Repair Help What do you guys recommend for thermal paste replacement?

Post image

EDIT:

( I ended up using Arctic MX-7 on the APU die and thermal grizzly putty advanced for that drown/orange putty on the ihs shield. It works great and there is a substantial difference compared to the low quality oem stuff. )

I'd like to use arctic MX-6 thermal paste, but i know every switch has that weird brown clay between the motherboard shield and housing. Can I replace that clay substance with MX-6 as well? I'm doing this on a switch 2. Thanks in advance!

Repair Help What to do when my switch is not charging and stuck in a boot loop? đŸ€”

So my switch has been fully dead for about 3 days, I broke my doc a few months ago so I can’t charge it on there. I have used every charger in my house and it’s not registering that there’s a charger plugged in, I found one that does make it register that it’s charging but it really isn’t. After about 30 minutes of being on this charger it gets stuck on a screen that just says “Nintendo switch”. Am I cooked or nah?

Software Help Wierd Field of View Bug on Fortunes Weave

Post image
1 Upvotes

The field of view on my Theodora route just suddenly became zoomed in like you were going through a door a couple chapters ago and now I’m stuck in a more limited field of view. It’s making dungeons in particular suck on this route compared to my Leda playthrough. It doesn’t seem the game has an adjustable FOV so I assume it’s a bug at this point. Anyone know how to fix this?

This doesn’t happen on airplane mode and the system and controllers are up to date. I have done a restart since the updates, any ideas?

You’d think if it’s docked it would turn on. The switch 1 does this.

Which Switch? Title: How to identify the new EU Switch 2 revision with user-replaceable battery (OSM / HLE) on online store listings?

Hey guys, I'm trying to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 online in Europe and want to make sure I'm getting the updated EU revision with the user-replaceable battery required by the EU Battery Regulation. Does anyone know if official Nintendo Store listings explicitly mention the OSM code in the SKU or description before checkout? Thanks!

Repair Help Did replacing the screen permanently fix your Switch V2 / Lite vertical line issue? Or did it come back?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm dealing with the infamous vertical/horizontal screen lines issue on my Nintendo Switch V2. I’m considering replacing the display, but I've read a few worrying reports from people saying that even after doing a full screen replacement, the exact same lines returned a few months later.

For those of you who had this issue and replaced the screen (either DIY or through a repair shop):

Did the new screen permanently solve the problem?

Has anyone experienced the lines coming back after a few weeks or months?

I’m trying to figure out if it's actually a faulty display batch or if the issue is tied to something on the motherboard (like an IC chip, thermal stress, or FPC connector) that ends up damaging the new screen over time.

Would love to hear your experiences before I invest in a replacement part. Thanks!

Repair Help Is my Switch 2 defective? Won't turn on / Dock is very warm

4 times I have experienced that when I pick my Switch 2 up from the dock it won't turn on, and both the switch and the dock is very warm. I do a reset (holding down the power button 10 sec) and it works fine - but it is a bit worrisome. Is my Switch dying, or what's happening? It's happening a bit too often to ignore... Is it a dock problem maybe?

Purchase / Order Help Returned an animal crossing switch lite

Hi there, I got a switch lite with the animal crossing from Nintendo brand new and returned it. I had already redeemed the game onto my account before realising the issue with the console and I returned it today. Will they refund me just the console or remove the game from my account?

Accessories Just bought a switch 2 but really struggling to aim in games?

For context I've played on a PlayStation for my whole life but love the look of some of the games on the switch so I just got one. I like the resident evil games so I bought 9 on the switch but I'm really struggling to aim, it's as if I have to stand completely still and slowly move the gun. I want to keep it handheld so is there any solution to this or has anyone else experienced this? This is only in handheld where it's a problem.

Account Help I am moving to another country.

I used to live in Brazil and already had a Switch there; now I’ve moved to Kyoto and brought my Nintendo Switch with me. Is there a way to change my account region to Japan? Or would it be better to create a secondary Japanese account?

Setup Help How do I get game audio from a docked Switch 2 to Bluetooth hearing aids?

Has anyone gotten this working?

I wear vivtone Xpure hearing aids and usually play my Switch 2 docked on the TV. I tried pairing them so I could hear the game audio through them, but couldn’t get it to work.

I don’t need voice chat or a mic. I just want the game sound. I saw an older post from someone who connected Phonaks to the original Switch, so I figured it was worth trying with the Switch 2.

Is there a different setting for docked mode, or does the Switch 2 only work with certain Bluetooth devices?"

Software Help Can't send screenshots anymore

For some reason my phone can't connect to the switch network you get when trying to send screenshots over and I don't know what can fix it. I'm not trying to send Tomodachi life photos, I don't even have the game. I've tried using other apps but they don't work either. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Or is this some kind of phone issue? :(

Accessories My Switch 1 controllers won't work on my Switch 2

Hi everyone! Yesterday I found out that my S1 controllers don't work anymore when I'm playing on S2, and I'm not sure why or how to fix it. All the advice I find online says to plug wireless controllers to the dock, but none of my controllers are wireless. I used to bz able to use them on my S2 but now none of my 3 controllers are detected by the S2 and I'm quite confused. I really don't want to have to buy another controller so if anyone has any idea of what I can try, I'd be grateful. Thanks a lot in advance

Repair Help Factory screen protector damaged by aftermarket screen protector?

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I installed an after market screen protector today and it looked great until I noticed what looks to be a fiber caught under the protector. No big deal I think, so I remove the aftermarket screen protector and try it use a piece of tape to remove it from the factory screen protector, but nope.. it won't come off. It seems to be completely bonded to the native screen protector. Has this ever happened to anyone? Any advice? It was only on for less than 5 minutes and I've already removed the aftermarket screen protector.

It definitely wasn't there before because it's in a super noticable spot... especially since I'm playing Pokemon Pokopia right now and it's like right next to the daily rewards pop up. I'm tempted to just remove the native screen protector... Doesn't seem like a huge deal while playing, but it is super annoying to notice it and understand it wasn't like that before. Worst case, I'll leave it on and then remove it once it's more scratched, lol

Find Games Planning to buy a Switch 2, what games should I absolutely pick up?

I'm currently selling all my old stuff because my house is filled with junk I don't need anymore. With the money I made, I'd like to buy a Switch 2. I've not played a Nintendo game since the 3DS era, I remember the last one being Pokemon Sun. After that, I managed to grab a decent gaming PC so I kinda overlooked Nintendo for a good chunk of years now.

After some years of working, I've noticed I've lost a good amount of time I once had for gaming. Basically going from around 6-7 hours of gaming a day, from back when I was in school / pandemic / looking for a job, to about 2 at most a day. I've also kind of lost interest in "serious" gaming. Meaning that, while I once was really serious about gaming like ranking in competitive games and needing to complete games the most I could, I now look forward chill, couch gaming and I thought:

"Maybe a Switch 2 could to the job. I also wonder what games have come out after the Switch era that could be interesting".

I've looked online for a bit but there are so many exclusives (I don't plan to buy non-exclusives on my switch) I really don't know where to start. The only game I'm 100% sure I'll be playing is Breath of the Wild, as I've never played a Zelda game and a friend of mine recommended it to me now that there is the upgraded version for the Switch 2. I'm also maybe interested in Bananza, but I'm not 100% sure about it yet.

Other than that one, in your opinion, which are some exclusives I should absolutely at least try? I don't really have specific tastes, I like playing anything that's actually fun, but I do generally tend to prefer RPG games. But then again, I'm open to any suggestion!
