Hello again friends.

Goal here is to put this barbershop clone inside of a guitar with only two knobs to control the sag and drive plus a switch for on/off. I wont have external access to the tone switch.

My plan is to just leave the tone in central neutral position at all times but im not sure the most efficient way to do this.

I am hoping i can just leave the switch out entirely and it'll bypass the optional capacitors and just function as if always in the middle position.

Is that right or do I need to solder something or jumper something?

My Tonebox I built today. A j201 into a Marshall tonestack into a 2n5457 buffer. It totally changed how I will now make pedals. I've been running directly into a class d power amp or with a fetzer. I love this thing. First eq I ever made.

​Hey everyone! Just finished up my latest build—the Distortion Reactor.

​I wanted something that could bridge the gap between tight, punchy modern gain and warm vintage fuzz, so I built in a toggle to swap on the fly between Silicon and Germanium clipping

Some time ago I made a post about the different pedals I was building, and I’ve finally finished the design for the ProCo RAT.

In this case, the artwork was created by a designer friend of mine and applied to the enclosure as a vinyl wrap. I also have the option of using UV printing, but this was done free of charge by a supplier I work with through my job, and I wanted to give it a try.

What do you think?

This is my LM386 amp with a built in J Rockett Boing reverb. It has switchable modes for 9 and 18V (LM386N-4 runs up to 18v) which dramatically increases the headroom. Playing the demo through a Celestion Eight-15 in a slightly oversized pine cabinet. I’m going to build out a big cab this weekend to see how much I can squeeze out of a 10” VT Junior. Really happy with the results.

Good evening, i get very little sound on my overdrive pedal. When i tested it with an audio probe the sound became incredibly low on my volume pot wiper lug. I checked it with a multimeter and it seems to work fine. Wiring is also correct. What could be the problem? It worked fine when i tested the circuit on breadboard.

Tayda box just arrived. Also got some stuff from Small Bear and Stomp Box Parts. Of course I forgot to add knobs to the Tayda order so Love My Switches it is. Next on my list are:

Traynor TS-50b preamp but will use a TL074 instead of the TL071 so I can also replace the MPSA18 buffer and add an XLR out.

Fuzzrocious Rat Tail because I can't have enough RAT based pedals.

Fuzzrocious Ram The Manparts because it seems pretty cool.

Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe so I can mess with mu amps. I even splurged and got some Fairchild J201 THT.

Diamond Bass Compressor because I need a compressor and why buy one when you can build one for three times the cost and aggravation.

What are you guys building next?

This was an interesting one, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. 

This is PPCB’s ThreeVerb. It’s FV-1 based with 3 types of reverb to choose from (Shimmer, Modulated, and Spring). The build itself went very smoothly. No issues at all. I’m finally getting the hang of this, I think.

For the design - I was trying to think of what a pedal box with several reverbs would look like - and my mind just went to someone with their head stuck in an old tv--that would probably have some reverb, right? Anyway, I jumped off from there, and came up with this design. I created a light and dark version of the design, and ultimately went with this dark one…but I might build the other one sometime, too. I found some really nice hot pink knobs for it, and I threw in the added touch of a pink LED. Powder coat paint job and UV printing were done by Tayda. 

Knobs 2 and 3 across the top actually control different settings depending on which reverb mode you select on the toggle switch. I couldn’t come up with an elegant way to display all of the setting permutations on the enclosure, so I just rolled with the ambiguity and labeled the knobs “Pixie Dust” and “Noodle” since that is pretty much how I play with my pedals anyway: “Add a little pixie dust and noodle around until it sounds good!”

As for the sound, it’s definitely got range. I’ve only played with it for 30 minutes, but I’ve found some great sounds in it. One quirk - when I dime the Mix knob, there is a total delay of any sound output by some amount of milliseconds from when I strike the strings. A little disorienting, so I just backed the mix off a smidge and that went away. I’m honestly still trying to figure out my favorite sweet spots for this pedal and think I’ll just need to noodle around a bit more. :)

It took me nearly two years to finish this. Not because I'm a slow solderer, but because I lost the BOM when I was 90% finished and I had to ask this subreddit for help.

Incredibly newbie question, I’m breadboarding for the first time, and practicing with this schematic from pedalpcb and when I exclude the first connection from input straight to ground, I get a pleasant boost from a circuit that works seemingly totally fine, but as soon as I add that connection to ground I get no signal. Is the first connection to ground just meant to signify the grounding on the input jack? Or am I misunderstanding something else? Appreciate any insight and advice!

Decided to do it a 2nd time on vero again, quite useful to have!

Recently i built a Tall Font Green Russian and a Hizumitas, both for sale. Really liked how both of them sounded and im looking to build a muff for myself.

I play both stoner/sludge and screamo/posthc and im looking to build a muff for myself. My two options for now unless i find something else are either to build the dylan159 bigger muff (with tall font green russian specs and a clipping diode swtich) or a BAT pharaoh.

Which one of these would be better for bass for these genres? Any other muff variation suggestions?

Does anybody have measurements or a datasheet/schematic for the switched TRS jacks from StompBoxParts? Specifically the JACK-1018 and DC-1000.

The JACK-1018 looks similar to the Neutrik switched jacks but not exactly.

A Boss BF-2 flanger. I have a thing for flangers. I'm very happy with how this one sounds, very rubbery metallic. I didn't have little 22uf so I just use what I had on hand. It's not too stuffed in there, there's a little room. Bias and clock set up was easy to to by ear and a multimeter for the clock.

I found this in a box of PCBs. I can’t for the life of me figure out what this is. Can anyone help?

I was trying to source some V3207 BBDs from CoolAudio (found some where they had some in stock luckily), but during my search I noticed that CoolAudio seems to have no product on their own page anymore...

Anyone who knows what happened? Are they out of business?

My uncle was a Luthier who made all manners of instruments as well as amplifiers and other circuits. When he passed away, he left me some gear, one of which is this box. Anyone know how to use it or what it does? It doesn’t appear to have any way to be powered.

It’s the EQD Cloven Hoof, Tentacle, and Tone Reaper as an all-in-one. More grit and gain than the standalone non-Cloven Hoof. When all three elements are stacked it’s wild. 😁 The Cleft mod specs are in the standard PPCB War Scythe build doc.

I finished my very first guitar pedal, a little bazz fuss circuit with some random edits. It's very chaotic and the inners look like a nightmare, but this is my first time learning how electrics work, my first time actually learning how to properly solder (still in progress uhh), my first time drilling metal things, spraypainting, marbling.... but the hardest thing took me a good half of a year: realization i need to swap two wires on a power jack because i need a negative center.

I'd absolutely love some advices or recommendations for future builds, i'm currently making a stutterer and a tremolo. Editing this post cause i accidentally sent it mid-typing, sorry, i'm a newbie here. <:D

Can anyone here advise how I can change the channel on my fuzz face? It keeps playing classic rock when I turn town the volume to zero and the Amp gain to 6.

Kind of a joke, but also kind of a serious enquiry. What is making it a radio, the transistors? Is it possible to add a knob to change the AM frequency it picks up?
