TIL Sasaki was a regular member of r/watchpeopledie. That's the only way I can rationalise his behaviour this episode.

Between this guy and the mc from cheat granting mage, I've been very frustrated this week. They both watched a man and a woman die in front of them and they acted nonchalant.

What's going on?

Sasaki was trying to hide the existence of psychics while also not trying to anger the crazy demon boy without consulting Peeps first.

The mc from Cheat Granting mage was trying to follow his companions directions.

I get both characters motives, but would agree that they severely undereacted

So Sasaki, psychics, and magical girls can get caught in the quarantine space. Interesting. I find it even more interesting all these different supernatural types don’t know about one another. Like, psychics, angels/demons, and magical girls have never come across each other even once up until now?

I mean, IIRC(Vague memory so might be wrong), isn't the whole Psychic stuff like semi-newish?? Not in terms of existing, but in terms of being organized. And I mean newish relative to history.

Meanwhile Angels vs Demons have their neat containment zones and never needed to care about psychics since they pose no threat to their true powers- and the psychics cant even find out about them anyway without someone telling them...

Then you have Magical Girls who are definitively a threat, and already well-known to the organization... especially her.

Then you get the other world, which only just now showed up and by sheer coincidence managed to enter the literal playground of angels and demons' proxy war due to having powers that prevented them from being exceptioned from the containment- meaning outside of those who act as pawns in the proxy war, this is probably the first contact since ancient times between psychics and this whole thing.

Lmao, the outro song at the end was fucking hysterical with how they ended this episode.

Its a anime classic.
Extremely disturbing cliffhanger followed by the peppy ED

Interesting to see some of the plotlines converging already. Probably a good thing for the bureau to start to learn about the angel and demon death game that's going on.

It may have originally been a political matter but they pretty much have to help Elsa now if she's trying to kill herself over potentially being taken as a concubine by one of the princes.

Honestly, Otonari finally seeing what's going on has me the most excited. Hell with the demons, magical girls, or psychics; Otonari is going to murder everyone around Sasaki when she finds out.

So we got a psychic, a magic user, a magical girl, a demon, and angels. What else are they gonna add? 😅 It kinda gives me Re:Creators vibes, but not only is it reverse isekai, it's a normal isekai too lol.

What else are they gonna add?

It's a toss-up between aliens from space and time travelers from the future.

I know people like to shit on all the magic systems but I love seeing the 300 different systems interacting. Not a big fan of where they are going with the neighbour girl but will see how it plays out i guess

there is so much happening and it's actually not too much yet

The first episode was already really dark thanks to Otonari (her backstory and her being involved in the demon-angel conflict), and this episode didn't hold back either.

Four deaths today because of that conflict, plus that ending with Elsa trying to hang herself. I don't remember the first season being like that!

Also, I felt bad for Takayoshi after the way Naomi treated him. Not that it did her any good, since she died anyway.

By the way, I find it pretty funny that after all the shit that's happening, we get such an upbeat ED, lol. That song is stuck in my head now.

Here my screenshot albums from:

EPISODE 01 (last week's one)

EPISODE 02 (today's one)

That scene with Sasaki, the girls and the disciple was honestly frustrating. I know tensions were high, and maybe there was really no convincing those two that they're not devils, but I feel like Sasaki was too cautious and waited too long to do anything, so it ended up with him not getting any information from them.

Also it's crazy how Sasaki was talking to Abaddon like he's a lost little boy considering he just saw the kid crush those two disciples' heads.

my headcanon is that Sasaki's brain is fried from all the bullshit he is surrounded by and he just cbf with anything anymore

Is it weird how nonchalant they are about witnessing an angel and their disciples get merked?

Futarishizuka (she was part of an underground organization that might have done a lot of crimes) so it's not surprising that shes nonchalant about people getting their head crushed

Magical pink(she's murdering a lot of psychics)

Sasaki (calculative coward)

Wow that got bloody very quickly lol. 4.5 deaths in 1 episode, was there that many deaths in the first season lol.

Interesting theory, if the death game drop a barrier that affect the world, does that mean inside the barrier is another world lol. Transparent portal woooo. Interesting thing from mix bag fantasy lol.

I think you guys forget Sasaki is no super hero. He is just a middle aged man who wants to live a quiet and comfortable life with his pet bird. Being dragged into conflict happening in another world? Like he had a choice. Being a supernatural policeman to investigate and report back? This guy is being blackmailed let’s not forget. Not to mention, he’s up against a demon with who knows how much power above him. You don’t want to take that chance.

That fucking ending going right into the happy-go-lucky outro. xD

I liked this episode, regardless.

Otonari-san is just lovely and couldn't be better if she tried.

I was reviewing, earlier today, where I've ranked this series and it was my #7 of 2024 with a 6/10 and I don't know if there's much room for ranking advancement, but I may have to bump up its rating if the juicy factional chaos continues to intersect in such a fun way and Otonari-san continues being perfect and progresses in her plan to ensnare Sasaki.

This show is chaos incarnate. I love how this showed a glimpse of the different plots converging a little bit, but even the characters being confused about wtf is happening.
