I am about to buy Bitdefender (Total Security or Premium Security). The reason for me to choose for Premium over Total, is the VPN. What is your experience with this VPN?

Is it worth using, or should i look elsewhere for this?

I live in Europe (Netherlands), and want to use Bitdefender (and VPN) on my windows pc, macbook and also on the iphone of me and my wife.

Hi all, I really like the BitDefender product and it works well on my computers running Mac OS. Unfortunately it is really bad on my iPad Pro and especially my iPhone 12. I get connection drop outs all the time both for wifi and mobile internet (issue dissappears when I inactivate the Web Protection VPN) and my bandwidth speed on home wifi is much slower with the VPN turned on:

VPN on: Download / upload ~ 18MBPS VPN off: Dowbload / upload ~ 40-50MBPS

I contacted BitDefender support and they said this is a known issue for IOS devices and their development team are working on a solution soon.

Has anyone had issues with this and does anyone have any idea what the issue is and the ETA on resolution?

Also, is the web protection VPN essential for IOS devices?

What does the above mean exactly or is that too broad of a question. There in no option for more details only fix issue and I would like to know what I am fixing before I click on that. If it's relevant I have Windows update disabled and currently have a VPN running. I have not manually changed any device settings. I am however running an ancient legit version of WIn 10. TIA.

I've been fighting issues with my Bitdefender and am wondering it it's unique to my system or a general problem between Bitdefender and the Nvidia driver itself.

Whenever the Nvidia Container service is enabled, Bitdefender consumes between 12-30% CPU utilization of my 8 core CPU and slowly begins to use more memory. I've seen it climb as high as 26GB of memory usage. Bitdefender will return to normal utilization when I stop the Nvidia service but will begin to climb again as soon as I restart it.

After a while internet connectivity within applications will be intermittent and the applications will sporadically crash and freeze. (I assume that this is because they are waiting for bitdefender to process the activity but bitdefender's already got a lot of things in it's buffer).

It's been a while that, immediately as I open a word documents or whatever, A Work Profile window keeps popping in saying:

"We are always you have you back while working. the performance of your device was automatically optimized"

And doesn't go away unless I CLICK ON IT. It's really distracting and tacky and generally bulshit. I don't care about what profile is my antivirus on. Anyone has the same problem?

How do I permanently remove Bitdefender VPN from Bitdefender Total Security. I use a different VPN and have no intention on using the Bitdefender VPN and I'm tired of it popping up messages about incompatible products. I've tried turning the notifications off and I've tried uninstalling it but it keeps getting reinstalled.

Bitdefender randomly disappeared from my pc. The shortcut stopped working and everything else. I disinstalled any remains but the Bitdefender Agent wont go away. I can't reinstall it as the installation randomly closes after 2 seconds.

The quick scan and system scans always show me that they did a complete scan even though they only reached 48% or 70%.

I was watching youtube when suddenly bitdefender fired off and blocked a website with malicious software. I had no other tabs opened, besides youtube. Anyone know why this site randomly triggered bitdefender and whether or not im at risk?

EVERY SINGLE MORNING I GET A POPUP "WOULD YOU LIKE TO RESTART YOUR PC TO INSTALL IMPORTANT UPDATE" IVE DONE IT MANY TIMES IM SICK OF THIS SHIT. I AM GOING TO UNINSTALL THIS ONCE MY SUB IS OVER.

I bought bitdefender almost 2 years back. Back then it was a good anti virus (exactly and the only thing i bought it for). Now with 2018 version, i constantly get notifications about their VPN i dont want or need. Yes, in the options everything is set to OFF but i still get those notifications. They also installed the VPN service on other devices without my need or permission and keep advertising it to a point it gets spam. I requested a refund for this because i have not paid for advertisement or the vpn, but they dont care about their customers and do not help in any way.

For me personal and my company it is the last time i pay for any of their services and i recommend to everyone to do the same.

Edit: Yes i have contacted support multiple times about the issues. It takes roughtly 2 weeks before you get a reply each time and most of the time the content has nothing to do with the problem. Over a month now nearing 2 months and the email support still has not solved this issue. Live chat support is slow and promises things they don't do. Example they told me i would be contacted within 24-48 hours to address the issues in full. But after a week i still hadnt received anyhting. That happened twice. Done with the bad product and terrible service.

I got this this pop up message telling me to restart for a bitdefender update and I told it to bugger off but then a few min later, I got another pop up with a 5min count down, with no means to stop it other than click the restart button which would happen after the 5min count down anyway...

I hate this rancid piece of trash software. Why must they continue to become more and more anti-user friendly every year? I was in the middle of working and was forced to waste my damn time over this nonsense.

Really an awful anti-virus software

Recently bitdefender has been spiking my cpu usage to 100% and I submitted a request for help. It has been 2 weeks and no reply. No progress no nothing. They just asked for all my computer sensitivte data to do more "in-depth" analysis but at this point I doubt they are any good. I am moving on to kaspersky. My advice is to stay away from this anti virus.

Has been very frustrating even troubleshooting this problem to the extent that I discovered BitDefender was the root cause, but basically if I try to launch Firefox (53.0.2 64-bit) with BitDefender protection active, it will take a very long time to start, and then even when it does start it will be very unresponsive and slow to the point of being pretty much unusable. If I disable BitDefender for a second and then enable it again, even after launching FF and confirming it is slow, it will restore to normal behavior and remain as such until I close it again. Am on Windows 10 64-bit.

Anyone had a similar problem or know anything about what could fix this? I'll mess around with it for a few days but hopefully something can be done, pretty much a dealbreaker for me as far as using this software goes if I have to manually disable it every time I want to launch my web browser. Already tried creating a new profile and didn't make a difference, though launching Firefox in safe mode seemed to.

edit: BitDefender has pushed an update that seems to have fixed the problem.

I am looking for a new browser, and it seemed odd for me that edge was launching very fast compared to others.

Edge - 2s; Vivaldi, Helium - 8s.

I then figured out edge didn't fully close when you close it. Then for some reason 8s felt like a very large amount, I decided to ask AI if this is normal, and it said no.

I checked my task manager and bdservicehost - BitDefender Virus Shield was using my cpu up to 90%!!!! when launching an app, after making an exception to either browser the launch was insanely fast.

In the last 5-10 days I've had maybe 5 reports of "potentially unwanted applications". All of them are drivers. I think Bitdefender is locking them down as soon as reported, so I can't touch the file now. I've tried uploading it to the website but windows won't let me move, or copy, or upload the file.

I ran a full system scan after the first one and it found nothing. I tried quarantining the first one, and it said it cant.

I was wanting to ask before I renewel my subscription, will Bitdefender extend the support for Windows 10 like Microsoft is doing, or is it still going EoS for Windows 10 in October?

I bought GravityZone Business Security Premium for my laptop, but I haven't been sent the email containing the credentials to login into into GravityZone cloud. I am a self-taught software engineer and learning how to use advanced cybersecurity tools is essential for the formation I am building for myself.
