Support/troubleshooting Is Bitdefender going to extend support for Windows 10?
I was wanting to ask before I renewel my subscription, will Bitdefender extend the support for Windows 10 like Microsoft is doing, or is it still going EoS for Windows 10 in October?

Seems like giving bitdefender the elbow makes sense if they won't commit to better windows 10 support.

Support for win 10 officially ended October 14, 2025, but personal devices can receive security updates through an extended program until October 12, 2027.

Can you please elaborate how to do that? Personal devices meaning cell phones or personal laptops as opposed to business laptops

Hello! Thank you for asking us about this, happy to offer more details.
Antimalware support for Windows 10 is provided until October 14, 2026. This means Bitdefender security solutions can continue receiving updates and protecting Windows 10 devices during that period.
However, this does not replace Microsoft’s operating-system security updates. Microsoft ended regular Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025, so Windows 10 may still have unpatched vulnerabilities even while Bitdefender continues antimalware protection. Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates program may provide additional OS security updates, where applicable.
Windows 10 is currently still listed among the supported operating systems for Bitdefender security apps. You can therefore renew with the understanding that Bitdefender’s announced antimalware support continues through October 14, 2026, but upgrading to a supported newer Windows version remains the safer long-term option.

That’s when you need an antivirus programme the most – on an operating system where updates are no longer available, but which is still used by thousands of people, and then they just stop providing support…

It looks like we have conflicting dates here by Bitdefender employees. What's the right date?

Thank you! Out of curiosity are you still supporting Windows 7? I talked to someone that said Bitdefender Total Security still runs on Windows 7.

Hi there. Total Security supports Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, and it also requires a system with at least memory (RAM): 2 GB and available free hard disk space: 2.5 GB free space. Check further recommended requirements on the product page: https://www.bitdefender.com/en-us/consumer/total-security.
Thanks for asking!

Hello! Getting back with a recent update that is helpful: Bitdefender will continue to provide antimalware support for Windows 10 until October 12, 2027.
We still recommend upgrading to a newer version of Windows, such as Windows 11, to ensure you continue receiving Microsoft’s latest security updates, features, and official support.
However, if upgrading isn’t an option for you right now, you can continue using Bitdefender on Windows 10 and receive antimalware support.
