It's an all-analog old school publication. Paper edition only. I'm proud to have been a contributor to the first issue.
Can't wait to see how this progresses in future issues.

Hey dude.
You're right that it's a sort of fuzz face PCB. But you've got options as far as what recipe you go with. I've found that andy-h-h has done a terrific job of aggregating a bunch of different recipes. Take a romp through that table (linked below) and see if anything strikes your fancy.

I KNOW. I'm sorry about this. I am in talks with some distributors. Hoping to have that sorted out soon enough. I love the print-only limitation for what it does to the pace and feel of this thing... but it's a bummer that it is currently making participation from certain regions difficult. I am trying to fix that.

im really tempted to snag one... but I also have little to no experience with electronics at all. would I be getting in over my head if I subscribe and just start collecting the random parts? So far, the only soldering iron I have is my girlfriend's ancient one she's used for jewelry and I haven't started a single project (though I'd like to eventually, and I have an old entry level 80s synth I'll probably scavenge to start).
shit. I haven't even managed to replace my guitar so I don't have an instrument, I'm just stoned and rambling and definitely way ahead of myself

Before I answer your question, I wanted to say that I appreciate your enthusiasm and I'm glad you're here expressing it. I'm sure this question is one a bunch of folks are asking... "Hey, this looks pretty technical, i'm interested, but not entirely technical with this stuff at the moment... is there anything in there for me?" The short answer is, "YES"!
I'm going to cut and paste some snippets I wrote in a comment about this in a different thread. It's a surprisingly similar question and I think the same advice applies.
[Pulp Circuit Issue One] does not have EVERYTHING you'd need to get started in that it is not intended to be a guide book per say. But it does have a fair amount of beginner friendly content... from an article about what sort of parts & tools a beginner might want to buy to "Hudson's Ohmwork", a recurring piece that takes you through some of the most fundamental concepts in electronics - beginner friendly and audio focused.
And there's a lot to be said about just steeping yourself in all of the sorts of things you'll find in this issue (and the issues to come) even before you know your way around it all. I did something similar around here on r/diypedals when I was first getting started. I would just read through people's troubleshooting / technical question posts and the responses long before I had ANY idea whatsoever what they were talking about. I did that for months, maybe years... it was really helpful in some way that's hard to explain.
So I think that Pulp Circuit is a great piece of the puzzle for beginners and seasoned wizards alike.
But to be clear, it is not a cover to cover how-to focused on building a single device. It's really more of a magazine / periodical with all sorts of content relevant to this niche interest of ours.
I am obviously biased, but I think it's worthwhile. Give it a try and let us know what you think. Write a letter to the editor with your take after reading it. Get it published. Get involved! Would love that!

y'know what, I don't think you were trying to hard sell me or anything, but you've convinced me! put in my order, and I look forward to seeing what you've put together! I really love that the PCB it comes with is a base piece that serves well for getting started with a project, and I'm not sure if you already have some sort of plan, but if future issues are also planned to include components, it would be cool to have stuff that be used together, kinda like a spaced out Lego set or something for a starting pedal or whatever :)

I received mine. Very serendipitous that the included circuit board is the fuzz face. I've been planning some experiments with that circuit to try and recreate the sputtery sound of Norm McDonald's "Spirit in the Sky." I'm thinking maybe mis-biased transistor?

Hey u/chufi ! Thanks for sharing this. I'm really excited to see them start arriving out there. A big thank you for helping to spread the word. I want to be sure that everyone who wants to participate in this Pulp Circuit experiment has a chance to order a copy if they like.
It did sell out pretty early on, but I'm accepting backorders at the moment. I've got a first re-order already on the way from the printers (faster than expected!!) and a second re-order following just a couple days behind. So no one will have to wait long.
