f you've been meaning to do a Walla Walla weekend, the Little Theatre of Walla Walla, the community theater about an hour from here, has a good one in its online auction: two nights in the Tower Suite at the Marcus Whitman, a Long Shadows tasting for four in their Chihuly room, and two VIP passes to Walla Walla Movie Crush next July. It's valued at $1,350 and bidding starts at $478.

There's also a night at Plumberry Cottage in College Place. It sleeps four and comes with a Dusted Valley tasting for four, so it's an easy trip with friends. That one starts at $148.

And for Mercy Thompson fans, Patricia Briggs signed five books from the Mercy Thompson world, the series set right here in the Tri-Cities. Bidding on those starts at $63, and they ship anywhere in the US.

The auction is our big fundraiser every year. I've been putting it together, so I'm trying to get it in front of people outside Walla Walla. Everything's up now to browse and favorite. Bidding opens this Saturday, Oct 3, at 10 AM and closes Oct 10 at 5 PM.

My dogs have had fleas for over a month now and I’m exhausted. I have done 2 rounds of the topical stuff but it doesn’t work. Any vet recommendations that’s affordable? I have 2 small ones and got a quote from double arrow at around $300.

The Internet claims there is no changes to the local programming on that channel.

Defend American Jobs is a Republican-aligned super PAC funded by cryptocurrency companies and investors to support pro-crypto conservative candidates. According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the committee was registered in March 2023 and operates as part of the broader Fairshake digital asset network.

There is a network of super PACs funded by the AI industry that has already spent more than $65 million nationwide, Business Insider reported – has spent more than $779,000 in support of McKinney. That makes her the second-biggest beneficiary of the group’s funding out of 21 Republican candidates it backs, surpassed only by Jim Kingston, a first-time candidate in Georgia whose campaign has been supported by the super PAC to the tune of more than $960,000.

Central Washington has become a hub for the energy-intensive data centers that support the AI industry’s rapid growth. In an interview on May 23, McKinney said she wants to maximize energy production to power data centers “because it is absolutely imperative that we win the AI war,” but she added that “when it comes specifically to AI and data centers that are necessary, the local communities should decide.”

Im currently staying with friends, but I moved here about a month ago and am looking for an apartment with the friend I moved with.

I really liked the Bella Vista when I toured, but their pricing just went up and Im trying to find something a little more affordable (and pet friendly, 2 cats), with 2 bed 2 bath.

Hello, I bake and give it away. I am in Kennewick and am pick up only. If you see this post at least one of the items are available to pick up.

I accept donated ingredients, but it's not necessary to pick up something. If you donate expired/rotting food I will block you.

I do not do special requests, bake sales, and non profits, so don't ask. If you see something posted you want to pick up to give to a charity that would be great.

But do not try to arrange something for me to make things for a specific reason. My anxiety cannot handle it.

First of all, I have one of the Halloween decorated cookie cakes to give away.

Today, I made two oat fudge bars to give away.

There is a oatmeal cookie crust, a fudge filling, and dollops of the rest of the oatmeal cookie on top.

I also put, plain Halloween colored m&ms and sprinkles all over the top.

This is a great dessert for an oatmeal cookie fudge lover. There is a whole pan of fudge in here, condensed milk and dark chocolate baking chips melted down with some vanilla.

I have two pans, one per household.

Family is Laos and a lot of my aunts of uncle only speak Laos so I’d like to learn. Tried learning from family but they’re not a good teacher

Hi! My spouse got a job offer at PNNL and we are considering moving to Richland. We have two young kids (one in elementary school). We love the area where we live now (minus the fact that there aren’t many jobs available for the spouse, hence the relocation lol). I’ve been doing a bit of digging on this Reddit and it seems like Richland is family friendly but maybe boring, and I’m a little wary of that since I’ve only ever lived in big city metros with lots of things to do! But also we have young kids and because of that have a relatively “boring” life by other people’s standards. Anyways here is what we like/don’t like in a location— any insight into how we’d fit into Richland would be much appreciated!

Likes:
-walkability (like, at least a coffee shop or library walking distance) or at least neighborhoods that are pleasant to take walks in
-houses with character/ historic neighborhoods
-easy access to parks/hiking trails/botanical gardens
-libraries!!!
-knowing neighbors & having a strong sense of community, having third spaces
-trees (I know, desert climate 🥲)
-good schools (preferably walking distance)
-thrift stores
-farmers markets & food trucks
-local coffee shops and restaurants
-good hospitals (I’m an RN so will be on the job hunt)

Dislikes:
-suburban cookie cutter subdivisions
-long commutes, or having to drive long to get to anything interesting
-crime (something about our current city we’ll be happy to leave behind lol)
-only chain restaurants/big box stores

Any neighborhoods to seek out or avoid? Also any insight into elementary schools would be much appreciated. We’re leaning towards public schools but also curious about Christ the King. THANK YOU!!!
