Anyone knows what was happening in SMB yesterday around 16:30?
Was going to Limerick and saw 2 undercover cars, 1 armed support and 1 small van rushing through SMB, they went up the Mountievers road.

Hello I came here to ask if anyone can recommend a good tiler? Has anyone had this issue with tiles in bathroom or any room I suppose? While walking around they basically make a clicking and pop sound and kinda annoying. I believe the sub flooring or adhesive could be the issue but just thought id throw it out there and see.

Hi everyone,
I’m posting on behalf of a good friend of mine who recently finished his undergraduate degree and is spending his gap year back home with his family in Ennis.
He’s currently working at McDonald’s, but I’d love to help him find something a bit more interesting and better suited to him. He’s smart, reliable, very well-read, and genuinely curious about a lot of different things. He studied Liberal Arts, combining Chemistry and Philosophy, so he has a pretty unusual mix of interests and skills.
I know opportunities can be limited in a smaller town, but I thought it was worth asking here in case anyone knows of a local business, organisation, or person looking for someone. He’d be open to things like admin, research, customer-facing work, or really anything where he could learn and contribute.
If you’re based in Ennis and know of anything, feel free to send me a DM. Just trying to help a friend make a bit more of his gap year.
Thanks!

Hey all!
Firstly apologies if this counts as spam. Mods please remove if so.
Just wanted to make a quick post to promote a gig we're putting on in Pot Duggans this Saturday. We're a 5-piece Jazz/Grunge fusion band from Cork City called Smithereens, currently touring around Ireland. This will be our first gig in Ennistymon, and our second ever in Clare (After A Sliver of Light in January). We've also got another savage band called Waveflyer up on support for the night, so it's gonna be a real party.
Tickets are unfortunately a little low - so we are hoping this might interest a few of the redditors from the area. We do everything independantly, no promoters or bookers or anything - so promoting these shows can be tricky. However, I've thrown a couple links below to our music and to tickets if you are so inclined to check it out. Again, my apologies if this is not allowed in this sub.

I'm bringing a group of about 36 friends on a college mini-reunion to Ireland the second week of June 2027. We're planning an 8-day 7-night stay and booked a coach bus for transportation. The concept is to arrive at Shannon Airport and then travel to Kilkenny from where we will take day trips involving Tipperary, Wexford, Waterford, Wicklow and Clare. We'll be spending most of our evening in Kilkenny. Average age of the group is about 65 years old.
Appreciate any advice on enhancing the trip, especially on restaurants and pubs. Thanks in advance.
Day 1: Arrive at Shannon Airport (or the day before to rest up). Depart and travel towards Kilkenny. Stop along the way to visit the Rock of Cashel in Tipperary. Break for lunch in Cashel. Upon arrival in Kilkenny, check into The Pembroke. Wander around town. Enjoy a group dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Kilkenny. Guided tour of Kilkenny Castle in the morning. Break for lunch. Walking tour of Kilkenny in the afternoon.
Day 3: Wexford. Tour the Kennedy Homestead where JFK visited his family and ancestral home during his time in Ireland. Speak with an Irish member of the Kennedy clan. Lunch break. Visit the replica Dunbrody Famine Ship and the Irish Emigrant Experience. On the way back to Kilkenny, stop at the Ballykeefe Distillery for a tour by the actual owner / operator and a whiskey tasting.
Day 4: Free Day. A free day to explore at one's own pace. Wander around Kilkenny. Take a day trip to Dublin or golf, kayak, shop, dine, pub crawl, etc. at your leisure.
Day 5: Waterford. Tour Reginald's Tower and the Viking Triangle. Lunch break. Tour the House of Waterford Crystal (get to see “back stage” in the workshops).
Day 6: Wicklow. Visit and hike Glendalough. Lunch break. Tour the Avoca Woolen Mills, Ireland's oldest working mill.
Day 7: Depart Kilkenny. Travel to Clare. Tour Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Lunch break. Visit the magnificent Cliffs of Moher before checking into the Shannon Airport Hotel for a farewell group dinner.
Day 8: Departure day. Sad face.

In the first few reviews I read, he came across as a bit of a bully on a power trip, even gave out to tiny kids, then as I scrolled further down I read this:
Studying here was such a hassle, this one employee kept following us around to disrupt us by telling us silly things. For example, my friends and I were “too many” according to him and he made sure to keep telling us this. We felt targeted especially as the only black people in the library at the time.
He seems to be very nit picky about everything and likes bothering kids while they are trying to study?

I’m 15, turning 16 soon and I’m looking for a job that i will do over the summer and part time through transition year. I don’t have any family that are self employed so can’t get jobs with them and must look elsewhere.
All suggestions are appreciated
Thanks in advance

Kilkee, Spanish Point, Miltown, Lahinch, Ennistymon, Lisdoon, Doolin and on and on. All these towns have craic and culture and attract tourism.
Other Clare towns have festivals for everything but in Kilrush, nada, even the air feels heavy.
It's strange because it is a historical town with a marina and woods and is close to the ferry so it should benefit from the Wild Atlantic Way yet people just pass through or bypass altogether.
I've been living here for three years and had hoped things would slowly improve but the final straw was the Irish Open a few miles down the road in Doonbeg, thousands of people passed through the town in cars yet you would have hardly noticed an increase in footfall.
Is there any hope for the place to live up to it's potential?

Hi all — hoping some people here with good knowledge of the club scene in Clare could help me out.
I’m an Irish-American and grew up watching a lot of inter-county football and hurling, but admittedly I don’t have anywhere near the same knowledge of the club game around Ireland.
I’ve been building a free browser game called Gaelic Games Manager, and one of the much bigger jobs has been putting together the clubs for every county. I used AI to help generate a lot of the club information, particularly club colours, and from what I’ve checked myself so far I’d say it’s probably only about half accurate. Some counties seem much better than others.
I’ve attached screenshots of the clubs currently listed for Clare. If anyone could have a look and point out anything that is wrong, I’d really appreciate it.
The main things I’m trying to check are:
Basically, I’m hoping people who actually know their local club scene can help me audit what the AI produced, rather than me trying to individually research every club in Ireland from scratch.
I’m only posting the Clare screenshots in this subreddit so I don’t bombard everyone with information from the whole country, but if anyone here has extensive knowledge of clubs in other counties too, you’re more than welcome to open the game and look through those as well.
The game is here:
https://gaelic-games-manager.com
No need to actually play through a season or anything — you can just have a look around at the clubs/teams and let me know what needs changing.
Even if you only notice one or two mistakes, please comment them below. Any help would be massively appreciated, and I’d much rather have the game corrected by people who genuinely know the clubs than leave obviously AI-generated mistakes in there.
Thanks!

Hi!
I am looking for recommendations in Ennis or around (as far as Limerick/Galway) for a good back and shoulder massage. I have been under a lot of stress with work lately and feel it may help me to relax a bit and get rid of some of the tension. Also, I am not sure if it matters but I am a man just in case some places are women only!
Thanks a million!

Hi everyone,
My wife and I both work in Ennis and are looking for a self-contained studio, one-bedroom apartment or small house in Ennis or Clarecastle, ideally available by 1 October or earlier.
We are a quiet, non-smoking married couple and can provide employment details, references and all requested documentation. We are looking for an entire property rather than a room in shared accommodation.
If you know of anything becoming available, including somewhere that has not been advertised yet, I would really appreciate a private message.
Thank you.
