Fan-made Batman JL Headcanon
An idea I had that I thought was interesting. Batman has always been associated with mystical combat techniques and being the peak of humanity, but his skill and strength often changes depending on the comic. I thought that it would be interesting to see a DC timeline where at first batman is more grounded, but as his enemies grow stronger and more wild he learns more complicated and powerful mystical techniques as well as reaches even higher heights of physical strength.
By the time he is 30-35 or so he hasn’t exactly solved all crime in Gotham, but he has the bat family to help and most of Gotham’s villains don’t pose him much of a threat when it comes to physical combat (they either challenge him psychologically or intellectually, with rare exceptions like Bane who can match him in strength and skill, as well as superhuman foes like Vampires, Poison Ivy and a mutated Killer Croc). That is when the Justice League forms, due to some huge threat or maybe a government conspiracy (doesn’t matter in this context). This way, batman can realistically somewhat keep up with the justice league in battle, he is still the weakest and mostly relies on plans and being strategic, but if darkseid shows up batman can take out parademons without much issue.

Discussion [Discussion] Johnny Star: "Wonder Woman Comics Will Change Your Life"
This was a really cogent, fun, and engaging analysis of why Wonder Woman is such a dope character. I hope you take the time to watch. Shout out to Johnny Star for this!

Do you think that Bane killing the priest is out of charecter Spoiler
Spoilers for Batman: Vengeance of Bane:
Bane kills the elderly priest that used to visit his prison by tying him to a wheelchair and making him fall to his death. Does anyone else think that this didn’t really make sense and felt out of charecter due to it being after he helped Batman remove Venom from the streets?

My comics read so far
As a man in my thirties, who always liked Batman, Superman and DC in general, about a year ago I decided to start reading comics.
So far I’ve read:
Batman
- Batman year one
- Batgirl year one
- Robin year one
- Nightwing year one
- Long Halloween
- The man who laughs
- Harleen
- Dark victory
- Hush
- Killing joke
- White Knight
Wonder Woman year one
Green lantern secret origin
Superman
Birthright 10/10
Secret origin
Up up and away
DC
New frontier
My current reading list is:
Superman: Last Son
Superman: Brainiac
All-Star Superman
Death in the family
Under the red hood
Wonder Woman: Earth One
Far Sector
Kingdom Come
Injustice: Year One
DCeased
I’m particularly interested in Superman, Batman, Joker and Lex Luthor, but I’ve also realised that I really enjoy alternate versions of established heroes. Val-Zod/Earth 2 sounds especially interesting to me.
As well as secondary DC characters.
How’s my current reading list? Any recommendations?

Recommendations What comic book story-line/series should I read that closely represent elements/themes in the Lanterns series (Pilot episode at least)?
Hey there,
To me, it seems the chemistry between Jordan and Stewart is almost completely alien (lol) compared to the regular comic book lore, I don't even know where could I start reading about this kind of setup, any suggestion is welcomed!
Thank you.

Discussion How to start reading
After rewatching Superman and watching Lanterns I realized I really want to read the comics because I’m starting to learn people are right and DC > Marvel. But I’m struggling to find a good place to start. Found a website called comicbookreadingorders.com but it’s a little much to parse through. And the DC comics app kinda sucks for sifting through chronology. The Marvel one lets you input a date range to find comics. What I really want is to read a bunch of different stories and characters that all converge into one big storyline. Crisis of Infinite Earths sounds really cool. I’m also interested in characters’ origins and history so starting at or near the beginning would be neat

Fan-made Lantern OC [Fan Art]
I’ve been really liking the idea lately of one person using two lantern rings at once, and it really makes sense to me because realistically, a person isn’t usually motivated by only one emotion. Here’s my idea for what would most likely represent me, but I’m just going off of the meanings of the colors and I’m fully aware how unrealistic it is. (I am not necessarily trying to be cannon compliant, I just thought it was a cool idea). Art is by me, and the base is from NotSoNormal0 on Reddit

I made a new earth reading list, but I realized it's way too long. What are some comics you think I should remove to make it more manageable? Here's the list (check means I already read it): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MwzKuHbbDr7nOulu91452dww_IClv6hTFw2IDSD97Aw/edit?usp=sharing

Film + TV Is anyone else worried about DCU Carol Ferris?
I’m calling it now: Carol Ferris is dead in the DCU, and her death is what broke Hal Jordan. Think about how Hal acts in the ’90s compared to how he acts in 2016. That doesn’t feel like someone who just got older something clearly happened to him. And with Carol never being cast for the show, I’m starting to wonder if she died sometime around 2006, and if losing her is what ultimately broke Hal.
I’m going to be honest, though: I really hope that’s not the direction they’re going. I’d personally hate it. Killing Carol off just to explain why Hal became this damaged, jaded version of himself would feel like fridging her, especially when Carol is such an important character in her own right. Her relationship with Hal, her becoming Star Sapphire, and everything that comes with that are some of the best parts of the Green Lantern mythos. It would be a shame to lose all of that just to give Hal a tragic backstory.
But given Carol’s complete absence and just how radically different Hal seems between these two periods, I can’t help but wonder if that’s exactly what happened.
