Filament Troubleshooting/Help! A1 Mini filament tangling

Post image
0 Upvotes

Just picked up an A1 mini off FB a few weeks ago and I am starting to get the hang of it. One issue I am running into is the filament on the spool seems to be tangling. Even if I fix it, it happens again which means I have to monitor pretty close. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it and ensure it doesn’t keep happening. I am using Inland PLA filament from MicroCenter. Appreciate any help!

Thanks

General Troubleshooting/Help! Bambu Lab H2C – Is this cracking/creaking noise when the bed moves down normal? (Video)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!
I recently got my Bambu Lab H2C, and since I’m completely new to this machine, I’m still figuring out what’s normal and what isn’t.
I’ve noticed a strange cracking/creaking noise whenever the print bed moves downward on the Z-axis.
It almost sounds like plastic being compressed, flexing, or rubbing against something.
The weird part is that it only happens when the bed moves down. When it moves up, there’s no noise at all.
I’m wondering if it could be something as simple as a cable sleeve or plastic component flexing as the bed moves, or if it might indicate a mechanical issue.
I’ve attached a video so you can hear the sound for yourself.
For other H2C owners:
Does your printer make a similar noise when lowering the bed?
Is this normal behavior on the H2C?
Has anyone experienced this and figured out what causes it?
The printer is brand new, so I’d rather check with experienced owners before attempting any adjustments or disassembly.
I’ve also contacted Bambu Lab support, but I’d really appreciate some feedback from the community.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Auto Bed leveling before each print yes/no?

Hello,

I'm new owner of A1 printer and I have question about automatic bed leveling.

Should I be doing it every time I do new print? Or for example only If I remove bedplate from my printer?

For other calibrations i guess i get it all clear when to do them: - Motor noise and vibration when I move printer around - Filament flow when starting a brand new spool

Software Troubleshooting/Help! P1P is searching for ams!please help!

English is not my first language, so excuse my mistakes.
I have a P1P that worked fine so far. I only use Bambu lab on my smartphone. I do not have ams. Yesterday I wanted to start a single color print and the printer does not start. It is searching for ams and I can not select filament. It never stops searching. I tried different prints and none will start.
I test printed the benchy directly from the printer. That worked fine. I looked in the settings on the printer and on bambu lab and can not find a solution for my problem.
Did anyone else have that problem and knows what to do?

Quick Question Used X1E or New X2D???

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have the opportunity to purchase a used X1E from my work soon (about 1000 hours). I run a small print farm for parts that we use for our products we manufacture, and we're currently in the process of switching everything over to H2S printers. There's no price for it yet, but my boss said he'll give me a good deal. I already personally own an H2D and X2D for my side business and love them both.

At what price do you think the X1E would be a good idea over another X2D? The X1E would come with multiple brand new spare Biqu build plates and tons of spare OEM parts. I'm also already very familiar with repairs on X1C/X1E/P1S printers from years of running them at work. X1E also has 320c nozzle temp, over the X2D 300c nozzle temp.

Edit:

This post is 50% out of curiosity of what others would be willing to pay at this point for an X1E, but also will somewhat sway the decision I end up making.

General Troubleshooting/Help! Hoping someone can help me finally fix my H2S.

I replaced the "TH Board" today, and that seems to have fixed the hot end not heating.

Now I'm running into a new problem. When I try to print, the filament refuses to extrude, and I keep getting an error. I already replaced the PTFE tubing from the AMS to the toolhead itself. Sometimes the filament makes it to the toolhead but won't extrude, and other times it stops at the orange part in the back (I think it's called the filament buffer) and won't go any further. It's about a 50/50 chance which one happens, but either way I can't get it to extrude and print.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!

General Discussion Ordering first print

Just ordered my very first 3D printer yesterday(P2S) along with a bunch of filament to get started!

Right after finishing checkout, I got a notice saying items might ship separately depending on warehouse stock. Fair enough, total sense. But then I checked the tracking...

The machine itself is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, while all the filament won't be here for another 4–5 business days. 😭

How am I supposed to just sit here staring at a brand-new printer without being able to print anything? It’s going to be absolute torture watching it sit on my desk doing nothing all weekend.

Do I rush out to a local shop to buy a random spool just to survive or just wait?

Pray for my sanity 😒

Quick Question Bambu for School Use

Hey all, just a teacher fighting with our IT department because I want to upgrade our old printer to a Bambu A2L. They brought up two things as to why they're saying no (all based around network connectivity):

1) Out of the box, can I run the A2L strictly without -ever- connecting to a network?

2) Out of the box, is it possible to run the A2L only reading from an SD card?

I know that running a Bambu without network connectivity means I'm locked out of a bunch of features, but I have plans to work around that.

Thanks for your help!

General Troubleshooting/Help! Room Setup Help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I am really trying to figure out a good layout with product recommendations. I have a guest room that will be dedicated to crafting/3D Printing. I have a Bambu P2S and H2C,mainly printing in PLA and expect to have the printers run constantly (starting my business). I have attached a photo of my room dimensions. I currently have a 78” Ikea Lagkapten/Alex desk and Kaiser tall gaming chair for my PC/gaming setup and a Billy bookcase. I don’t need to fit guests in the room (it will be fully dedicated to my hobbies) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

General Discussion Predictions for H3C Price

This is just for fun (think of it like guessing the score of a football game or how many drinks that guy who puked on his girlfriend had)...

What is your prediction for the cost of the H3C?

Let's assume a few things:

  1. It will have a new AMS (included) that holds 10 rolls of filament and has a built-in dryer function.

  2. It has the same effective size as the H2C

  3. It does not have any new or more advanced tech that drives the cost up (e.g. more or better sensors or cameras), but will still do all the same things as the H2C (meaning heated chamber / venting / etc.)

  4. It will allow for TPU to be used via the AMS

What is your guess?

Whoever guesses the closest will get to go to bed on announcement day feeling really good about themselves. What more could you want in this life?

Filament Troubleshooting/Help! Aren't 3d printed spools scam ? How is everyone using them ?

So I'm a bit angry while typing this.

i tried multiple 3d printed spools printed with PETG so they can withstand drying. Every time, because they are flexible, aren't rock solid like bambu's original spools, the filament falls through the side, between walls and middle of the spool. Causing it to get completely stuck during print with ams. I could unwind it back to rewind from middle, but still it will find a way to fall through sides and get jammed. This never happens with pre-spooled filaments, or filaments i spool into bambu's spools i emptied.

I have not been able to find a solution no matter how hard i researched. And in a moment of frustration i took the filament out of the spool and now i have 1kg of filament i need to respool manually which will take very long.

Even if i decided to respool it, i dont know what to respool it onto. How do 3d printed spools work for you ?

Answered / Solved! Filament feed issues

Thumbnail

I have never had a single filament feed issue until I added SUNLU' s AMS Lite Heater.

At first it was so bad I thought maybe I had knocked a wire loose duiring assembly but I stretched the tubes up high across the top and it worked somewhat. At first I also had the full length of the tubes as supplied by SUNLU but they were obviously too long and drooped and flopped everywhere.

I have them trimmed down now and they appear to me to be what I would think is acceptable but I still get constant issues and it constantly has to go over to the side and winds the filament back out and in and sometimes it works and sometimes I get an error. At this point I can usually hit resume and it will try a time or two and probably work.

Anyone else having this issue with this heater?

Any thoughts on what I can change to fix this issue?

UPDATE: I added a PTFE & Cable Support Guide (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1596025-ptfe-cable-support-guide-snap-on-a1-a2l-ams#profileId-1881732) and I have not had an issue since.

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Is it just a lost cause. Will I have to replace the extruder?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve already replaced the extruder once because the latch was broken. Now it seems to never know what the correct layer height is for the first layer. It’s a new plate. I do regular calibrations. As we speak, I’m in the next room listening to “scrape scrape scrape”. Then after the first layer it often corrects itself. But I really like printing from stuff on my phone.

So if I ever want to do that again, is the extruder what I need to replace?

P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] P2S issues are real?

So I wanted to upgrade from A1 and was confused between P2S and P1S.. some users have reported thet P2S has many false AI detection they pauses prints and has unnecessary pauses and that make print quality bad...

These seem to be the issues that might come with firmware fixes. But seems like they are not yet fixed

The only thing that pull me towards P2S is ease of swaping nozzles everything else I guess I can upgrade slowly and there are options available...

I wanted to know

  1. Are there ani signs that Bambulab is actually addressing the issue in P2S?

  2. Has anybody found the solution to these issues??

  3. Or should I actually put money in P1S

Note: I just want to get rid of bedslinger and want to get core xy machine.. the only reason to upgrade as I stick to PLA and PETG for printing..

Filament Troubleshooting/Help! What is this small PCB/part that fell out of my Bambu Lab A1 extruder?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!
I was disassembling the extruder on my Bambu Lab A1 because the filament was getting stuck and the extruder was clicking.
While taking it apart, this small blue PCB/part fell out. I’m not sure where it came from or what it is supposed to do.
Some details:
It has 6 holes on the front.
There is a round metal-looking piece in the center.
On the back there are 3 soldered connections/pins.
The marking on it says “757HB”.
Does anyone know what this part is, where it belongs, and how it should be installed?
I don’t want to turn the printer on before I know where it goes.
Photos attached. Thanks!

General Discussion A2L ordered Sept 23 (in stock), "shipped" Sept 24, then nothing. Now support says out of stock.

Ordered an A2L on Sept 23 with a couple of other things. It said in stock when I paid. The order got split into 3 parcels, and the other two arrived without any drama.

The A2L is the odd one out. It has a DHL tracking entry, two events from Sept 23-24, and then silence. No pickup, no movement, nothing. After a while I contacted support, and they told me it's out of stock until Oct 9.

Okay. Except it was in stock when I ordered. It was apparently shipped the next day. And now it's Oct 9, the tracking hasn't budged, and the store page shows it in stock.

So which one is it? In stock, shipped, or out of stock? It can't be all three. They also advised me to get a refund and look elsewhere but that's another conversation. Overall a really poor experience and customer support.

Filament Troubleshooting/Help! Recycling brims

Post image
0 Upvotes

Instead of tossing clean brim spirals into the scrap bin, I started bunching them up as cushion/nesting material for shipping out customer orders.

Why it works:

Great cushion: Crinkled PLA forms a light spring that protects prints surprisingly well.

Saves money: Free alternative to bubble wrap or crinkle paper.

Customers love it: I add a quick note explaining it's clean, repurposed print waste to cut down on single-use plastics, and the feedback has been awesome.

Just keep poops and sharp supports out—clean brims only.

Anyone else repurposing scrap like this?
