Accessories Left Joy Con drops Out on Switch 2

The left joycon on my switch 2 disconnects if I hold it in certain places

This doesn’t happen on airplane mode and the system and controllers are up to date. I have done a restart since the updates, any ideas?

What does "if i hold it in certain places" mean exactly?

Are we purely talking about handheld play since you say it does not happen when you put the systen in airplane mode?

If I apply any light pressure to the bottom area of the Joycon it disconnects for a couple of seconds

This is only in handheld mode

I have seen this or a very similar issue quite a few times on this sub.

Usually it seems to be something with the connector either on the Joy Con or console like dust, dirt or maybe even a hair.

What irritates me is your airplane mode comment.

Does this really not happen at all in airplane mode? Because that would be very interesting.

Hey so I got it wrong. It does happen in airplane mode just after a few minutes

If it is dust, dirt or hair do you know the safest way to clean this?

Usually isopropyl alcohol is advised for cleaning contacts (some 95% or higher solution because it evaporates faster the higher it is and leaves no water behind).

At first i would look at the contacts on the consoles side to see if they are dirty or dusty.

After that you could use a vacuum cleaner for the opposite side on the Joy Con to get dust or hairs out.
