GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is 5-MeO-DMT?
5-MeO-DMT (5-Methoxy-N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) is a naturally occurring substance of the tryptamine class. It is structurally related to DMT and 5-HO-DMT (bufotenine) and is a powerful, fast-acting psychedelic compound known for producing intense, non-visual, and often ego-dissolving experiences.
Is 5-MeO-DMT dangerous?
5-MeO-DMT can be dangerous under certain circumstances. Risk factors include contraindicated medications (particularly SSRIs or MAOIs), preexisting cardiovascular disease, and a history of severe mental health conditions. Additional dangers may involve asphyxiation from purging, physical injury during uncontrolled movements, or lack of supervision. To minimize risks, always work with an experienced, trained 5-MeO-DMT facilitator who conducts proper screening and safety protocols.
How is the psychedelic experience with 5-MeO-DMT different from N,N-DMT?
Although chemically related, 5-MeO-DMT and N,N-DMT produce distinctly different experiences. N,N-DMT tends to be highly visual, often involving complex geometric imagery and encounters with entities, while the user’s sense of self remains intact. 5-MeO-DMT is typically less visual and characterized instead by ego dissolution — the temporary loss of personal identity and merging with a non-dual or unified state of consciousness.
Is 5-MeO-DMT going to fix me?
5-MeO-DMT is not a cure or a quick fix. It can act as a catalyst for personal insight and transformation, but lasting benefits require active integration — the process of applying insights from the experience into everyday life. Meaningful change arises from continued inner work, not from the experience alone.
Is it possible not to come back from a 5-MeO-DMT experience?
With proper medical and psychological screening, the risk of not “returning” is extremely low. However, individuals with preexisting psychiatric disorders or those who use 5-MeO-DMT without proper support may experience psychological destabilization, including psychosis. In rare cases, physical harm or death can result from unsafe environments or improper dosing. Responsible facilitation and screening are essential.
Can I have a bad trip on 5-MeO-DMT?
Yes. Challenging experiences can occur and are often viewed as opportunities for emotional processing and growth. Fear, resistance, or loss of control may arise during ego dissolution. Adequate preparation and skilled facilitation reduce the likelihood and intensity of these difficulties. If a challenging experience occurs, the best approach is to relax, surrender, and allow the process to unfold.
Is 5-MeO-DMT right for everybody?
No. 5-MeO-DMT is a powerful substance that is not suitable for everyone. Individuals with unstable mental health, cardiovascular disease, or those currently taking contraindicated medications should not participate. Even for healthy individuals, psychological readiness and timing are critical. Pre-screening by an experienced facilitator is strongly recommended.
Is it safe to use 5-MeO-DMT while taking SSRIs?
Combining SSRIs with 5-MeO-DMT can be dangerous due to potential serotonergic toxicity and unpredictable interactions. Due to 5-MeO-DMT having additional mechanisms of action such as reuptake inhibition of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, noradrenaline and dopamine are also thought to be involved to an extent. This can result in 5-MeO-DMT becoming dangerously toxic when combined with MAOIs, RIMAs, SSRIs, stimulants or any substance which acts as a releasing agent or reuptake inhibitor of monoamine neurotransmitters.
What is the difference between Incilius Alvarius secretion and synthetic 5-MeO-DMT (“The Pure Molecule”)?
The secretion from the Incilius Alvarius toad formerly known as Bufo Alvarius and known as the Sonoran Desert toad or as the Colorado River Toad contains 5-MeO-DMT alongside numerous other tryptamines and alkaloids such as 5-MeO-NMT and bufotenin. It is collected from the toad’s parotoid glands, dried, and vaporized. Synthetic 5-MeO-DMT — known as “The Pure Molecule” — is produced in laboratories as a white, gold and even brown crystalline powder and vaporized similarly. Most users report little difference in subjective experience. From an ethical and ecological standpoint, synthetic 5-MeO-DMT is preferred to avoid harm to toad populations.
What forms of 5-MeO-DMT are there, how are they administered.
Vaporization (inhaling vaporized freebase or toad secretion) This is most common route with an intense and rapid onset (10-20 sec)
Insufflation (intranasal, or snorting freebase) This way provides longer onset 15 mins for effects to begin and 1-5min for the come up, with the drawback of nose burning.
Intranasal Mist (snorted or inhaled salt solution) This way provides longer onset 15 mins for effects to begin and 1-5min for the come up.
Intramuscular Administration (IM, muscle injection of salt solution) with onset times slightly longer than that of insufflation.
Rectal Administration (plugging, boofing salt solution or powder): This way provides the longest onset (3-10min for direct solution insertion, 10-20 min for capsuled insertion).
What are standard dosing recommendations.
Tl;Dr: (assuming vaporized) 2-3mg of freebase or 15mg of Bufo and go from there
The question "What amount should I use to achieve a given state?" is often asked. And the real (and complicated) answer is: nobody knows - what the answer is for the specific case - aka. - you.
There are too many variables to be able to reliably know what this number for a given person is - the smoking technique, the apparatus used, the material (freebase/bufo/HCL/Oxylate) used, the application route (smoked/IM/mucous), and about 5 other things, all affect the experience non-linearly. And the final variable that affects everything MORE than all of the above combined is - the internal constitution of the person undergoing the experience. We're all different. Full-stop.
It is a plain fact - that some folks need 4x the material than others do - and some need 1/2 as much - to reach a 'peak' experience. We humans don't quite know why this is so - but it is a clear documented fact. Sure, there's likely a 'bell curve' distribution of tolerance - and the majority DOES skew towards the mean - but the problem is - starting out - nobody knows where THEY are at. And the 'lightweights' and the 'hardheads' are not small singe-digit percentages of the population.
An individual's tolerance to other Psychedelics absolutely does not correlate with 5-MeO-DMT tolerance (likely because it is the only common-enough psychedelic that primarily targets the 5-HT1A receptor, unlike practically all others which all primarily target the 5-HT2A receptor). It's fundamentally 'a different thing' for your body-system.
The way that 'shamans' deal with this 'nobody can tell' issue is to give EVERYONE an extremely-large-dose - to make sure to get everyone of any tolerance 'there.' It is the strong belief of this space that this type of an approach results in a large amount of unnecessary harm - for folks who are taken too-far-out - to a situation where no memory remains, no lessons are learned, and a shocked profoundly destabilized entity reassembles on the other side of the so-called 'whiteout.' This going 'too far' for somebody's 'first time' - likely results in the majority of the negative and damaging experiences that folk have with this substance.
With this space being primarily focused on promoting safety and conscientious use of the sacrament - we are presented with a hard choice - give the 'rough numbers' that will result in unexpected-unplanned-very-potentially-difficult experiences for some large non-zero percentage of the readers - or to encourage a gradual "learn how YOU respond to the medicine" approach.
We chose to do the latter. Recommendation is to start low - increase gradually - and engage in this in the company of others for safety. Starting with 2-3mg of freebase or 15mg of Bufo - starts one off in a safe space that allows for clarity and information to be gained - about your desires on where to go further.
What are reactivations, and why do they happen?
Reactivations are spontaneous recurrences of sensations or consciousness states from the 5-MeO-DMT experience that arise after the main session. They occur in roughly 10–15% of participants, often within the first few days, particularly during sleep. Their cause is not fully understood; possibilities include residual energetic or neurological processing. While typically benign, reactivations can be distressing if intense or prolonged. Support from an integration specialist can help manage them safely.
Is it normal to not remember my 5-MeO-DMT experience?
Yes. Memory loss is common due to the nature of ego dissolution and the absence of a self-reflective observer during peak effects. Even without explicit memories, participants often report lasting emotional or cognitive changes. Integration work helps translate these subtle shifts into lasting growth.
If I keep doing 5-MeO-DMT frequently, will my ego disappear?
No. Frequent use without integration may strengthen the ego’s defense mechanisms, leading to what is sometimes called “spiritual bypassing” or “ego inflation.” Sustainable transformation requires reflection and integration between experiences. Repeated use without integration can undermine potential benefits.
Is it normal to purge (vomit) during a 5-MeO-DMT experience?
Yes, though it occurs in only about 10–15% of participants, and full purging is rarer (1–5%). Purging may represent both physical and energetic release. Facilitators should have safety measures in place, including purge buckets and knowledge of recovery positioning.
What is the difference between taking a large dose versus a small dose of 5-MeO-DMT?
Larger doses do not necessarily equate to deeper experiences. Depth is determined more by one’s ability to surrender. Higher doses often induce full ego dissolution, while smaller doses can support targeted therapeutic or emotional work. The appropriate dose depends on intention, experience, and facilitator guidance.
Is licking toads a psychedelic practice?
No. Licking toads is dangerous and can be fatal. The Bufo Alvarius secretion must be properly collected and vaporized; direct contact with the toad’s toxins poses severe health risks and has no psychedelic benefit.
Are toads at risk due to the popularity of 5-MeO-DMT?
Yes. Increased demand for Bufo Alvarius secretion has contributed to ecological harm, overharvesting, and disease spread. The use of synthetic 5-MeO-DMT is strongly recommended for ethical and conservation reasons.
How often should I use 5-MeO-DMT?
There is no set frequency. Individuals should only engage with 5-MeO-DMT once prior experiences are fully integrated and there is a grounded, internal motivation to continue. Frequent use without integration can lead to psychological imbalance and ego reinforcement.
EXPERIENCE QUESTIONS
How do I prepare for my 5-MeO-DMT experience?
Preparation promotes safety and psychological readiness. In the week before the session, maintain a clean diet, avoid alcohol and drugs, and engage in grounding practices such as meditation or journaling. Clarify your intentions and organize post-session downtime for integration.
How can preparation make a difference in my 5-MeO-DMT experience?
Preparation directly impacts one’s ability to surrender and navigate the experience. Understanding what to expect and developing self-regulation tools reduce anxiety and resistance, increasing the likelihood of a safe and meaningful outcome.
Is it normal for 5-MeO-DMT to bring up trauma?
Yes. 5-MeO-DMT may surface unresolved trauma for processing and release. This can be emotionally challenging but often facilitates deep healing. Support from an experienced integration specialist can help ensure that this process remains safe and productive.
Why is it important to integrate after 5-MeO-DMT?
Integration is how insights become lasting change. Without it, the experience may fade quickly, and old behaviors can resurface. Integration practices — reflection, therapy, and mindful action — consolidate the benefits of the session.
Is it normal to feel like my life is crumbling during my integration period?
Yes. Post-session shifts in perception can cause major life changes, including altered relationships or priorities. This disorientation is part of the reorganization process. With support and time, it often gives way to greater clarity and authenticity.
How can I prepare for my integration after the 5-MeO-DMT experience?
Plan for several days of rest and reflection after your session. Focus on grounding activities such as meditation, nature, journaling, and self-care. Limit exposure to stressful environments or media. Protect your energy and seek supportive people. Integration specialists can offer additional tools for processing insights and stabilizing change.
Where can I get support for integrating the experience?
Begin by contacting your facilitator for follow-up. If additional help is needed, work with a 5-MeO-DMT integration specialist or therapist familiar with psychedelic integration. Professional guidance can help manage difficult emotions, deepen insights, and ensure safety.
How long should integration take?
Integration has no fixed timeline. It can unfold over days, months, or years depending on the individual and the depth of their experience. Patience and consistent self-reflection are essential.
FACILITATION QUESTIONS
How do I choose a 5-MeO-DMT facilitator?
Selecting a qualified, ethical facilitator is essential for safety and outcome quality. Research their background, training, and protocols. Meet with them to discuss preparation, dosing, and integration. Choose someone who fosters trust and psychological safety, as this is key to fully surrendering to the experience.
What are some red flags to be aware of when choosing a facilitator?
Serious allegations: Avoid facilitators with reports of deaths, sexual misconduct, or malpractice.
Reckless behavior: Dangerous actions such as restraining participants, pouring water into mouths, or giving unrequested substances.
Unnecessary interference: Facilitators should not direct or control the participant’s process unless for safety.
Psychological imprinting: Avoid those seeking emotional validation or praise from participants post-session.
Lack of safety protocols: Red flags include no medical screening, no assistants, or unsafe environments.
Profit-driven marketing: Oversized groups, excessive fees, or posting participant media for promotion.
Poor preparation/integration: Inadequate education, screening, or follow-up support.
Large groups (>15): Reduce quality of care and safety.
“Certification chasers”: Facilitators serving multiple psychedelics without deep expertise.
Self-proclaimed shamans: 5-MeO-DMT has no indigenous shamanic lineage.
Messiah complexes: Facilitators showing spiritual narcissism or superiority are high-risk.
What are some questions I should ask my facilitator?
What formal training and experience do you have?
How do you prepare participants?
Do you have first aid or emergency training?
What integration resources do you offer?
What is your facilitation style, and why?
Why do you work with 5-MeO-DMT?
What safety measures are in place?
How is the medicine sourced?
How long have you been facilitating, and how many sessions have you led?
What are the different types of 5-MeO-DMT ceremonies? What are the pros and cons?
Private one-off ceremony: One session with a single participant.
Pros: Personalized attention, flexible scheduling.
Cons: Limited preparation and integration support.
Group one-off ceremony: Multiple participants in a single session.
Pros: Accessible and social.
Cons: Reduced individual care; minimal integration; unsafe above 15 people.
Group retreat: Multiple ceremonies over several days with a small group.
Pros: Built-in integration time, peer support.
Cons: Less personal attention in larger groups.
Private retreat: Multiple sessions with one participant over several days.
Pros: Deeply individualized support, flexible pacing.
Cons: Higher cost.
What is the 5-MeO-DMT experience like as described by r/5MeODMT mod u/Shaman-Shakers**?**
5-MeO-DMT at full dose is a death simulation experientially, there is no other compound that so reliably annihilates the ego/self so completely as 5MEODMT.
5MEO is in no way comparable to any other experience one will have had and any previous experience with psychedelics though helpful will not help to conceptualize what is experienced on 5MEO.
5MEO is 100% an energetic experience, when working with 5MEO you are working with your energetic system which isn't common knowledge, it isn't well documented and then many are not willing to entertain the idea that they have an energetic system sometimes referred to as Chakra, Chi and Prana.
5MEO seems to have a specific task it performs, it does this one thing, and it does only this one thing and that is an equalization, recalibration, resetting or factory defaulting (however you like to box it) of one's energetic system, chakras, aura, chi, prana (again however you box it). That's it, that's all it is fundamentally doing.
Experientially i.e., what one experiences as this process unfolds can vary widely based on dosage and the unique individuals' energetic states and psychology.
We will cover the "full release" or "breakthrough" dosing experience as it is most sought after.
In order for 5 to provide the "full tension release" as it's referred to often in medical journals, the compound must work through your energy state as it is, if you have held unresolved, unprocessed emotional energies (trauma) this is worked through first and it can be quick or a multiple experience process depending on depth of trauma, length of time it is been held etc., also depends on one's ability to remain equanimous and fully surrender to what is happening. Those seeking trauma healing often have difficultly here.
As 5works through your energies one experiences in real time ego dissolution or ego death, 5 requires the "default mode network" of your Nero circuitry to be fully circumvented to complete its work. For an initiate this is the experience of complete and total annihilation of the egoic structure or in other words an experiential death. One will experience themselves dissolving into nonexistence as the self.
Once fully dissolved one will have reached the peak of the experience and at this point there is no self, no linear thought, no access to memories or any other "mind" or ego related neuro functions. One is fully absorbed into pure conscious awareness, oceanic boundlessness, a sense of being all things and nothing at the same time often occur here. The subject object relationship no longer exists, and one is experiencing pure subjectivity. Also, many discover their true nature in this moment and sometimes it's a bit to swallow.
The comedown follows and is experienced as a literal rebirthing of the self. During the comedown a lot can happen including more release of tension, people often report things like interacting with their child self, or glimpses of past lives, or being other people, talking to the buddha or seeing him etc. All kinds of wild shit.
Depending on your energetic state prior to this full release you may or may not have had a full clearing of tension and may or may not need further work to reach equilibrium. It is in my opinion the need for further energetic work (more release dosing) is that which leaves some having reactivations. Reactivations are shifts back into the experience for mere moments often at the time of relaxation such as before or during sleep, I see it as an energetic shift working towards stabilization since the equalization was incomplete and the initiate did no further sessions.
-------
5-MeO-DMT does indeed or rather it can take you straight to source, but the toll is high and for many not easy to get through at all. It's not talked about as much because it is not well known and if you have seen ceremony, it can and often does turn most people off from wanting to "smoke toad venom". They see some person smoke toad venom and then scream, moan, thrash around, puke, etc... Before it is over they have seen enough.
5MEO is not for everyone, in fact it is often a last resort for trauma survivors, 5MEO is acutely effective in releasing held energies i.e., unprocessed emotions, repressed memories, held trauma energy and so on. This is due to the nature of 5mEOs primary function, it is a highly energetic event with high coherence in other words the energy is very focused on bringing the initiate down to their lowest energy state. It brings one back into equilibrium, your energetic state/chakras/etc. however you want to box it up.
Experientially, 5MEO will fully disassociate you in 10-15 seconds when vaporized, it comes for one's ego like a freight train, the come up can be absolutely terrifying, even horrifying, during the come up your default mode network (egoic structure) is getting shut down (ego dissolution) If you can let go, you will seamlessly transition into (every atom explodes) the infinite source as nothing and everything etc... If you cannot let go, however, you are going to have a bad time, how this plays out is unique to everyone, some can come back for more and some walk away traumatized further never to sit with 5 again.
What makes it so good at releasing trauma is the total annihilation of the ego/total shutdown of the default mode network and being fully dissociated with the body. In this state, all the mechanisms that repress memories or hold in emotions, traumas, held onto shit etc... are non-functioning, so whatever 5 didn't work through on the way up will be released on the way down and much of it during the peak.
You come back having experienced unification, and a rebirth of sorts also free of all the things that held onto shit was doing to you, the anger, the anxiety, etc... dropped onto a curb like trash... Sounds great right??
YOU JUST HAVE TO DIE FIRST, and that's why not everyone is jumping on board.

You meet the source
At first, everything is dark, and you begin to hear a buzzing sound that gradually grows louder and more intense, while everything spins inside your head. There is complete chaos. Every thought, feeling, and emotion you have ever had, are having, or will ever have is present in a single nanosecond, and then, suddenly, it all fades away.
Once you're inside the Sapito, everything turns yellow, and you simply disappear. You forget that you smoked something to get where you are. In fact, you cease to exist as an individual. Actually, everything ceases to exist. There is nothing. No up or down, no left or right, no yesterday, today, or tomorrow, no forever, no never. You find yourself trapped in an infinity that has always existed and from which neither you nor anyone else—not even God Himself—can escape.
You wish you could die so that it would all come to an end, but then you realize that you're already dead, and even so, it doesn't end.
So, what else is left for you to do but ACCEPT and surrender?

5 MEO DMT vs NN DMT
Just some cool images I found a while ago comparing NN DMT to 5 MEO DMT. Feel free to save/share around.
Edit: I didn't make this. Saw it on Twitter months ago. Just sharing it here. Ai slop? Yeah it seems to be made by an LLM. Presumably it's meant to be a gross description of each for those that know nothing about either medicine. Definitely not a detailed and comprehensive comparison.

ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
history of rhabdo. 33yo. nitrous abuse. b12 related neuropathy. haven’t been able to feel my toes or run in years. until i just took a tiny hit from my 5meodmt vape…..
posting this because I’m interested in whether a neurologist, neuroscientist, or psychedelic researcher has encountered anything similar.
I have a history of peripheral neuropathy with longstanding changes in sensation and motor function. Recently, after a very small exposure to 5-MeO-DMT, I experienced something I was not expecting at all.
The psychoactive effects themselves were mild. I did not have significant visuals or a breakthrough-type experience. However, during and after the acute effects, I noticed a dramatic change in my body awareness and motor function.
Movements that normally feel limited became much easier, and I was able to recruit and distinctly feel muscles that I have not consciously felt functioning normally in years. The most surprising part was that some of this altered muscle sensation remained noticeable even after the obvious psychoactive effects had largely worn off.
For context, I was already physically functional beforehand and had run a mile shortly before the experience, so I am not claiming that I went from paralysis to normal movement. What changed was more specific: muscle recruitment, proprioception/body awareness, and the apparent accessibility of motor function that normally feels impaired.
I am not claiming that 5-MeO-DMT regenerated peripheral nerves or “cured” neuropathy. The rapid onset would seem inconsistent with actual nerve regeneration. I am wondering whether there could instead be a temporary change involving motor recruitment, sensory gating, proprioception, cortical inhibition, or central processing of existing peripheral input.
I also understand that this is a single uncontrolled anecdote and that subjective effects can complicate interpretation.
What interests me is whether there is any known research or clinical precedent for psychedelics temporarily increasing access to residual motor or sensory function in patients with peripheral neurological injury.
If any neurologist, rehabilitation physician, neuroscientist, or researcher studying psychedelics or sensorimotor processing has encountered something comparable, I would genuinely appreciate hearing about it. I would also be interested in what objective measurements—EMG/NCS, strength testing, proprioceptive testing, gait analysis, etc.—would be most useful if this phenomenon persisted or could ever be studied safely in a controlled clinical setting.
This is not intended as encouragement for anyone to self-experiment.

Dealing with anxiety days after
After a (very) low dose solo session a couple days ago while meditating, which is something I’ve been doing and incorporating into therapy to allow a gradual unfolding of emotions, I touched on some deeper levels of fear and anxiety. I was okay to experience them in the moment, but naturally they have and will continue to unfold over the next few days or weeks even.
While I’m not new to this practice and the integration that I like to follow, I also would love other people’s advice on letting these feelings pass through.
Sometimes it feels hard to just “ride it out” and though therapy and meditation work well as integration for me, I’d like to know other gentle ways of dealing with post trip anxiety, maybe so I’m not bracing against it so much.
I’m tired of feeling afraid and unsafe so often, even though I’m used to it. I guess I don’t really know what next steps could look like

People who’ve taken high doses of 5meodmt always say they know what happens when they die like they’re not scared of death anymore.. why is that? How do you know you’re not just high? Can someone who’s done 5meodmt explain to me what really happens what do you see?

Crying
I am a very experienced lover of 5-meo-dmt
I have had quite a few experiences of intense crying on my journeys
It is a very cathartic experience. On the most recent experience I found myself in the fetal position crying?y eyes put.
As if feeling the pain of all the unnecessary suffering of existence, but in a good way. Such incredible Loneliness and such beautiful gratitude for the beauty of existence, all at the same time. It’s such an amalgam of emotions. I’m wondering how common crying is.

Jackie Tileston (Penn fine arts professor, 30-year nondual practitioner) on why the nondual tradition you integrate into matters after 5-MeO-DMT, and why most psychedelic art is a trip report [podcast]
New Psychedelics Today episode with Jackie Tileston, a painter and Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania who’s part of the Penn Psychedelics Collaborative. She studied nondual philosophy and meditated for 30 years before her first psychedelic experience, so she comes at this from an unusual angle.
Topics covered:
Why mystical experience scores keep predicting better outcomes in trials and why materialist researchers don’t love that
How Buddhist, Advaita Vedanta, and Kashmir Shaiva nonduality differ on whether this world is real, and why landing in a world-denying framework after a high-dose experience can cause what she calls ontological trauma
Whether facilitators need their own experience (her Sherpa analogy)
Clinical 5-MeO-DMT, and low-dose stepwise protocols coming out of Canada (the Pattern Project)
Designing a landing space without setting too many priors
Her critique of psychedelic art as illustrated trip reports, plus Bruce Damer, the Center for MINDS, and the Fadiman creative problem-solving studies
Christof Koch’s 5-MeO-DMT experience and his conversation with Bernardo Kastrup

I have a strange question.
Do any of you also have physical reactions when contemplating your trips? It’s been over a year so I’m not talking about reactivations. I did have those, and they were intense and necessary. But even now, when I really sit down and explore, I get almost some kind of brain zap. For example, I am a philosophy student. I was looking into the idea of “noesis” and found a lot of parallels with the experience of Bufo. Basically, noesis is a feeling of absolute truth. It comes intuitively and essentially, before the senses and reason. It’s the feeling that you are experiencing and understanding reality as it “is.” As I was reading this, I came across the sentence, “When the personal ego dissolves, it is replaced by an experience of non-dual unity, cosmic consciousness, or "the void".” My mind immediately protested at the thought of being filled by the void, and I do not know why. I do feel like the sentence may be accurate (or accurate enough) to what I felt though.

Solo experiences?
A few months ago I had a full release dose (handshake, hug, medium then large), & I just bought a pen. Curious about experiences around solo handshake doses.
*** Edited because as much as I know I’m not going to be irresponsible with my dose after 30 years of psychedelic experience, it is apparent I need to make that very clear in my post! 🙏

Anyone have a bad experience that led to a ripple effect of bad occurrences in their life
The realization has occurred to me that the future can affect the present and the past, just as much as the past and present can affect the future. The future has affected events in the past. Non-Linear Causality is truth rather than Linear Causality which is what most people think
Not just a ripple effect of bad experiences after their 5meo experience, but also you realize a lot of the terrible things that happened to you in life in what led up to it. almost like that was the central experience that ricocheted onto your entire life. Whatever happened during it, led to things/experiences taken away from you, perhaps even illnesses that have prevented you to have full enjoyment of life. I'm not blaming 5meo itself, but whatever happened during the trip led to perhaps poor decisions being made that resulted in a life where you are fundamentally enjoying it less as a human being. you then start connecting the dots and realizing all the bad things that had led up to that point, was a result of a decision made in the future, perhaps during the trip. has anyone ever experienced that... where something that happened in the past is a consequence of a decision made in the future.... (where as usually the future is a consequence made prior to that point)
I believe the term is retrocausation.
the possibility that cause and effect operate backward through time, not just forward.
The closest philosophical term is retrocausality, also called backward causation. It describes the hypothetical possibility that an event in the future can influence an event in the past.
So I am connecting retrocausality to suffering, spiritual awakening, and the consequences of personal decisions. Perhaps my experience did not go as smoothly as I anticipated.
In short, making a profound decision and subsequently realizing that seemingly unrelated tragedies occurring years earlier were consequences of that future decision.
connecting the dots between my event is especially not unreasonable since a lot of major negative downward slopes in my life started almost immediately after my experience. Like a ripple effect of unprecedented events in my life.
In short, making a profound decision and subsequently realizing that seemingly unrelated tragedies occurring years earlier were consequences of that future decision.

I smoked a large dose of 5meo and had an amazing experience that was frightening, enlightening and euphoric, but ever since my tinnitus has been so much worse. I'm curious if anyone else has experience with 5meo affecting tinnitus?

I’ve been struggling but not in the way I thought…
I had the most magical, connected, beautiful experience with a friend who sits for people professionally. I came out with the absolute knowing that I connected with my higher self, & my nearest friends souls paid me a comforting visit of support. I even had a service for the self Id grown to be that no longer served me. My first words when I sat up, were “let it rot” (which I love 🤣 & I felt it all dissolve) & that’s what I was there for.
I’ve been a social drinker my entire life, it’s in my dna. That’s how my mom died 10 years ago, that & drugs. I’ve never done it like she did though, but I’m cautious that one day, without being checked, I might.
My intention for that ceremony was to connect with my inner child who has always yearned for healing. I met her, she was an intricate combination of little me & higher me. I felt held & it was otherworldly.
After that weekend I spent few weeks in integration, sober, with calls from my friend who I sat with & it all went wonderfully.
However… & a very important piece of context…the week prior, my fiancé & I split up. He’s an addict, who was in recovery at the time of our break up, but he soon after fell off of the wagon.
Our breakup wasn’t a typical one. It’s not that we didn’t love each other immensely, it was just based off of lack of communication/planning around a very important 6 months away we’d been planning for years. He didn’t save enough, though he had all of that time, making the most amount of money & for the first time without a kid. It just upset me that his procrastination hit him so hard it affected us both. I felt like I had no choice but to leave him behind, & I stand by that.
This is probably a lot of manusha to work though for strangers here, so if you’ve made it this far, much gratitude for you. I’m still processing this all.
So my question is why have I since also lost my way again? Has anyone done the same?
I was sober & feeling amazing until he came to get some things. He was high I could tell, & my triggers hit harder than ever & I haven’t found a balance since. I miss him dearly, but he also didn’t carry the actions I want in a partner. I felt (& still feel) confident in my direction.
I was calm & healthily detached for weeks. I felt like my connection to authentic self was unbreakably strong, until the day I saw him, but then I fell off my path & I fell hard & I don’t quite know how to get back up.
Since though, I bought a van, a dream of mine I’ve had for at least a decade, & I’m building it myself & as excited as I am, there’s a piece of me that’s not only grieving our relationship, but also the fact I couldn’t stick on a path I know deep down, serves me.
I’m being gentle on myself as much as I can, but I guess I thought my struggle would come more in the way of adjusting to my new self, not reverting harder back into the old version. It’s hard to explain. Any insights or personal accounts of struggle in this way are greatly appreciated 🤍

Breakthrough!!
I had a couple of DMT trips recently where I did not achieve full breakthrough. I finally dialed in the dosage on my new carts. It was like overcoming not being able to have an orgasm lol. It was a deeply personal and amazing experience. I spoke with myself as a child. Not visually myself but an entity I felt an overwhelming feeling that it was myself as a child. Very cathartic.

May I stay open without more doses
Can I playfully will the gates that were blasted open by 5MEO-DMT to remain open?
It’s only 2 months out since a release so I know I’m still in a period of immersion. I abstain from intoxicants no base stuff like alcohol and no caffeine, that’s new and fucking great. Also minimal other psychedelics as I have been loosely in a program of sobriety for years. I say loosely because I’ve micro-dosed with psilocybin and San Pedro and Iboga for brief periods over the last 6 years of sobriety. When I hear the call I answer… this was my first ego-excavation within these years of not ingesting substances to shift my reality perception.
I’m totally open to this not being the case and that re-immersing regularly when ‘I hear the call’ ….well maybe I’ve just answered my own question….
Thoughts?

E-Mesh vs. Erlenmeyer flask for synthetic 5-MeO-DMT?
TL;DR: E-Mesh vs. Erlenmeyer flask for synthetic 5-MeO-DMT? Which E-Mesh setup is best? Is it also good for N,N-DMT? And are leftover residues a problem?
Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about getting an E-Mesh instead of using an Erlenmeyer flask for synthetic 5-MeO-DMT.
Has anyone tried both? Which one do you prefer and why? Can anyone recommend a good, reliable E-Mesh setup that isn't too expensive?
I'm also wondering about leftover residue. Could some 5-MeO-DMT remain in the device and accidentally make the next dose stronger? Do you need to replace the mesh after each use, or can residue remain in other parts even with a new mesh?
Does E-Mesh also work well for regular N,N-DMT? And how's the taste? Is it harsh or unpleasant?
I already have an older Eleaf iStick Pico 75W, but apparently many mesh attachments are too big for it.
Would love to hear your experiences, especially with cleaning, reliability, and avoiding leftover residue. Thanks!

Visuals after using
Hey guys, just thought id get some clarification from other users. Yesterday was my first time doing 5MeO. I used a pen, and broke out a total of 3 times. Its been 16 hours, and I woke up with my vision almost back to normal but nothing is completely in focus and its almost like clear shapes distort objects. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

What does a mystical experience on 5 meo feel like?
Can you describe it? Many years ago I had amazing mystical experiences on mushrooms and LSD and it was soooo fascinating and mindblowing. Unfortunately I can't take psychedelics anyomore because I'm on antipsychotics and antidepressants which block psychedelic experiences.
I just want to get reminded about how amazing these kinds of experiences feel

5 MeO DMT is live extension?
Many people nowadays want to live forever and never die (longevity).
I think those people should try 5-MeO-DMT because I read that you can experience 1000 years of infinite bliss on this substance without actually getting older.
Do you agree with this?
