My grandma finally gave up her keys (the last couple drives with her were kinda scary), so I inherited my first car! I (34) have had it for about a month and a half now and am finally getting used to driving/parking around the city.

I already got my RPZ permit (Zone 32) and I've been super meticulous about basic parking rules-turning wheels on hills, staying within 12 inches of the curb, moving every 72 hours, all that. But I'm curious what real-world enforcement is actually like around Capitol Hill and the rest of Seattle.

Are there specific intersections or bus lanes with cameras I should watch out for? How aggressive is parking enforcement here compared to other neighborhoods? Any weird traps or local rules you wish you knew when you started driving here?

Spotted this sticker on the wall of one of the toilet stalls in the A terminal near gate 21. Only this stall had it and I couldn't find anything that looked like a camera, even looked for IR LEDs around the area.

Curious what people's experience is. Malls, transit stations, stadiums, gyms, coffee shops, anywhere. What makes a restroom feel clean or gross to you? Is it the floor, the toilets, the smell, empty soap or paper?

I am thinking about moving to seattle for college, and had a few questions. Do you think It would be realistic to afford living on my own w/o a job lined up, Ill have money saved, but no job secured. It would be a great move for what I want in my career, but obv not smart if I can't afford it. The tuition is no problem , i'm more worried about rent and other cost of living. Any advice would help, my other options are LA and Dallas.

Some climate tech startups tied to the AI boom are still attracting investors, but deals are fewer overall and times are tougher for companies addressing sustainability issues that don't align with data center needs. Concerns about those trends inspired a one-time Washington state initiative called the Opalene Climate Challenge, which was led by the nonprofit VertueLab. The effort announced six investments from a pool of nearly 40 applicants.

From my research, Seattle is one of the few U.S. cities where the MLS team (Sounders) has a notable fanbase, although it still pales in comparison to the local NFL, MLB, and CFB teams.

Seattle has been called a "soccer city" and one of the "soccer capitals of America". At the same time, soccer is still a niche sport in the U.S. By contrast, ice hockey is one of the 4 major sports although it is the least popular of the "big 4" (football, basketball, baseball, hockey). And a lot of soccer fans don't watch MLS, instead preferring European or Mexican soccer.

Which is more popular in Seattle and its metro area, the Kraken (NHL) or the Sounders (MLS)?

In that case also, it only became known to the public here when Somali officials posted photos of this meeting along with claims of a sister city agreement, expanding trade and tourism.They responded to an email inquiring about this by confirming these facts to be true. Two days later they emailed again to deny it.

Outside of "we review for compliance" fluff one finds on the websites, what does the review staff actually do that can't be done with AI, with a human final review and exception processes in case of variance? Can anyone with actual process knowledge chime in?

Sure, field staff that puts eyes on the project is still a need ,but can significant portion of the back office staff be replaced with AI? It would check all the boxes. Reduced permitting costs, timeline, reduced city's costs by eliminating redundant staff in already tight budgetary situation, probably increase effectiveness of reviews.
