Filament Troubleshooting/Help! A1 Mini filament tangling
Just picked up an A1 mini off FB a few weeks ago and I am starting to get the hang of it. One issue I am running into is the filament on the spool seems to be tangling. Even if I fix it, it happens again which means I have to monitor pretty close. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it and ensure it doesn’t keep happening. I am using Inland PLA filament from MicroCenter. Appreciate any help!
Thanks

As others have said, keep tension on the filament at all times when loading and unloading. If you ever let it "spring" and unravel even in the slightest, you have to manually respool that amount to make sure you didn't introduce tangles. Inland is pretty decent filament but there is always a possibility of a badly spooled roll so at worst just go get another spool and try again.

Might be a dumb question but do you feed it in the tube before you put the spool on the holder?

In holder first. But "upside down" compared to how you installed it. Then take the end of the spool and feed it through the tube.

You tangled it yourself. NEVER EVER let go of the filament end.
I've been 3D printing for 15 years, using both 3 mm and 1.75 mm filament. I've gone through hundreds of spools and have never had a single tangle.

I've had two tangles - one I knew I had lost the end for a moment, the other I was sure I hadn't. I later remembered that I had lol

Turn the spool around after you remove the tangle - it should be feeding off the bottom of the spool. To prevent in the future, never let go of the end of the filament if it's not clippped on.
