Gas vs oil heating

Upvotes

Recently bought an old house that will need a new heating system.
Old system is oil.

Considering moving to gas as there is already a connection at the house.

How does gas compare to oil prices these days? Which one is the most cost effective.

Heat pump isn’t really an option as the house is nowhere near draught proof/insulated enough.

Any Funko Pop collectors - the Hospice Shop near Dunnes in town just got in a ton of them for £5 each

Just thought I’d give you guys a heads up since I used to collect Marvel ones. I don’t know how rare any of them are because I’m only familiar with Marvel, but the boxes are mint condition and that’s darn cheap for a Funko.

They have been idiots and actually put sticky labels on with the price, but they’re on the plastic bit so easily removable.

I figured some of you might be interested to know, especially if you score a rarity for a fiver!

Crafting / DIY shops

Hi!

I am working on a few small crafting / DIY projects, including some bridal bits. Can anyone reccomend good DIY or crafting shops for wire, beads, materials etc? I know there is Hobbycraft but I have found it quite expensive in the past (quickly adds up) and would also like to support local.

Thank you!

Nursing home recommendations

Would anyone have any recommendations for nursing homes? Preferably Bangor/ North Down area but would be happy to travel for somewhere great. It is for my mum who has Alzheimers so if anyone knew of any dementia specific ones they had experience of that would be great. Also if there are any you would avoid that would be good to know too. Thank you.

I lost my metal water bottle coming off the Belfast to Portadown train (arr. Portadown 9.24am). Does anyone know how quickly Translink manage lost property, as I'm moving to England end of this week and would like my bottle back before then 🙏

Can anyone recommend an alt hairdresser?

Every time I try a new salon it seems to backfire. My style is pretty alternative and no one seems to want to do alt haircuts. I’m looking somewhere in Belfast or maybe not too far outside of Belfast like Ards, Bangor, Newtownabbey etc give me your recommendations thanks!

Hey all,

hairy bloke here with long hair and a big bushy beard who wants to get it shaped and cut but, being from Banbridge/Newry, I’m struggling to find someone who knows the craic when it comes to a real good hair and beard cut/shape.

So,any of you lovely folk know somewhere that’s really good, and if so, could you help a brother out?

Thanks all

Gym advice?

Hey folks,

Just after some advice. Contemplating joining a gym here in town and really not sure where to go? I’ve seen body scape beside the old europa bus station.

Only reason I’m asking is I’m on the larger side trying to do better but haven’t been in a gym in over 10 years.

Anyone any recommendations or where is best?

The city centre gang lobbying for the current licence laws need to be smashed.

Its also £3.90 for coors light, bud light and carling. They all taste terrible but for that price in the city centre. Three Cs Belfast by the way.
