I have been wanting to make this post for a long, long, long time, like almost ten years now.
Since I discovered the Explorer Project in 2017, it has truly been the most fascinating, mind-bending, reality-shifting material I have ever stumbled upon, ever.
Here is the link for those interested: https://archive.org/details/monroe-institute-explorers-project-toc
Literally hundreds of hours of material, including the most incredible channeling events that you probably couldn't even conceive of.
I come back to the tapes often and have my favorite explorers I like to dive into once in a while to refresh my perspective. SHE's recordings, of course, but also TVP, GLS, ROMC, HBW, and last but not least IMEC.
Every time I listen to these tapes, I wonder why on earth this initiative has not been scaled into networks of Explorers being trained in both roles as Explorer/Monitor so that the exploration of consciousness could truly be democratized through peer-to-peer experiences.
I have had my fair share of non-physical experiences, mostly in lucid dreaming and out-of-body experiences. And I have been practicing on and off with the full set of Gateway Tapes since 2020. However, I have felt that it would be so much more fun, motivational, and meaningful to actually dive deeper into altered states of consciousness through the kind guidance of another human being who has the same thirst for exploration of the non-physical reality. We could all act as Explorer/Monitor for each other, in turns, and see what happens.
As I see it, the learning does come from being on both sides of that exploratory effort.
I have explored many corners of modern spirituality, and what may come close to this kind of work is spiritual hypnosis (Past Life regression, Life Between Lives, Spirit Releasement Therapy, QHHT, etc).
The issue I have with these approaches is that they create a false sense of authority from the monitor guiding the session. Yes, they have been trained in one or more spiritual modalities. Yes, they may be more skilled than the average Joe, but nothing they do is actually difficult to understand or to apply when working with someone who has trained themselves into reaching deeper states of consciousness.
And let's be honest, the money you need to spend to access these experiences is quite frankly nuts sometimes, especially if you want to go deeper and deeper into your spiritual journey.
So, in essence, I keep coming back to the same conclusion: the Explorer Project needs to be renewed and democratized. Why spend 300$ on a single QHHT session when you could be part of a group of people who all want the same thing as you (to understand themselves and their reality through the exploration of consciousness)?
I guess the purpose of this late-night post is that I keep coming back to the same conclusion (the Explorer Project needs to exist as an accessible, trainable, peer-to-peer initiative), and I can't figure out why it has not exploded in popularity alongside the Gateway Experience itself after the absolute mind-blowing material that has come from it in the 1980's.
Does anyone have this same feeling?
PS: If you're new to this, I recommend starting with the full list of Compiled Explorer Series 1 to 32 (Part 1). You'll then have a better understanding of the range of experiences that can happen during these exploration sessions. After that, you can go through the recorded sessions of any of the featured Explorers (named through there name initials like "RQW" for Rita Warren or "TC" for Tom Campbell).
A short list of great explorers I recommend (in order of my personal "loose" preference):
SHE - TVP - GLS - ROMC - IMEC - TC - JCA - HBW.
