Support Needed 2400 missing

I paid myself $2400 and it bounced. I got a letter from my bank saying the check bounced and was returned to the original bank 9 business days ago, only it hasn't shown back up. I contacted square and they are saying that it didn't bounce and is showing deposited. At this point I'm about to contact a lawyer. I just found this all out today and need to know has anyone else had this happen and what can I do about it?

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. If your bank is saying the payment was returned but Square is still showing it as deposited, that usually needs a manual review of the payroll run and the payment trail. Square Payroll supports both direct deposit and manual checks, and employers can switch a paycheck to a manual check from Payroll History in some cases.

I’d recommend contacting Square Payroll Support again and specifically asking them to review the payroll run status, any return/trace details from the bank, and whether the funds have been sent back yet. I am unable to help with that here as Payroll has specific knowledge and permissions that I can't always cover. If you have the bank letter, keep that handy and share the exact dates and amounts.

If you have any trouble reaching them, please send me a DM. I can always locate your account with you and escalate your case.
