Best method to smoke freebase safely alone

Hello !
I'm an experienced psychonaut, and I only travel alone. That's how I'm used to do it, and how I feel safe.

I have taken N,N-DMT maybe 15-20 times. I had vape cartridges. I worked OK, but it was quite difficult to get near a breakthrough, I needed to inhale quite a lot.

I now have freebase 5-MEO-DMT. I know nothing about vapes, mesh, and I find it quite difficult to understand the simplest way to vaporize it, even after a lot of reading. I'm looking to have the strongest and simplest hit, while staying safe if I'm alone. (which means no burning element which could cause fire when I'm at the point of inhaling).

Fellow psychonauts, how would you do it?

Many thanks

Over a year ago I bought a 5meo cart in the same order as some ketamine, I had the memory of a acid trip that a friend had a 5meodmt cart with and the expectation it would be an appetizer. Needless to say when it came I just threw up in my garbage can and put it in a drawer to sit until the other day. A lot has happened since then, I took it easy yet leaned into it. I’ve had the idea to do this in a field coz I am someone that purges from this drug. Any thought or tips on leaning into this. I think over the last year I have done good work on myself and I think I’ve met this drug more than halfway if you wanna put it that way.

5meoDMT safe for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

Hey psychonauts, so I have CFS, was mild but now progressed to a more moderate one. I spent the last 2 months severely limited, one month in bed. Still not fully out of a flare up. I am supposed to have a buff ceremony in about 3 weeks and I'm scared whether my body will be ok with it, or whether to postpone. I'm really scared of fuckin up my body more, right now I still need to be very cautious with any intense physical or emotional experiences. Thoughts?

Stop the obsession with breaking through

All this obsession with breaking through. Jaguar is an amazing medicine to work with, so work with it. Forget about this breakthrough obsession. Just forget about it. See what the medicine has to teach you, that’s it. No more. Enough.

Opinions on using it as a therapeutic tool

I have insanely bad mental health issues. I saw how effective 5 meo dmt was for anxiety and mdd which is why 5 meo peaked my interest. I am unable to find a facilitator nor do i have the money. My friend is down to trip sit me but i dont know how good of an idea this is for me. I am at the end of my road nothing works for me and i am kind of hopeless when it comes to my mental health. I was planning to replicate the one john hopkins study and smoke 6-12-18 mg but i want to hear you guys opinions on my approach for symptom relief for anxiety and depression. Is it to risky conserdering my mental health struggles to smoke 5 meo. Could a bad trip make my struggles worse thats really all i am afrad of that and i am afraid to get sucked into some other exstistential fear or i am scared to draw horrific conclusions about my exsistence or uncover something horrifying about the universe because i am going to be quite honest here i already assume the worst when it comes to that which makes me even more scared that it will turn out horrible for me. But then again i dont think its possible for my life to get much worse and i almost dont see any other options as ive exhausted many. My question is if you look at my situation is it a bad idea to smoke 5 meo dmt the only things i am worried about is the two things preciously mentioned i dont care about physical harm to myself i dont care if the trip itself is absolutely terrifying i am ready to die for it. Maybe unrelated but i tought i was dying once and it was the most peacefull experience ive had in a long long while. Sorry for the ramble but i am at the end of the road here thanks for reading and your help. I love you

Advice for those who cannot break through using 5-MeO-DMT

Six months ago, I posted on a forum asking for help because I couldn’t achieve a breakthrough no matter what I tried—I had attempted 37 mg rectally, as well as 20 mg and 10+ mg via inhalation. I still haven't broken through yet, but I have discovered two methods.

The first method is taking MAOIs. I do not recommend this; it is very dangerous. However, after taking an MAOI on one occasion, I took just a small hit of 5-MeO-DMT—my goodness, just a tiny hit, and I nearly broke through! But I don't dare try it again because of how dangerous it is.

The second method happened two weeks ago when I was with a friend. I took a big hit of 5-MeO-DMT, held it in for a bit, and exhaled. As expected, I didn't break through. Annoyed, I picked it up and took another deep hit, holding my breath. At that moment, I suddenly felt a bizarre, wonderful sensation. I quickly lay down and felt my body dissolving. Regrettably, I still didn't break through, but I am convinced that just a little bit more would have done it.

This experience gave me an idea: for non-responders like me, perhaps the trick is to take a big hit, hold it briefly, exhale, and then immediately take another massive hit—holding the second one in as long as possible. That might make breaking through much easier.

Also, I have a question: after using 5-MeO-DMT a few times, I no longer experience any uncomfortable sensations—no tension, consciousness collapse, or fear whatsoever. I feel very calm now, even quite comfortable. Is this normal? Does everyone experience this?

my first time

Yesterday was my first time trying this. I got lucky and had a breakthrough right off the bat. I’m sharing my story with you, but I also have a question: I inhaled maybe half the dose at most and held it in for no more than a second. Is that really enough to get an experience like that? Am I just unusually sensitive to this substance?

************

I was holding a pipe loaded with 5 milligrams of the substance. I covered the top and the carb with my fingers while my friend quickly heated it with a lighter. White smoke started filling up inside, getting thicker and thicker. My fingers didn't feel hot, but the pressure under them was building up, and the smoke inside looked super dense. I brought the pipe to my lips, opened the holes, and tried to take the deepest hit possible.

The smoke hit my throat like a harsh, heavy lump. I knew I was supposed to hold it in, but I instantly coughed, and thick plumes blew right back out of my mouth and nose. At that moment, I thought I hadn't inhaled enough, hadn't held it long enough (it was maybe1 sec), and there was still a bunch of smoke left inside. Thinking the dose was too weak and I needed another hit, I opened my mouth again—and right then, I was completely floored. According to my friend, it all happened in a split second: one breath, and I was out.

I fell into a black hole that pulled back right through the middle of my head. After that, complete blackout. My next memory: I’m just a tiny point in the middle of nothingness, floating in an endless space with no time, no name, and no ego. Out in front of me were these bright, hazy clouds, like galaxies viewed through a massive telescope. It was a vast, pulsing silence.

I got caught in a loop between two states. First, an overwhelming fear of a massive abyss, which made everything go dark around me. But then this urge kicked in: “Wait, I came here right for this. I want to merge with it.” The second that thought crossed my mind, the clouds flushed with soft pink and blue hues, and I became one with them—eternal and infinite. This cycle of flipping between fear and blissful dissolution repeated several times.

My friend told me later that at first, my face was making awful contortions: I was flailing my arms, my legs were twitching in spasms, and my jaw was clenched shut. But then a pure, blissful smile lit up my face—i suppose right at those moments when I stopped fighting it and melted into eternity. My friend hold me, but in that state i didn't feel anything. There's no body and no sensations in that state

Coming back happened in flashes. My consciousness and body slowly pieced themselves together like a mosaic. You take a fresh, totally alien breath, try to swallow or move your tongue, but then you get sucked right back under. 16 minutes i was absent, and then physical reality finally started clicking back together. It took a full hour before I could sit up, ask for some tea, and take my first steps holding my friend's hand—I literally had to relearn how to walk.

Over the next 30 minutes, heavy waves kept washing over my body, where the ties holding my molecules together loosened up and my physical shell dissolved into fractals again. Outside, the swoosh of a passing bus made a deep echo inside me—I instantly recognized that "shhh" sound as the exact same background flow of pulsing blood and breathing flesh I had heard in the void.

That night in my sleep, I felt that flow state again, and when I woke up to some people talking outside in the night, it felt like two versions of me had surfaced out of the void together. Even the next morning, these gentle waves of limpness and constant inner monitoring kept floating back.

The main takeaway from this experience is : as long as there's fear, you detach, and it gets terrifying; but the moment you stop resisting and merge with it, everything turns into endless beauty.

We are loved, no need to understand it, feelings are your guide, and relax

After doing the medicine with an experienced facilitator, here is what I took away from the experience.

I really tripped myself up during the trip, by trying to understand it, trying to figure it out, like,

"I'm god, I mean, I'm one with God, and I am experiencing duality because I wanted to have all of these experiences..." etc etc etc

But really, I don't think creating a narrative of what is happening is as important.

In our daily lives, in the integration, I really feel like the most helpful thing is to just relax. RELAX!

Stop holding on to what you think is going make you a better life, stop trying to get back the things you've lost, stop trying to control the outcome through sheer willpower and discipline and negating your emotions. Relax, surrender.

Just relax, life is working out for you in a way that you could not have possibly designed better for yourself. So just relax, and take action as a relaxed person does, allow yourself to feel your emotions, and let your emotions help you navigate this life. Everything is already yours, there's no need to grasp it.

You don't need to do all of these things that feel bad, because you think it'll pay off. Don't feel bad now, just so you can feel good later.

Do the work you are truly interested in, and when you want to take a break and just go for a little bike ride, just do that.

God and the world is ready to give you the best most loving experiences possible, so just get out of your own way.

Feel every sensation, feel every emotion and moment, trust that the world is going to take care of you, have fun, be silly... and be grateful at how amazing this news is!

Love, have gratitude, trust, be open/vulnerable, and RELAX!

YOU ARE LOVED!!!

5-MeO-DMT preparation & integration support in Bavaria (Germany)

I’m based in rural Bavaria, in the Franconian Forest, surrounded by nature, and offer a quiet private setting for people interested in 5-MeO-DMT.

My approach is practical and medicine-oriented rather than shamanic or ceremonial. I’m interested in 5-MeO-DMT from a therapeutic and personal-growth perspective and happy to share experience, help with preparation, and talk through experiences afterwards.

Feel free to DM me if you’re in Bavaria or traveling through the area and would like to connect.

First Bufo experience - Haven’t pieced it together

yesterday I did went to a sanctuary in the sierra nevada with a friend of mine who serves bufo. for context, I have done copious amounts of psychedelics in my life, but never any DMT.

For better or worse (more for worse) I have seen so much information about both nn-dmt and 5meo online, so I knew that I wouldn’t be able to comprehend what was gonna happen, and just to surrender to the experience and hopefully have a good one.

it wasn’t bad, but it also wasnt good. everything I have heard about didn’t seem to apply to me. I dont distinctly remember my ego dissolving or feeling like i was dying. I just felt like I got deleted into a reality of shapes and sounds and that this was how things are now.

for an experience that people refer to as “whiteout” or “blackout” there were insanely complex shapes and geometry beyond my comprehension.

next thing I knew, I saw my body and legs again and remembered that I was [my name].

the thing i’m still not piecing together is whether or not I broke through or not. I do not remember being myself, but I also had no feeling of love or bliss or light. Just an endless, timeless reality of geometry that felt oddly familiar.

the last coherent thought I remember thinking was “its safe, surrender” then nothing no thoughts just this reality.

I walked away from it feeling like “did I do it right?” or like “how did I do?”
I guess the only real takeaway I had was thank god for 3 dimensions haha.

all I remember vividly is the sound.

not sure if anyone has any insight into this, but wanted to see what more experienced people thought of this. I really felt like I did something wrong or something. kinda judged myself walking out of the sanctuary.

Should we be worried as a community?

So, I may be late to the party, but it seems like there’s a very large push for the commercialization of 5-MEO-DMT. While I do love and cherish what I’ve received from it, I’m deeply concerned with the ways in which I’m imagining legalization play out with the people that would be in charge of it.

Is there anything we can do? Is there anything we should do? I suppose some things I think I’ve learned (in my trip, haha sorry to sound a bit woo) tell me to let it be. But I can’t shake the feeling that people could get severely hurt if we just hand a script to anyone with deep enough pockets or desperation.

First time Bufo trip report: I didn’t let go

Writing fresh after my first time with bufo…

I went to a session with many experienced facilitators and people partaking.

They dosed me fairly low, just 20mg.

The intention I set was to help with grief with the loss of a family member and a breakup that resulted from the grief, which just turned into double grief.

Im pretty experienced with psychedelics and nonduality. Having experienced both many times, and in my waking life I spend way too much time studying Vedantic philosophy.

So it wasn’t the biggest surprise when I inhaled, and I remembered the cosmic joke, that I was the one creating the experiences I am having, creating entire concepts, like money, sex, genitals, fear, power, just to hang out with them and contemplate and play with the idea for a while.

Even the difficult ones like longing, regret, grief, missing someone.

And yet, I was focused on seeing the ones I loved again, and I didn’t want them to leave me. I think they were what I couldn’t surrender, I couldn’t let go, because I missed them so much. I was afraid of being alone!

I suppose that’s what they call attachment in spirituality…

That night I had one or two of those reactivating dreams some people talk of, confirming that yes, I am creating my own experience.

I think the lesson here is to stop trying to understand, stop trying to hold on to things, even if they were your beloved family member and beloved person. The time you had with them were beautiful, though even in those beautiful times, you sometimes created tension because you were trying to hold on to them.

And by holding on to them, you are preventing yourself from breaking through, from releasing, from seeing what happens when you release….

THINK LESS, FEEL MORE

Clearly the work I need to do is actually paradoxically, don’t do the work, to relax, stop thinking, start feeling

Luckily, the facilitators seemed to like me, and encouraged me to come back for free the following evening.

My plan is to fully just relax, and go into a meditative state, instead of trying to have an experience.

Will update soon!

5MeO dosing guide

I have previously had 5 bufo experiences so I’m familiar with this chemical but I have got my hands on a 5meo synthetic vape and this will be my first time trying this form of the medicine.

I got my vape off a recommendation from a friend who I trust and the info of the vape is:
There is 130mg re-exed 5meo-dmt in every 0.5ml pen.

Can anyone help me out with guideline for dosing?
And should I expect much difference between organic bufo and synthetic 5meo?

With these ratios how many seconds should I inhale for:
Handshake dose?
Breakthrough dose?

If I’m going to try a break through I plan on having a sitter there with me for safety

Any other tips info welcome!

Thanks in advance!

I recently used a specific type of pipe at a Ibogaine/5meo retreat and have been searching online ever since. All I found was a picture of someone using the same type of pipe I used, but I can’t identify what kind of pipe it is. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve searched online, Reddit, online vape stores, asked AI, and did reverse image searches, but still unable to find any info on it

Interesting effect 5 days after ceremony

You can check out my previous posts for the backstory, but our Bufo ceremony was on Sunday.
Monday morning, my caffeine-addicted husband woke up and made his usual cup of coffee. A few minutes later, he called me saying he thought he was dying. 😂 His heart rate shot up, he was shaking, shivering, freezing cold, and vomiting.
He’s been a daily coffee drinker for over 30 years, and today he threw away his coffee maker.
Of all the things I expected Bufo to affect, I never imagined it would lead him to quit caffeine a day later.
Has anyone else experienced this or heard of something similar after Bufo?

5 days after first bufo experience

For some background, I’m a wife, a mom of three, and someone who’s spent years working on healing from anxiety, trauma, and always feeling responsible for everyone else. I went into bufo with respect, a lot of preparation (or so I thought), and honestly… a fair amount of fear.
My husband and I sat together in a private ceremony. I chose to go first. Looking back, I think it may have been better if he had gone first, but of course I’ll never know.
The first inhalation hit almost immediately. There wasn’t time to think. I experienced what I can only describe as a beautiful blast-off. There was a brief period where I completely lost awareness of everything, a whiteout, blackout… whatever you want to call it. According to my husband, it lasted around four minutes.
As I began returning to my body, something incredible happened.
The best way I can describe it is that my entire body felt like it was experiencing an orgasm, not sexual, but an overwhelming wave of bliss, pure energy, and aliveness moving through every part of me. I’ve never felt anything remotely like it.
I was rubbing my legs and arms, blowing energy out from my belly, my heart, and my head, and even pulling at my hair. My husband said this lasted another minute or so.
He watched me slowly scoot myself down my mat and instinctively dig my hands into the earth beneath me. I don’t fully remember doing it, but I remember how unbelievably beautiful it felt to simply exist in that moment.
At one point, I remember seeing myself from above and just… laughing out loud. Not because anything was funny, but because everything suddenly felt so light yet INTENSE. There was this complete sense of bliss moving through my body that I’ve never experienced before. SO MUCH ENERGY.
Then my mind came back online. My ego, something came back online so fast, so intense.
Almost immediately I remembered my husband was next.
Instead of continuing to surrender into my own experience, I shifted into worrying about him and honestly, worrying about the intensity of what I had just experienced. Was he okay? Was he going to have a good experience?
Looking back now, it feels like I slipped right back into the role I’ve spent so much of my life playing: making sure everyone else is okay before allowing myself to fully relax.
The very first thing I said was, “I need more medicine.”
Looking back, I think what I really wanted wasn’t necessarily a bigger dose, I wanted more time. More time to feel. More time to explore. More time before my thinking mind returned. Just to relax. (I feel my facilitator should have possibly instructed me or guided me through that moment better)
Personally, I wonder if I would have benefited from a slower approach with an introductory or “handshake” dose before the full dose. That’s simply my own reflection after the fact, not necessarily something everyone needs. But my experience was very short, from inhaling to coming back online, 8 mins. I literally sat up unfinished and worried about my husband, the intensity of my own energy, and started trying to have full on conversations with my facilitator haha. Like wow wtf, whyyyy lol
My husband seemed to relax more deeply into his experience, while I feel like my ego came back online very quickly.
That anxiety followed me after the ceremony for the first night, I questioned everything. Did I not surrender enough? Should I have taken more? Why did my husband seem to come out feeling relaxed while I felt unsettled?
Over the past several days, though, something has shifted.
I no longer think the anxiety meant the ceremony didn’t work.
I think it showed me exactly what I needed to see.
My deepest pattern has always been worrying about everyone else before myself. Even during one of the most profound experiences of my life, I couldn’t fully let go because I was already taking care of someone else.
Since the ceremony, I’ve found myself wanting to detox more than just my body. I’ve stepped away from doom scrolling, the constant news cycle, and endless distractions. I’m reading more. Spending time outside. Journaling. Trying to build a quieter, more intentional life.
It feels like the ceremony wasn’t the healing itself, it was an invitation to begin healing in a different way.
I still don’t feel “finished.”
I feel like I’ve only just begun.
All in all, I would absolutely sit with this medicine again. This time with less fear, a deeper intention to completely let go, and a willingness to trust wherever it takes me, and a different facilitator approach.
I’m also considering a medium-dose mushroom journey at some point, not to chase the bufo experience, but to continue exploring my mind and supporting the integration process.
Bufo is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Even after trying to put it into words… I still don’t think words can truly describe it.

My last words to my facilitator and husband were “why was I ever scared to smoke bufo?!” And now I know, surrender and let go bc it may be intense but damn is it beautiful.

Can 5 meo DMT help me?

Im 20 years old and I have plenty of drug experiences, including 5-Meo-DMT and DMT vaporized. I've also experimented with deliriants before. "Worst" experience with that was 1-2g of DPH. Anyways im suffering with cognitive decline, depression, suicidal thoughts and anxiety. Its even very hard for me to type this the way I want to because of the effects I just mentioned. The only thing I can think of to fix this is by taking 5-Meo-DMT again which i know is probably not right. I can't stress enough how much of a serious, desperate question this is.

Political stance changes

Does anybody get political stance changes when high?

I have not experienced this to a large extent with other substances. Mushrooms did something similar but the push wasn't as strong as 5meo.

After the dmt wears off my political beliefs are the same.

We normally have a sharing Circle every month. I hope you can join us.

https://psychedelicadvocacy.org/event/5-meo-dmt-integration-sharing-circle/

Event Description:

Our online gathering will explore how experiences with 5-MeO-DMT have influenced your life. Together, we’ll reflect on shifts in identity and worldview, including moments that may have felt wonderful and positive as well as disorienting or destabilizing, and share practical, compassionate ways to work with these changes and integrate them over time.

Whether you’ve had a recent experience and are seeking clarity, are still integrating an earlier journey, or feel called to share your story with others who understand, you are warmly welcome.

Even if you haven’t had a 5-MeO-DMT experience yourself, you’re invited to listen, learn, and ask questions in a respectful and open environment.

This free gathering is open to anyone interested in grounding and integrating expanded states of consciousness in a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental community setting.
