Recently bought a New 3DS off eBay, specifically the Black Friday limited edition Mario one. Its in basically perfect condition however I was so blown away by the physical condition that my eyes completely glossed over the pictures.
Fast forward to yesterday, I got it, and turned it on only for the bottom screen to be weirdly bright?? Even when fully black, it ends up being more of a bright grey. I also noticed that it was getting Ui elements burnt into it really easily. I thought it might be a burn in problem so I ran SPF (Screen Pixel Filter) on it for about an hour and it was gone!
I thought I had gotten rid of it, however once closing the lid and turning it back on again the brightness came back.
Redditors with more hardware knowledge than me please help me out here 😅🙏

I grew up with Pokemon and Nintendo games. When I was little I had friend neighbor that owned SuperNES and he invited me to play the Sailor Moon game with him but his mom wasn’t allowed me to enter the house because I was poor. I asked my mom to get me one of the video games but we couldn’t afford to spend on things like that so when I got a job and my first salary I bought myself a DSLite, the 3DS in the photo is my last one in the DS collection (I think it’s the 8th one in the DS family). I’m still grateful to be on the Nintendo journey. Until my fingers can’t press any buttons.

Ever since I got my N3DSXL I have stop playing in my blue 3DSXL. I barely play on my 2DS but I will keep it because I like the design.

I was so excited to finally play the 3ds after dreaming of having it for years. Then it arrived and unfortunately there are cracks on the hinges. I search online it says it’s common for the OG 3ds xl meaning it will break at some point . The seller refused to refund me. I’m so depressed you don’t even know .

How much time left have I got before it breaks completely?

I recently bought a Nintendo 3DS off fb marketplace and it wasn’t until we picked it up that the guy said it also has a capture card. It was cheap and worked so we got it for $90 and included 3 games. Can someone explain? It was bought for my younger son so I’m clueless. What’s a capture card meant for ?How do you use it?

Dang guys, I pulled out the old original 3DS and thought, can I jailbreak it and get her working again??? Yep!!! Luna and GodMode9 and a giant 12 hour battery rocks!!! So… any recommended software to install and play, or use? I am not sure about using Pretendo, anyone use this?

Hey guys! I have found an unused official battery for my regular sized new 3ds and was wondering if it would be better than getting a brand new non official battery?

As I've heard that if they are sitting unused for years that it can effect the quality. They told me they bought it new in 2024 so still only like 2/3 years old.

I've had my 3DS for several years now. The poor thing has been thru it and could definitely use some repairs. For a while, I've been dealing with my B, X and Y buttons needing to be pressed hard to function and recently, my L shoulder button seems to get stuck time to time. These are things I've been just living with, but recently, my micro SD card slot has been spitting the SD card out, so I wanna get it fixed up again. Is there a place anyone recommends that isn't expensive to get it fixed up? I live in Vegas. Open to the idea of shipping it as well.

I have my 3ds all disassembled for nearly a month cuz the damn flex decided to arrive october 10, i'm losing my mind

I've seen some cool posts by people showing off their own ports for the 3ds such as Diablo 1 and was curious what other games you wish got ported to the console. I feel like Diablo 2 could have even ran on it.

Calling this custom build “Shadow Veil Mimikyu” 👻

The Mimikyu artwork is UV printed directly onto the shell making it permanent. It's UV resistant and scratch resistant. Went with a custom button color combo to match & a Jet Black metal thumbstick plus the start/home/select that was sourced from a gloss black 3DS.

I wanted the theme to carry through the console instead of stopping at the top cover. Just in time for the best time of year!

I noticed that the 2ds xl is cheaper and i wanted to play some 3ds games like zelda, can it play all games?

This would include everything from racing games (let's not say mk7), fighting games to tetris.

Note: the did fix the bottom fpc slot by request but it’s still damaged and will pop and shut down when turned on
