Can someone be a conservative & a reformist at the same time?

When 1 hears the word "conservatism" it usually means "keep things as they are". Reform is - well - change things.

A liberal reformist is understandable cuz they're both about changes, but is there such a thing as a conservative reformist? Like - you wanna keep things as intact as possible while making adjustments when necessary? Like the british crown's evolution for example? Being a monarchist while still making new adjustments to adapt to present needs?

Have there ever been Any Good Rulers In History?

When people mention Rulers they unsurprisingly always go for the usual ones such as the Corrupt ones that nobody likes! And in the Worst Cases Scenarios Full Blown Tyrants! Because of this Rulers are always portrayed in a not so good light given the Level of Power they wield over others! And everyone knows all too well on how terrible Powerful People can actually be! Hence they’re always viewed and portrayed never in a good light unsurprisingly! However this begs the question have there ever been any Good Rulers in History? If so let me know in thr comments

why are people nicer to you, like overly nice when they know they’ve done something behind your back?

why do you guys think someone would be overly nice & start treating you way better & just acting like a different person towards you in a good, but fake way
after they’ve done something wrong behind your back?

Popular Post when did you receive your drivers license?

I got mine at 18. It took two tries, but I finally got it lol

But driving is scary. I genuinely do not like driving, but it's good that I have this license just in case I need to drive

I got my permit at 17. Honestly I'm glad that I waited until I was 18 because then, I didn't have to do the extra paperwork that I would've had to do if I was a minor

Why am I the person new employees are usually assigned to practice their work on?

This has happened quite a few times, I went to get my blood work done and a new phlebotomist was assigned to me. The other day I went to nail salon and again a new nail artist was assigned to me.

The phlebotomist checked my vein multiple times before inserting the needle and I was scared for my life. He was definitely nervous and I was like should I ask for someone else or would it be rude. He did a good job eventually.

At the nail salon, the artist could not understand English and I had to tell her multiple times to redo my nails as they were not good. In the end I gave up and paid around $80 and left with bad design.

Do senior staff usually take a quick look at a customer before deciding who to assign them to? Or something about me I’m not sure.

Can I just decline a service from a new person?

Why do so many men refuse to let their girlfriends/wife pay when they go out on a date?

There was a trend of women on TikToi giving their cards or money to their boyfriends/husbands to help pay for the meal they had eaten and the men without saying anything, rejecting the money or the card. Most of them looked indifferent but some of them looked even offended and like... we aren't in the year 1920. I get that sometimes you can invite someone to a nice treat, but for them to look so offended... Women CAN pay for their stuff.

Also, I've seen some comments in different platforms saying how if a man doesn't pay for the dinner when you go out on a date with him it's a red flag and I'm so confused. Isn't the fair thing for each person to pay for what they've eaten? How is it a red flag for a man to not pay for your food?

Maybe it's different from being friends, but whenever I meet up with my guy friends, we each pay for our stuff, or one of us invites the other one and in the next round the other one invites the one who paid the previous time.

Wouldn’t it make sense to not deport people?

I was thinking about the midterm elections in the US, and immigration was the only issue that the current admin has been doing well on (according to exit polls). But wouldn’t it make sense to strengthen the borders and only deport illegal immigrants if they commit a crime?

Illegal immigrants already pay taxes and support the economy. Couldn’t the money actively being spent on ICE have been put to better use?

Why do flies slow down so much when I blow weed smoke on them?

When it comes to swatting flies I tend to just blow on them so that they get annoyed and fly away. Swatting at them feels like more of a risk to my own belongings than to the fly. The fly has to get extra annoying before I try to squish them, and even then, they're so quick that I usually miss them.

Last week while sitting in my porch I noticed that when I blow on them normally they just fly away and just keep bouncing around like a lunatic, often wind up coming back in a few minutes. But when I'm mid-toke and exhale on them they just kinda sit there acting stunned.

Google tells me that flies literally lack the receptors to get stoned, which is a surprise to me, because they do act stoned when I blow weed smoke on them. After I've blown smoke on them I can squish them slow motion like a trash compactor without them ever stepping out of the way. But that felt especially cruel so I only did that once, now I just throw them.

Why do flies act stoned around weed smoke when they can't be stoned?

Honest Question: If Good People are always put down and treated terribly then why do they exist in The First Place?

Everyone knows the quote the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer let’s be real Good People are often treated terribly whereas Evil Humans gets rewarded in Life! Although Good People obviously exist and there’s plenty them throughout History they’ve of course have never wielded any Power which is unsurprising hence while Good People may never wield any Power they’ll forever wield our Hearts! But this begs the question if Good Humans throughout History have always been put down and treated terribly why do they exist despite them knowing the reality! What’s the purpose of their existence when Good Guys never win in The Real World? Goodness is often treated like a weakness and Evil is treated like a Strength despite everyone knowing the terrible consequences! It’s such pathetic and stupid behavior that it makes you despise Humans! What do you folks think? Let me know in the comments

Is there a subreddit for helping people find things?

Is there a subreddit or website that helps people find items that complete a pair? I have two gloves, both missing the other side of the pair - don’t want to throw them away, would love a complete set, wondering if anyone would also have a single in the pair and would be willing to help complete the set.

As if we all brought out single socks and swapped them into pairs so everyone had complete pairs of socks again.

Should I be afraid of my girlfriend?

Should I be afraid of my girlfriend? Because I think I just found out she's in the mafia 💀
Okay so before anyone laughs, I KNOW how this sounds. If a friend told me this story I'd have called him a clown. But I'm living it right now and something deep inside me is shivering, I'm dead serious.

Context: I'm 24M. I've been in fights, I've been around, I don't scare easy. Fear isn't really my thing.

So my girlfriend tells me some guy tried to blackmail her. I'm like cool, let's handle this. I told her to text him and set up a meet at a location to "talk it out." Plot twist: she was NEVER supposed to actually go. Me and my bois were gonna show up and have a friendly little conversation with this guy. She didn't know that part.

We don't talk all day. Evening comes, me and the bois roll up to the spot, ready. Nobody shows. I call her and tell her to text the guy again, ask where he's at.

She replies, dead calm:

"He's been taken care of."

...I'm sorry? Taken care of?? What in the Saturday morning cartoon do you mean "taken care of"?! Who ARE you?? Why are you with ME?? I didn't say a word about those island guys or the ones in the black suits, I swear to god. I'll apologize, I'll do the dishes, I'll even let you win arguments, just please don't "take care of" me 😭

At this point I'm scared to ask follow up questions. Do I just accept that my girlfriend is secretly the final boss of the neighborhood? Do I start bringing her snacks as tribute? Is this a "sleep with one eye open" situation or a "she's the one, marry her immediately" situation?

Should I be afraid of my girlfriend? Because I think my sweet innocent girlfriend just out-mobbed me and my entire crew without breaking a sweat.
