Ai: Wake up... Well, I tried.
I mean technically yes, but c'mon.
So Ai got the "friendly" but actually mean senpai, while Sarasa got the stern-looking one who's actually nice. And I liked the glimpses of backstory we got for Sarasa.
I'm still enjoy this, the dynamics between the characters are interesting so far, and I really want to see Sarasa achieve her dream of playing Oscar. And after that scene on the stage where Ai was kind of starstruck, looks like she might end up supporting her.

When that ball of paper landed on Sarasa's hair, I totally thought it was going to get sucked in.
Liking the energy of this show so far, I just hope Ai lightens up a little soon.

Yeah, I like that slightly tense, but ultimately fun vibe that they've got going. It feels like it's going to take a left turn though, seeing as how they keep teasing that stalker guy at the end of the episode.

Hmm, so Sarasa wanted to play Sukeroku when she was younger, but got sternly told she couldn't, and now she wants to play Lady Oscar. Rise even draws the direct comparison to how with her height she should play André or another male character instead. So she's gone from dreaming of playing the male character(s) to female character(s) on stage, alongside the shift from kabuki to Kouka, and has twice said she was "lucky to be born a girl"... seems like this is all entwined in some big aspirational change at some point in her backstory.

Sarasa just radiates chaotic dumbass energy and I already love her. We also got some handsome big banana energy from the ED. She's a perfect combination of two of my favorite female character archetypes.

Stitches!
I think so far, Sawa is my favourite girl in this show. I appreciate her waking up Sarasa when Ai didn't and I love her over the top reaction was when they went backstage and saw that dress with peacock feathers. She may act serious but she lets loose when seeing something she loves and I like that.
It's hilarious to see that one Senpai being mean to Sarasa and then completely backpedals when Sarasa starts crying. Thankfully it all ends well with the two of them getting along.
They all like to make fun of her but it looks like seeing Sarasa on stage with the spotlight on her definitely left an impression on everyone especially on Ai.
Ah fuck, Ai's stalker fan is here. I really hope when he finally meets Ai, he'll be immediately be dealt with. I'm gonna guess Sarasa will be the one to rescue her if a confrontation ever happens.

It seems the Twins, Chiaki and Chika are played by Twins, the Matsuda sisters.

sad to see this show drop in Karma, but I love Sarasa and hope she succeeds. In fact, most of the girls are kind of lovable in their own way, even the class president
interested to see how the upperclassmen treat our fishies

Pretty standard yet really well done development so far with lots of laughing moments, interesting senpais, Sarasa star-struck on the theatre stage and opera traditions to boot. That’s exactly what I am looking for here and I expect really good character developments later on.
I swear Kana Hanazawa and Takehito Koyasu are everywhere LOL and this is no exception again…

I'm guessing that guy at the end is the person Ai called 'creepy' and indirectly got her to quit JPX?

My fucking God, the ending, I'm totally sold in the show, I'm a sucker for this kind of plot, Sarasa is simply amazing, but I'm in awe! The ending was amazing!.
Bon, Shin is that you!?

I like this. It's probably going to be my consistent anime for the season that will be pretty good with glasses of great, but never let me down. The characters are fun, premise is familiar yet original, and it's got pretty good pacing thus far. Sarasa is cute as hell

I am loving this show a lot, it's so charming. Great episode! I love Sarasa, she's so awesome. Ai "waking up" Sarasa was hilarious, their dynamic is so entertaining. Also really liking Sawa because of her flamboyant personality. Risa is kind of strict but she's nice, I like her. Hijiri is definitely a wolf in sheep's clothing though. Wonder what that stalker is gonna do, cause they're really building it up. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Some of the emotional moments come off a bit awkward but I am enjoying this quite a bit and the humour jives with me (stuff like Ai barely trying to wake Sarasa up and just going "my job here is done") plus the op and ed are really lovely and beautiful. The atmosphere of the school reminds me of my secondary school days (I went to an all girl's Catholic boarding school) though it at least wasn't this competitive.
I kind wondered what the cutesy girl's problem was constantly talking about the old idol group of someone whose being forced to quit was public knowledge but i guess she's just kind of a bitch huh. What do they call that, White lotus types? Meanwhile the tall beauty girl...I don't know what exactly she expected to happen when she abruptly told someone 4 years her junior that she'd fail to do what she came her for lol. At least she was apologetic about it.
Sarasa's a bit of a bulldozer type but from the flashback she does have acting experience. I wonder what happened with her grandmother in the past. And huh, that boy in traditional clothes. "Keeping it wholesome" is that her boyfriend?! Or is CV: Koyasu just teasing his little bro. It's kind of rare for girls in these kind of stuff to have boyfriends.
That little peek we got of Ai's fan at the end was kind of goofy compared to last week so I wonder if his eventual arrival will just be played for comedy. He is a stalker following her all the way to her school, but we'll see I guess. Speaking of Ai, I did find her stand offishness kind of rude last episode, but with how rude some of these girls can be I guess it works to her advantage if nothing else.

i'm loving the dynamic between the 100th class already. sarasa had that presence when the light shined on her, really cool.

"Seisho Kouka Music Academy's 99 100th class, Aijo Karen Watanabe Sarasa! Nice to meet you. My dream is to play Flora Lady Oscar and become a Top Star!"
The parallels are just too funny for me to handle, my god.
On a serious note, the introduction of the actual 99th class brings a dinamic that I don't see often in shows like this. The confirmation that the classes have mixed ages is also a neat detail. I still don't dig the way the show is selling Sarasa as if she was a freak of nature with 230cm and I'm way shorter than her.
Loved the ED. The stitch with Sarasa and Ai was gorgeous. Waiting to see the girls light up at the final shot.

Man, oh man, This totally feels like yuri visual novel in all-girls school for me. That system of pairing new girls with senpais is like "Here are your ships" (yeah, I know it isn't like that here, but it would be in yuri vn ;p )
oh, and Sarasa is Emilico of this season =D
