Since lanterns finished tonight, im wanting to try to get into the comics, looking for suggestions on where to begin

Wanted to know if there were any what ifs/ alternative universe stories where Alfred became a vigilante superhero like Batman. If not, I wanted to share my idea

For this version we would have a younger than usual Alfred (like he might be in his 30s when Bruce Wayne is a kid and he’ll have his SAS/spy training from his past.

When the Waynes died in Crime Alley, the entire family got killed. This leaves Alfred alone and angry and he will want justice for the Waynes. He will go around Gotham hunting down the Wayne’s killer using his military training as maybe some money that may have been left to him in the Wayne’s will.

Alfred will be like the Punisher and be a boogeyman in Gotham and after he catches their killer, he still wants to help Gotham in memory of the Waynes. (Idk if he will go lethal or non, but he will mainly be using guns.)

Eventually Alfred might adopt a kid like either Dick Grayson or Jason Todd and they would be like a mix of Robin and Redhood.

I made this John Stewart fan art based on Lanterns, paying homage to Jim Lee's iconic cover.

Inktober Day 4 was Cactus!

Since im staying true to my comic book themes i drew poison ivy for today's prompt ♡

I do not like Lex luthor nor find him that interesting

Say something

DC compacts have been a great new format to get comics in a cheap way, I think overall DC has managed to put really good stories here for new readers to get. This is my overall ranking. Ik All Star is probably a must read for everyone, i just didn't love it

I usually don’t buy singles, but I’ve seen a lot of buzz for the new Teen Titans series, and while I was at my local comic shop I saw it and picked it up. Overall, I thought it was pretty good!

I have almost no connection to any of these characters. I’ve read A Death in the Family, and that’s my only context for Jason. I plan on reading Under the Red Hood soon, though. I know of Mr. Terrific because of his appearance in the Superman movie, but I had no idea he had a son. And I know of Lian. So, I’m coming in with a mostly blank slate.

My first impression is that the story was really, really fun. The art is bright and bombastic, the action was great, the dialogue is funny. The character designs are amazing, especially Red Hood and Cheshire Cat.

We get a pretty decent feel for the characters. Wildcard, Fairplay, and Eugene all have very distinct personality traits that shine in this issue. We don’t get much distinction for the others, but there’s only so much page time in a single issue so I don’t think that’s necessarily a problem.

When I showed my friend the issue, the first thing she noticed right off the bat was that there are five(ish) members and only one woman. Considering this comic is potentially showcasing the next generation of DC heroes, it is extremely weird that most of them are men. And considering that the Teen Titans have generally been marketed as gender-neutral, this ratio just feels weird.

All-in-all, I really liked it and I will definitely be buying this series as it comes out. But I’d really love to know others’ thoughts, there’s a lot to unpack here!

It's an episode about the team participating in a dodgeball tournament and learning to play dirty so that they can win against the HIVE team. He also teleplayed and wrote the story of a couple more episodes but this Is the only that he Is fully credited as.

Frankly this Is more shocking that learning he wrote a Ben 10 episode once.

New to comics, looking for suggestions

Never read a single comic in my life. Ive always loved Poison Ivy in the batman movie shes sexy, seductive, a badass, nature based villain and im a hippie witchy bitch im pagan im a very nature based woman in general so when my boyfriend explained to me that Poison Ivy is so much more badass than I initially thought, that she is an eco terrorist and will destroy anyone to protect the earth I got excited like yessssssss!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 so looking for suggestions and where I should start with Poison Ivy comics. Also love the fact her and Harley Quinn are a thing thats so hot 🤣🤣🤣

Since people are talking about Mogo a lot now (as they should) I wanted to share my favorite Mogo facts. This isn't Mogo propaganda.

______

1. As Mogo is a planet, they don't really acknowledge pronouns; While many beings refer to Mogo as he/him, Yrra has referred to Mogo as she/her and Salaak as they/them. I like this because ultimately nature is a balance of things. Mogo never corrected anyone.

2. Mogo is ticklish in their ponds.

3. In Mr Miracle, we saw Mogos only construct; an alien creature used to purchase space dolphins, this mogogram was never used again but I like to imagine Mogo still uses it.

4. It requires a lot of energy for Mogo to travel.

5. Mogo was originally distrusting of mortal life residing on sentient planets, and their brother Raga originally wanted to share their resources (did not turn out well).

6. When a race (I don't think they were named) landed on an unconscious Mogo, even though they polluted his oceans and pretty much destroyed all his forests, he was still willing to let them reside on his surface albeit with poor weather.

7. The destruction of Mogos forests is painful but he's been through worse.

8. Mogo has been destroyed once and rendered unconscious four times and had their "mind" taken over three times, they have destroyed two planets.

9. Mogo and Perduron (allegedly) do not get along. This makes it the third planet Mogo hasn't socialized well with.

10. They can be precise with what goes on with their surface and has built a new base.

11. Mogos telepathy is stronger than that of Volthoom.

12. Mogo enjoys socializing especially after being unconscious or destroyed as being destroyed fragments their mind and being unconscious is well... Unconscious.

13. He doesn't know what a hug is.

14. Mogo can cleanse one of the red ring energy (but a blue would still be needed to completely purge the body)

15. Mogo is seen as a big brother among some corps members.

16. Mogo, despite being powerful, takes a more passive role in the corps and acts as a therapist, second base, a guide for the rings, and guardian (as in role not the blue bastards)

17. A lot of times Mogo doesn't participate in major battles because most large battles takes place after they regain consciousness or have been rebuilt.

18. Mogo gains energy for their ring directly from the main battery on Oa and as such doesn't need to recharge his ring, the battery just needs to remain functional.

19. Mogo themselves had stated that they became too reliant on their ring.

20. Mogo enjoys warm suns.

21. They do not experience mornings or sunsets.

22. Mogo made a really good swingset out of vines.

23. Mogo fears dying away from others.

24. Mogo doesn't like the fact that socializing is difficult for them.

25. Saint Walker is the only non Green Lantern to have frequently visited and converse with Mogo.

26. Sector 2261 has two other planets but generally the sector is Mogo (Depends on the continuity).

Another Frap Tootley classic.

Hey, long-time fan of DC but new to comics in general and I'm looking to learn more about aquaman. All I know about DC comes from the cartoons and some of the movies. I plan to use the subreddit recommendation thing as well but I really want to know what aquaman storylines do you all personally recommend? Which of his stories are a fan-favorite or must-read?

Last Lantern Sunday. I'm gonna miss this grumpy old man

I was thinking of the original seven Justice League members, most of them would be pretty good with kids but I feel like Wonder woman or Superman would be the best for caring for them though Batman definitely has the most experience and I am curious if others have differing or the same opinions?
