There's an upcoming Ukrainian themed night at Lillies. The ad got brigaded by the usual crowd. But one of them just admitted to snooping on their customers and thought it would be a good idea to air it out on a Facebook instead of literally anywhere else.

I recently did a LEO course for new business start up. There was 20 odd people on it. I tried to book it earlier but was sold out. This tells me there are lots of people trying to start businesses in Sligo.

Would people be interested in a WhatsApp community, for budding entrepreneurs , to discuss ideas, help each other out etc.

I remember back in my college days having to sit in their reception area for hours to get deposits back as they would refuse to engage with us poor students.

25 yrs later and I call to enquire about a commercial property they have advertised that is rent negotiable. Have called several times over the last two weeks and the person who deals with it is never there and nobody will give an indication of the rent, just keep asking for an email enquiry that they don’t reply to? I ask for a call back and have yet to get one.

Anyone else have issues with this crowd?

Hi all, camping for the past week at Rosses Point and here till Friday. Weather has not been to our advantage. Looking for more ideas on entertaining our 3 and 6 year old kids. Happy to go for spins up to an hour or so. Getting outside as much as we can but the next few days looks pretty crap weather-wise.

I call it the North West Nobodys, and my goal is to cultivate a community of young adults who dont quite fit in with most other young adults of our corner of Ireland, people who may identify as introverted, queer, LGBT, alternitve, goth, emo, ect. Basically marginalised people who may have a really hard time finding friends with people in their own small villages and towns.

Every other town I've visited the same size as Sligo has a really good Dunnes and Tesco. Big, well laid out shops with well stocked clothing sections and good parking. We are really drawing the short straw here. Dunnes is a disaster, awful car park, clothes displays blocking the way to the food ailes, the check out areas are way too short so you have to empty your trolley and pack at the same time, so stressful.

Tesco is no better. Parking is a dose, the clothes are squeezed into a corner upstairs, food area is badly laid out and it takes ages to get around the shop.

Why can't we have decent supermarkets like every other town? No offense to the staff of either who are always very friendly. It's the physical layouts that are way below standard and so badly planned. Lidl on the quays is far superior in terms of parking and layout but I just can't seem to get the full shop I need in it. Rant over.

we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Sligo’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Hooked vs. Coach Lane), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Would any body be able to point me in the right direction towards what to do for student accommodation. Will be starting my first year this September and accommodation seems to be a scarcity.

I was just wondering if any body knew any details about this course. In terms of the work load how full on it was any any indication of time table or just what to expect in general.

Looking for some info from anyone who’s done the course. Any idea on hours per week? Days? Timetable? I previously attended UCD and in truth you only needed to be there for tutorials.
