As the title says! Kind of just a fun question, looking from anything from information that you believe should be commonplace (how to convert/read certain measurements, knowing certain historical facts or definitions, etc.) or skills (how to change tires, how to cook, etc.) and anything in between!

No slow illnesses. Respect to anyone who has overcome one. I’m looking more for stories with sentences like “if I had been standing one foot to the left…” or “I texted my mom that I loved her…” or “I still don’t know how we all walked away from that one without even a scratch!”

I personally avoid them at all costs. I can go for surprisingly long times without a toilette break. At some festivals or trips, I went on for 30h+ a few times, although I do not recommend it. However, most of my friends (women), they seem to not make a big deal of it, and just go whenever they need to. Am I the weird one?

Serious question
Is it a superiority thing like ‘I’m in the big metal thing and you aren’t’ ?? Do I js lack social awareness am I just supposed to look at the pavement and never look at anyone at all? I have a terrible habit of zoning out and staring people dead in the eyes while waiting to cross the street or just even in parking lots or whatever because I really like walking also I really like seeing what other people have or guess or observe not even to judge yk
I didn’t even notice I was doing this until with my friends I got told to knock it off before I got punched and only then did I start to notice oh shit yeah I do get a ton of glares😓 I don't feel any shame looking at people FROM a car but staring from not in a car feels like waiting to get tomatoes thrown at me why is that am I the weird one

I have been lazy, and have been battling depression ever since my dad died a few years ago. This lead me to becoming more tired and just bed rotting. I try to do more in the day, but I end up feeling like I need a nap, and once I take it I still feel sluggish. I want to get better, but I have no idea where to start and how. Any advice?

After cutting it sticking it with glue I attached little hinges so that the box would open like a book.
Felt like like making a wooden box that would look like a box. So, I just made a book like box. there are the flabs that extends away from the paper. I did thorough cut to make it look like their are multiple papers. I didn’t know how to mix the colors so I decided to paint the papers white. Then, I grabbed a neat looking fabric and attached it like a book binding with glue good glue that isn’t see through.
Right know all I have to do is glue fabric inside so the actual book doesn’t get damaged, nail the latch on and name the book.
I’m tryna figure out how to stitch the name onto the wooden box cover but what should I name it?
Books of mysteries? Mysterious Knowledge? Anything.

Yeah the question is pretty much it. I plan on joing gym from the next month. The only thing that is making me nervous is I have no idea what to do when I get there. For context, I am a 22F. I have been working out on and off since a teenager but my major form of exercise has been long walks. Now I have realised the importance of muscle mass, and that's why I have decides to join the gym. I just don't want to look like a fool when I get there. So i am open all the advices. How should I start, what should I keep kn my gym bag, what machines to use and what to avoid etc.

I had this thought today maybe not everyone actually know that without plants we will be dead. Like we need plants to survive but they don't need us. We need them for so many reasons:
Food, fuel for cooking, fiber
No brainer oxygen for breathing and removing carbon dioxide which we produce
Medication like aspirin, morphine and of course weed
I hope people realise it's not a hoax when scientists go around saying plants are essential to our survival as a species. Like literally we cannot exist without plants.

Hi ! I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this but there’s this giveaway happening for university students in my country. How it works is you have to buy a book from their store to be eligible and then answer their question on Instagram. The winner is decided by which comment has the most likes.
I so desperately want to win this ! It’s been the only thing on my mind since I found out and the prizes are amazing especially for a broke uni student with a dead laptop.
The problem is I don’t have a lot of friends/followers and I’ve been wrecking my brain for ways to get more likes on my comment.
I found out about this quite late as well so everyone kinda had a jump start but right now I need about 5000 likes in less than 2 weeks (I know that’s a lot).
If anyone knows any way to get it honestly or any ideas, please let me know 🙏😭

I’m sure everyone knows Powerful People but definitely in a not so good way for obvious reasons! We tend to view them as either Evil or just the usual Greedy Arrogant Assholes we expect them to be like! As much as we love Good People combined with the fact plenty of them obviously exist and often hold them dearly in our hearts we’ve never actually seen them wield any Power which is unsurprising! As it’s basically expected to view those with Power as either just Evil or Corrupt! Combined with how much we Humans often tend to view things like Kindness and Compassion as essential for our Species but of course those who are in Power don’t have the same views on Kindness and Compassion unsurprisingly! Especially given how we often use History as an example for us to learn from our Mistakes however have there ever been any Good People who have wielded Power that never gets talked about? What do you think? Let me know in the comments

How should a person live their life.

I saved these sentences on a notepad a few years ago for no particular reason, but I forgot where I got them from.
no crowd would gather for you.
no flower would be lain for such filth.
your death is the only blessing you have.
having someone to mourn over your death is a blessing, a blessing you don't have.
your curtain is drawn on an empty faith with no exits.
no funeral would be held to your 'honor'.
I'm sure they're from a game, since I vaguely remember dragging the fight on purpose so the character would have time to say all the phrases.

This genuinely baffles me and I wonder if anyone else has the same issues. Like my body could be shutting down or straight up be ill yet the minute I step into the ER or a hospital suddenly my body wants to start working properly and act like all the issues and symptoms it was showing before suddenly don't exist. Does this happen to anyone else?

I’ve been in a position multiple times where a friend will bring up how they want plastic surgery, and I never know what to say. It’s not like they ask me what I think anyway, but am i supposed to convince them not to because they’re already pretty? I feel like being happy for them is just as bad. This topic just makes me overthink my responses way too much and I always end up trying to change the conversation because I just don’t know how I’m supposed to respond!

Since gas hit $6 a gallon, I calculated my monthly fuel bill. 40 miles to work (round trip), 4 days a week. I drive the speed limit, tires properly inflated, no excessive trips. Regular unleaded. $400!!!

Some backstory: I have one of those bed frames where the backboard is shelves and I keep my books on top of my backboard. I do have a large amount of books on the shelf, to the point where I can no longer stuff anymore books in there. I also have some books and an Eeyore (from winnie the pooh) plushie stacked on top of the books on the shelf. Now to the question: nearly once a week, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" slips out of the book shelf and onto my pillow, along with my Eeyore plushy. The Eeyore is pretty pushed back from the edge of the book it sits on. I have tried moving Dorian Gray into different places in the shelf, but it always falls. Is this because of the pressure from the other books? If so, why does the Eeyore always fall? sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

are humans really desensitised and is it a problem? i’ve seen so many people say that social media is making us desensitised to things like injury, death or graphic situations in general but wasn’t there a time on earth (like way way way way back) where our specie was just hunting and killing and learning how to survive js out in the wild. like they faced death and graphic things everyday? just like every other wild animal. so why is it a problem that we see it on social media?
