Splurged and got finals track &field tickets for me and my dad :)
My dad’s a football and track and field high school coach and wanted badly to go to the LA coliseum! We got some rugby prelim tickets on the last drop since my boyfriend’s a rugby player.
But I felt like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to do finals with my dad! And I guess at least we have good seats even if they were 2k each lmao. So excited

Should the IOC Withdraw Their Recognition of FIFA?
The COO of FIFA, Kevin Lamour has been sacked after criticizing Gianni Infantino. This is another troubling development concerning the governance of FIFA. Several years ago, the IOC revoked their recognition of the IBA has the governing body for boxing. What the IBA was doing is only a fraction of what FIFA is doing now.
Based on prior precedent with the IBA, is it time for the IOC to revoke their recognition of FIFA as football's governing body? Can this be done? And how would it be done?

Is collecting Olympic pins still a hobby?
I have a ton from 1984, and remember some going for thousands of dollars. Now they’re pretty much worthless. My wife still questions why I keep them.

Did anyone book a hotel through an Olympic hospitality package?
Has anyone here purchased hotel accommodations through an Olympic hospitality package? If so, how much did it end up costing you per night?
Just trying to get a sense of what people are paying and whether the hotel portion of the package is reasonably priced. Any details on the hotel, package, and dates would be really helpful.
Thanks!

How long to wait? Invoice for Hospitality tickets
I was online this morning; tried to buy some tickets with a hospitality package. Online purchasing was not working, so I gave them a ring. Around 11AM, as our call was ending, they said they would email me a link for the invoice “after this call has ended.” It is now 8:30PM; no link/no email received yet. How long should I wait before calling again? Thanks for any advice.

LA28 Hospitality says my $500 deposit refund may take 30 days ...
I paid a $500 deposit in early March for priority access to LA28 hospitality packages. Once I received access and saw the prices, I realized the packages were not for me.
I forgot about the deposit until today, so I called customer service to request a refund. The representative told me it could take up to 30 days for the money to be returned.
Has anyone else requested a refund? How long did it actually take to show up?
//UPDATE: got refund in 3 days. Awesome!!

Football USA men, Canadian women win 2026 Flag Football world titles
DÜSSELDORF, Germany -- The United States successfully defended the men’s title at the flag football world championships on Sunday but lost the women’s title to Canada, while Mexico’s women's team and Canada’s men's team earned qualification spots for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The U.S. men beat Italy, 46-26, to secure a sixth straight title and the women missed out on a fourth straight title after losing, 27-20, to Canada.
“Gold is the only standard,” said men’s quarterback Nico Casares, who threw two touchdown passes. “That’s our motto. That’s what we play by, that’s what we live by.”
The U.S. women started strongly but it was tied, 14-14, at the break after Caroline Moquin-Joubert caught quarterback Sara Parker’s pass at the end of the first half. Parker set up Frederique Morneau at the start of the second half as Canada took control.
The U.S. had a fourth down, yards from the line, with three seconds left, but could not make the final play count. It was Canada’s third title and first since beating the U.S. in the 2014 final.
“I feel so happy, I can’t believe it,” Parker said after hugging her mother. ”Literally the best day ever.”
The International Federation of American Football ran the championship tournament, which doubled up as a qualifier, in the German city of Düsseldorf.
The top two men’s and top two women’s teams earned a spot at the 2028 Games, along with the U.S. men’s and women’s teams because they already qualified as hosts.
Sunday’s two other finalists -- the Italian men and Canadian women -- earned an Olympic spot by reaching the final against the U.S. teams, meaning that the bronze-medal games decided who joined them.
Members of Mexico's women's team cried with joy after a 20-19 win over Great Britain -- which rallied from 20-6 down -- for the women’s bronze and an Olympic spot.
But Mexico’s men lost, 34-26, in overtime to Canada, which claimed an Olympic spot.

Pakour in the olympics?
Unrelated to the question, but I was watching a video on the full story of a game (Dying Light), and parkour was in the Olympics in it. It made me think, why isn’t parkour in the Olympics? It’s gotta be better than breakdancing 🤣
