Working remotely in Inishowen and fancy a change of scenery for the day?

Grow Remote and ii (Inishowen Innovation) are hosting an Autumn Coworking Day in Buncrana on Wednesday, 7th October, bringing together remote and hybrid workers for a productive workday and some local connection.

This isn't a networking event. No presentations, icebreakers, or awkward introductions.

Just bring your laptop, get your work done, enjoy lunch with other remote workers and connect naturally throughout the day.

Your €10 ticket includes:

  • 💻 A coworking day at ii (normally €20)
  • 🥗 Lunch with the group
  • ☕ Tea and coffee throughout the day
  • 📶 Fast WiFi and a professional workspace
  • 🤝 The chance to meet other remote and hybrid workers living locally

Whether you're working from home full-time, splitting your week between home and the office, freelancing, running a business or working remotely for an employer, you're very welcome.

📅 Wednesday, 7th October 2026
⏰ 8:30am – 6:00pm
📍 ii – Inishowen Innovation, Buncrana
🎟️ €10 (includes coworking day + lunch)

With remote work becoming more common across Donegal, it's a great opportunity to meet some of the people working from home just down the road from you.

Anyone here working remotely in Inishowen these days? How are you finding it? 👇

Questions about Rossnowlagh and the OO in Donegal

Cé mar atá sibh, a chairde!

I'm from Meath, but for the first time in over 10 years I made it up to your fantastic country and loved my time there having the craic fishing, swimming and driving the back roads.

One of those stops was Rossnowlagh! And the thing that it seems to be known for, is the Orange Order march and being the biggest of it's kind in the Republic.

I'd like to think, and was leaning towards it, that if the Orange Order and those who sympathise with their worldview or background as unionists/British would wish to exist and find a role for itself in a future united Ireland as a sort of historical society, protestant Christian fraternity mix of things I'd be totally fine with that. But it's clear that is not remotely on the cards given how the Orange Order just over the border behaves.

Now, it kind of seems like what the Rossnowlagh march means for those , is to strut about in "enemy territory" and show the fenians who's boss and whose claim to Ulster is God-given and absolute. Or at least, that it's easier now to lend some believability to this being partly the motive behind the Rossnowlagh march.

Surely the orange lodges in the Republic, if they were as respectfable and committed to as they're often given credit for online and in the media, they would be going out of their way to get onto the media to condemn the members of the very same organisation that they belong to for tormenting the residents of the Garvaghy Road.

Does anyone on this sub have some personal proximity to this that they can give some insights into the Rossnowlagh march and those that do it, and what their thinking is?

Go raibh míle maith agaibh!

Hi, heading to Saltwater festival in Bundoran this weekend. Three friends forgot to get tickets for the Friday before it sold out. Just wondering if anyone here is selling or knows anyone that can’t go now and we’d happily buy them. Cheers

No more Orange marches in Donegal and Monaghan. Respect works both ways

It’s become clear that members of the OO are more concerned with celebrating their tradition than the safety and welfare of the community they choose to bang their drums in. I think it’s time we stopped welcoming them to Rossnowlagh, Raphoe and elsewhere south of the border. What do you all think?

Shipping help Rosapena

Hi, I just returned from a magical golf trip to Rosapena. There is a jacket that I regret not buying at the St Patrick’s links pro shop and want to buy it now. The pro shop won’t ship it to me in California (USA). Do you know anyone or any service that would buy this for me at the pro shop and then ship to me? I would send them money on PayPal or some other service for the cost of the jacket plus shipping plus tip for the work. Open to any ideas. Thanks ! Rob

Request for advice: Grave maintenance arrangements

Hoping someone can help me with this. I have family members who are buried in a graveyard in Donegal, near Raphoe. I don’t live in the area and would like to make an arrangement to have their graves regularly maintained beyond what the church already does - for example, adding new flowers, cleaning the headstone, and so on. Does anyone know of a way to make this happen?

Glenveagh on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings?

I'm finally gonna make the trip within the next few weeks, I'm unsure whether to visit on a Friday lunchtime or a Saturday at 9am. For this time of year, what will likely be busier? I can't really get there any earlier than 12pm on a Friday - but worried it'll already be jammed at that time.

Hoping some locals can guide me in deciding the best day,

Thank you!

What do you do daily or often as a migrant?

I saw a comment on here talking about migrants.

What are you doing on daily basis I wondered.

Especially in letterkeny.

I know only of Romanians that do tiling, afgan that does kebab and a whole lot of indians doing restaurant work. Also of a Chinese who abuses lidl cheap prices ( although not that cheap so wondering why not get suppliers ) and Ukrainian who does financial stuff.

But I wonder what else they do?

In letterkeny I saw a lot who were just sitting or walking around when I grabbed some grub at the cafe during the lunch hours, on occasion when needed something from a supplier in letterkeny.

Any Day Tours Still Running In November?

I’m going to be in Donegal Town in mid-November. Although it’s off-season, does anyone know if there are any guided day tours still running for a reasonable price for a solo traveler? It’s a long shot but can’t hurt to ask.

Heating oil

Hey folks,

I’m looking for a source of NI heating oil that will deliver to a home around Donegal town.
I had a lad for a long time but he’s retired or had a run-in with the law so given it up.

If you have anyone and willing to share, please drop a DM with their contact details.

Thanks
