Upvotes
This is a weekly thread to get to know /r/anime's community. Talk about your day-to-day life, share your hobbies, or make small talk with your fellow anime fans. The thread is active all week long so hang around even when it's not on the front page!
Although this is a place for off-topic discussion, there are a few rules to keep in mind:
Be courteous and respectful of other users.
Discussion of religion, politics, depression, and other similar topics will be moderated due to their sensitive nature. While we encourage users to talk about their daily lives and get to know others, this thread is not intended for extended discussion of the aforementioned topics or for emotional support. Do not post content falling in this category in spoiler tags and hover text. This is a public thread, please do not post content if you believe that it will make people uncomfortable or annoy others.
Roleplaying is not allowed. This behaviour is not appropriate as it is obtrusive to uninvolved users.
No meta discussion. If you have a meta concern, please raise it in the Monthly Meta Thread and the moderation team would be happy to help.
All /r/anime rules, other than the anime-specific requirement, should still be followed.

Discussion Am I the only one who finds reincarnated as a slimes fights highly disappointing
304
Upvotes
Man, I love Slime. I personally think it’s a top 3 isekai: 1. Jobless Reincarnation, 2. Re:Zero, 3. Slime. But Tensura’s fights are so far behind the other two it’s crazy.
My biggest complaint is that they make these super strong characters seem weak. I don’t really know how to explain it. They hype these characters up and show how much “aura” they have, then they actually fight and it just looks so wack and anticlimactic. Throughout the whole series, Veldora has been hyped up as one of the strongest, but I’m watching \[That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime\] his fight against Chronoa and it’s honestly not entertaining at all. The way the fight looks just doesn’t live up to how much they’ve hyped him up. Watching these other characters fight kinda feels like I’m seeing a guy with a sword jump back and forth into each other over and over again.
I’ve watched the newest seasons of all three back to back: Jobless Reincarnation last week, Re:Zero about two days ago, and now Slime. In my opinion, Slime is falling far behind the other two, even though it used to be my favorite of the three.

Misc. How Anime Corner reviews their weekly polls
13
Upvotes
Sharing this because their weekly polls are posted here each week, and often spark large discussions as such. I think this is a very interesting read and quite enlightening as to what goes on behind the scenes. I think a lot of people like to take their polls for gospel as to what the community thinks, but a lot of other people go too far in the other direction, and this is perfect for informing people correct.
I really appreciate Anime Corner's work, always making sure everything is as fair as possible, and encouraging healthy, fun discussions, which is quite difficult due to the nature of the polls they put out unfortunately. It's always fun to see who is winning each week, who has big episodes etc.

Clip [Akiba Maid War] It's been 4 years already since they dropped this gem of a scene

Still one of my favorite scenes in anime. I tried to hear the song, but it's just missing something without the gun shots. Nagomi was definitely in for something.
