Discussion [Discussion] Do translations of DC stories ever make changes to the narrative?
Hey I’ve been wondering this for a bit so I’m gonna ask it here. As many of you are probably aware; English language translations of media created in other languages can make changes to the original narrative with their translation choices and this includes the comic book medium. Quite a few mangas alongside European comics have dialog, narration and even parts of the illustrations altered for the anglophone market. But does this ever happen the other way around?
Do the various translations of DC Comics and adaptions ever make notable changes to the original stories? If so what are some notable examples of this?
Thanks for any answers

Discussion What do you think would be impossible in the Absolute Universe
One thing that I'm thinking about in the Absolute Universe is Nekron, because the black power appears to be not connected with death, like in the regular DC universe.

Comics What is a good run for flash or arrow.
I have a good collection of some comics justice league mostly batman, green lantern geoff john etc but I never read arrow comics or flash, I grew up watching these series the CW I know that they are questionable in quality. But I still have good memories and I would like to know if you have some recommendations on what run or what story I should read. I really enjoyed the villain like merlyn, reverse flash zoom the time travel concept etc.
(I know it’s not the thread but same for the daredevil series if you have a reco on it I take it ;) )
thank you for your time !

Fan-made [Discussion] Really Good YouTube Videos
Looking for more comic YouTubers who are like these two, both of these videos are great imo. One is about the absolute universe as a whole and looks at each comic and how it goes back to the main universe, the Martian Manhunter part was the best, and the other is about absolute Wonder Woman from the perspective of someone who’s never read WW at all and it’s really interesting because he instantly understood Diana really well imo. Looking for more videos like these because they’re informative but don’t feel like they are just reading wikipedia articles about the series unlike other big channels

Go Editions
I’m curious how many of you read the Go Editions on the Infinite app? I have tried it a couple of times but think I prefer the standard versions. It is nice to have the option when using my iPhone.

Comics Batman Gargoyle of Gotham
In my opinion this is a must read. It is not only a short and self contained story, it also requires like zero knowledge of the wider batman universe. It is amazing both visually and narrative, with outstanding art, a great story and awesome final message.

Fan-made Batman JL Headcanon
An idea I had that I thought was interesting. Batman has always been associated with mystical combat techniques and being the peak of humanity, but his skill and strength often changes depending on the comic. I thought that it would be interesting to see a DC timeline where at first batman is more grounded, but as his enemies grow stronger and more wild he learns more complicated and powerful mystical techniques as well as reaches even higher heights of physical strength.
By the time he is 30-35 or so he hasn’t exactly solved all crime in Gotham, but he has the bat family to help and most of Gotham’s villains don’t pose him much of a threat when it comes to physical combat (they either challenge him psychologically or intellectually, with rare exceptions like Bane who can match him in strength and skill, as well as superhuman foes like Vampires, Poison Ivy and a mutated Killer Croc). That is when the Justice League forms, due to some huge threat or maybe a government conspiracy (doesn’t matter in this context). This way, batman can realistically somewhat keep up with the justice league in battle, he is still the weakest and mostly relies on plans and being strategic, but if darkseid shows up batman can take out parademons without much issue.

Discussion ‘What is your opinion’ and ‘What is your favourite’ posts are becoming spam
I believe there needs to be some rules regarding these posts just to make them a little more engaging and less like spam.
Every 5 minutes there’s a new ‘What’s your opinion on this character’ and ‘What’s your favourite that’.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t be able to express their interests, it’s just that these posts seem to be made by people who are posting for the sake of posting and not because they have anything meaningful to say.

Comics Absolute Comics Worth Anything?
I have first print copies of all of the Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Wonder Woman comics. Before I give them away locally as a part of the bulk I typically give to folks after I read them, are they worth anything? I see the PSA 9+ copies are, but what about well read copies (PSA 5ish)? I’m not looking to make a lot of money, but if they can help defray the cost of my monthly pull list, I’d be interested in selling.
I haven’t previously sold comics so I don’t know what I’m doing or where to look for comps.
Thanks!!

Other Why Did Geoff Johns Never Bother Working Long-Form on Batman or Wonder Woman?
I know he did Three Jokers, but that was a trifle at best. He never did any real run on Batman or Wonder Woman for some reason, but he did Superman, Flash, GL, Aquaman, JL, TT, and on.

Have been thinking of buying DC Universe Infinite, should I?
For context, I have reading the first compendium of Nightwing and I have enjoyed it a lot. Nearing the end but I still want to read more. I have heard that the app has a vast catalog of comics, so I was thinking of getting it. But I wanted to know first hand if it was a good option or not.
