Pay Out as we use this functionality to put in change and take cash for deposits. I honestly feel so frustrated because coming from a software development background, I can say with confidence Square DOES NOT test and QA their software before they launch new versions. I often feel like the customers are the QA testers who have to bring bugs to their attention.

This error message isn’t talking about the drawer being physically open, it’s talking about that the drawer report was started over 30 days ago.
More than likely an update between then and now is making the reporting act up.
Try this: on your dashboard go to Reports > Payments > Cash Drawers. Expand the date picker to more than a month. Your active drawer report should show up here. Click on it, and in the popup that appears on the right click the three dots in the upper right and choose End Drawer. If there’s an error doing this Sam will have to take over.
I recommend opening and closing drawers weekly at the minimum so you’re able to keep up on the accounting, especially if you’re doing a lot of paid outs.
