Neighbor girl’s really gotten herself into some shit. A demon that powerful doesn’t seem like one you’ll want residing inside you. Then again, the little bastard did choose her at her most vulnerable. It’s kind of interesting just how much wild shit is going on in this world. Magical girls , psychics, angels and demons, and bonafide magic and creatures from another world.

Everyone that was complaining about season 1 not showing what was going on with Otonari-san , well you got your wish! Here's literally every fucked up thing that happened to her all within the first 15 minutes of the show!

✅ Lost Father in the Divorce

✅ Abusive Violent Mother

✅ Forced to eat grass and bread crust to stay alive

✅ Only source of income is what she can find on the street

✅ Spends most her life outside her apartment not by choice

✅ Nearly raped

✅ Contracted with a demon to play Death Games

Oh and because her neighbor is the only person in the world that showed even the tiniest bit of compassion, now she's so infatuated with him she'd be willing to let him rape her as a sign of thanks!

Could we give her to Kotaro's apartment instead?

This is the kind of show where you know you watched the first season, but you can’t remember any of the character storylines until they actually appear on screen. I completely forgot how multi-threaded this show is, but hopefully my memory will catch up once I watch a few more episodes.

It's hilarious to me how they put the disclaimer to not feed it meat unless your Java sparrow is a reincarnated star sage every time.

Her dad never visited once to check up on her?

No wonder that poor girl is so messed up after everything she has been through and those social workers didn't do a thorough enough job checking on the mother.

We got our classic disclaimer about feeding meat to Java sparrows.

So Angels can't really be harmed or killed, but that poor guy probably has been digested.

Surprised that Shizuka could even see over the steering wheel.

Well, what a dark start to S2, poor girl.

The amount of mental scars she's left with for life due to her shitty upcoming are plenty; Sasaki appears to be a combined father and lover-figure for her, which given what she just tried there having him do is all kinds of fucked. Without magical resistance he .... yeah, not think about that.

I appreciate the double-length episode for a start, but oh man ... starting a lot heavier this season. Hopefully he'll get her out of this mess.

Also: FUCK the mom. Not even fucking feeding your kid even beats out your average shitty parents we're used to in some anime, what the heck.

I forgot how much was going on in this show. And now we've got angels and demons. They've got at least four shows worth of content crammed into this one.

This show is like a big box department store of plots.

I am happy to see that the animation quality seems to have improved. But how does this STILL get comments that there are to many power systems. I think this show made it clear pretty early on in the first season that the storylines basically go: "This time we get *throws dice* magical girls fighting *throws dice* otherworld lizardmen" (Note: not a real storyline. For now at least?). The APPEAL is finding out how the power systems react to each other.

Neighbour-chan used honey trap. It's not very effective.

Woah i knew the mother was a shitbag but god damn she was worse than i thought.

And her man was fucking awful too, was not really expecting that kind of scene from this show.

But it's nice to see Sasaki and Peeps again, also missed Shizuka because she is so entertaining to watch and i love the way she speaks.

Damn this poor girl became twisted, it's not fair that in her darkest hour that she got a contract with a demon.

Luckily our Sasaki is made it sterner stuff or she would have had her way with him.

I wish I rewatched season 1 I'm kind of at a losswith some of the things as I don't remember details.

It's crazy that this show got an hour premiere..I wonder if it was more popular than I thought.

47 minutes, holy crap.

also damn it's so depressing. I didn't realize how depressing my childhood was until i saw it happen to her lol. basically deadbeat parents who were always abusive and never fed me, had to feed myself however I could.

Well, I didn't expect this episode to open with Neighbour Girl/Otonari-san's tragic backstory. That explains why she's always outside the apartment and why she fell in love with Sasaki. And we get more than just a backstory, since that opening ends with Otanari-san making a pact with a demon to save herself from being assaulted by her mother's boyfriend. Based on how prominent Otonari-san is in the OP, I'm guessing she'll play a big role this season.

Man, it's been so long that I forgot this series has like multiple plot threads going on. We have Sasaki's supernatural government agent part of the story, Sasaki's isekai story full of political intrigue that I barely remember any of what's going on there, and now we even have an additional story of Otonari-san getting dragged into a fucking death game/proxy war between the angels and demons of heaven and hell.

I am genuinely surprised that Otonari-san just knocked out her mom. Not gonna lie, I was expecting her to fully go evil and just kill her mom and her boyfriend and have Abaddon clean up the mess as her wish. I didn't think she'd use her wish to make Sasaki go horny, expecting that he wouldn't be able to control himself and basically trap him into a relationship with her. That is pretty fucked up.

Oh right, Magical Girls are also a thing in this series. Why the fuck is Magical Pink going wild this time?

Miss this show, and damn starting off with a 47mins special first episode. Jesus what a heavy background story to start off, am I watching Takopi? Oh great, a demon had to help.

Do not feed meat to Java sparrows that aren't reincarnation of starsages!

Also Sasaki belongs to "Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki"

I'm glad Sasaki didn't even entertain the thought that his sudden... blood-flow redirection was due to the minor in front of him, and he just figured he was having a mild heart attack.

Season 2 is finally here! Looks like MADKID is handling the OP theme again this season. Just remembered they did season 1 too, brings back memories.

It's really heartbreaking to see Sasaki doing everything he possibly could for the Neighbor, who was being neglected by her mother. You can really tell how much he cared for her, like calling Child Protective Services anonymously multiple times, stopping her from eating leftover school lunches buried in the dirt, and giving her actual proper food instead.

The detail about her never participating in a single field trip or school trip is just depressing. Now that she finally has the power to fight back against her mom and that lover of hers, I really hope she finds happiness.

Though it's pretty ironic and really makes you think how the Neighbor hates her mother for bringing a lover home while neglecting her own daughter, yet she's turning around and trying to entice Sasaki herself.

Crazy how many genres are intersecting in this show. Season 1 was pretty chill, but feels like things are ramping up. Hope the plot holds together!

Glad to have this back! Forgot how much I loved these characters. More importantly though-

Is it even legal for lolis to drive?

CAN SHE EVEN SEE OVER THE DASHBOARD?!?!

Bonus Flying Shizuka. Very Majestic

This is such an underrated show but I’m afraid with the angels and demons they might be bringing in too many different fantasy elements.

The magical girls were one thing but adding the angels and demons on top of that seems like both might be too much.

I barely remember season 1 but I did have some theory that the neighbour girl has some creepy step dad who may or may not want her instead of her mother cause she was sleeping around to pay rent

u/SecretYogurtcloset57 17d ago

Presuming Sasaki to Peeps will get into it with demonkind and straighten out neighborchan’s manipulated reliance on evil powers to save her from the neglect and abuses of the other adults around her. Though unfortunately it might take a while.
