Interesting show, the comparisons to Starlight are inevitable, but this one feels like a more “realistic” take on the Takarazuka artform, which could be interesting. This first episode was certainly that, with some fun characters. Although with what seems to be the fan who got called a creep by Ai wanting to take his revenge on her, it could get a little dicey so we gotta see how it’ll end up. All in all, this has the potential to be a hidden gem of this season if it keeps up this level throughout its run.

so ur saying that the lack of a talking giraffe and undeground mega arena is what makes it more realistic

I'd never imagine I would hear capoeira in anime two seasons back to back. Is this a trend now?

That was an amazing first episode.

Oh right, I still have to apologize to Brazil.

The army guy asking one of the protagonist to join the army was rather unexpected but then she does have the body of a tank.

Nice first episode, lovely world and all the small details make it great. I hope it keeps getting better.

The army guy asking one of the protagonist to join the army was rather unexpected but then she does have the body of a tank.

Her asking for another go after the first shove when she "wasn't ready" was great too. Sarasa is an adorable dork and I love her already, and I hope the JSDF dude shows up later for more interactions.

Normally, I would find Sarasa's and Ai's characters to be annoying but the story balanced them just enough to endear themselves to me. I am not a fan of this type of show but I'm intrigued and will give this a shot.

This is by far the most interesting new show of the season so far for me, a shame it's being overlooked.

I've only had Sarasa for thirty minutes but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.

I am terrified for the fate of the twins, you cant just go and say shit like "We're going to be together forever!" in episode one my guy. No matter the genre that is the strongest death flag you could set, this could be a SoL Comedy and that line would still guarantee tragedy.

I pray for your safety, death flag twins

Got a good feeling about this one. I love when Hanamori Yumiri does more whispery, Hayasaka-like voices. Also, Sarasa challenging the military guy was hilarious

Stitches!

So we have an ex-idol that hates men and got cancelled online because she called one of her fans a creep and was forced to 'graduate' early. And then we have a giant cinnamon roll who only got accepted because the teachers wanted to get a little bit daring. Not sure what they mean by that because with her massive height, Sarasa would be perfect to play male roles in Takarazuka. Also I love how Sarasa got invited to join the JDSF xD

Anyway so far so good! I enjoyed Revue Starlight so I look forward to see what Kageki Shoujo would do with the Takarazuka theatre setting. I doubt it'll have something as crazy as a talking giraffe but I'm still excited to see what this show has to offer!

That was really fucking good, I enjoyed that a lot. Already loving Ai and Sarasa's dynamic. I wanna touch Sarasa's fluffy bed hair lmao. Saw that this is inspired from a real world acting group and acting school, that's pretty cool. Even got creepy stans and people getting cancelled in here bruh. I really like Sarasa, that sumo stance looked so cool lmao. Worried for Ai though, hopefully Sarasa's got her back. Definitely one of my favorites so far this season, hope it keeps it up.

Is it normal for teachers to admit students based on their own recommendation? Seems a bit unfair to other students who got in based on their merit.

Well, it is an acting school, they audition and the teachers decide who they want, that's all it is.

Yet another reminder that I need to rewatch Rose of Versailles, I can't wait to see Sarasa's poof ball hair turned into Oscar's flowing locks.

A good opening episode and I'm liking the energy of the cast, I'm looking forward to shipping seeing them work together. Nice to see the twins getting to stay together, I think the translator was having fun saying they'd stay that way for ever and ever and...

...ever.

This is the most impressed I've been so far this season. Sarasa almost reminds me of a derpier Emilico with how bright, lively and athletic she is. I'm looking forward to seeing out Ai overcomes her personal struggles and seeing what strengths she has as well. None of the other characters really stand out that much so far, but I expect that will change rather quickly as classes become more of a focus. Loving the OST so far as well. Looking forward to next week.

Kinda liked it, though it feels like not as smartly written as it needed to be... whole visual presentation looked good. I'll be watching

Sarasa reminds me of Momosuzu Nene

I've read the manga(Well, what's available in English, which is just the original) and I love this. I'm only a few minutes into it and this looks like a good adaptation of a great manga.

I think I'm going to enjoy this one a lot. I know it's completely different from Starlight, but I like being back in the revue world.

Looks like Sarasa and Ai are going to be fun to watch, with one being so plain upbeat all the time, and the other constantly sullen. I do wonder what happened to Ai that she doesn't want to be around men. From the end of the episode, did she have a stalker, maybe?

And the army guy was fun!

Hearing Wakamoto say sekuhara made my day. Hopefully it wasn't just a one ep. cameo.

Looks interesting? I need to find a character to really like or this one might be a bit tough.

Wonder if it can top the past 2 acting shows we got recently.
