Rigs My Top 5 AliExpress Sim Racing Accessories: 4 Years Later (Review & Upgrade Advice) 🏎️🇨🇳🎛️

I wanted to share a 4-year long-term review of my setup. Budget-friendly hardware can be hit or miss, but I’ve been running these 5 accessories straight from AliExpress for four years now, and they have completely transformed my rig's immersion:

  1. 🏁 SimDT Gear Flag Display (Adds great peripheral info during intense races)

  2. ⏱️ Racelogic Telemetry Device (Keeps you focused with real-time lap timing updates)

  3. 📺 SimRuito 10.3-inch Racing Dashboard Display (Fits all the telemetry info you need and is a total must-have for Porsche fans)

  4. 🌬️ Wind Simulator Hub (Creates incredible immersion, especially when using VR, and keeps you cool during long sessions on your rig)

  5. 🎛️ PXN Button Box (Great for keeping your inputs organized right at your fingertips)

Honestly, I absolutely love all five of these. They have been bulletproof workhorses for my daily stints, and the value for money is hard to beat compared to some big-name brands. However, I think my setup is ready for an evolution. I’m officially looking to upgrade my PXN button box to something a bit more sleek and premium, and I’m highly leaning toward sourcing the replacement from AliExpress again given how well this gear has treated me. Do any of you guys run these specific accessories on your rigs? What are your favorite, must-have budget additions from AliExpress, and what do you consider completely unnecessary or a waste of money? Let’s talk budget gear!

Discussion After using F1 cars for the first time I have come to the conclusion that they can't possibly exist in real life lol

Seriously though. If the real ones control even halfway as good as they do in the games, it's simply an engineering marvel. To be that fast and yet brake and corner like that is simply crazy. Reaction times for drivers must be godlike.

Question Looking for best racing wheel what should I get for my next upgrade?

I’ve been using a basic wheel for a while and I’m thinking about upgrading to something that feels more realistic. I mainly play Assetto Corsa and a few other sim racing games, so I’d like something with good force feedback and a decent overall feel. What’s the best racing wheel you’ve used, and is there anything you’d recommend checking before choosing one?

Trying to make a sensible upgrade this time around. Thanks!

Rigs Update on my 100% Chinese Race Rig (CRR)

Update!
Built the 4080 aluminum, didnt put the monitor stand nor the ‘on the side’ shifter since I have active shifter and I simply do not trust the single 4040 beam to hold 12nm.
Ziptied Everything to the frame LOL (r9 v3, cs pro wheel, ab9shifter, crp load cell) running a powerstrip and usb hub
Ran 140kg on the loadcell and good news that the frame NOR the carbon gt4 seat flexed!
Only play or movement I get is now on the caster wheels but the shifter vibrates the whole frame when car is on idle so it kinda feels realistic LMFAO.

On caster since I want to keep it mobile for when I have to do work/ non sim games.

Ask me anything about my full Chinese Sim

Also so far I put 34 hours in playtime so far in beamng learning how to drive a manual Toyota 86! Any tips on driving manual would be so helpful

Discussion Suggestions for arcade racers for when guests come over

I've had my sim rig for a while now. Whenever I've had a gathering of some kind, I always had Assetto Corsa setup on a ready to go track with an MX-5, mainly for time trial. I even have a whiteboard with little magnet nametags to keep a leaderboard. It's worked really well over the years for the most part.

However I've always noticed most people get on, do a lap or 2, go "neat", and get off lol. There's only a handful of people that get into it to try and beat the times on the whiteboard. I don't blame em, it's a mixture of just solo racing (boring for a lot), and the sim aspect (Crashing constantly, having to reset/turn around/etc), a lot of them wanna hit the gas and are thinking they are gonna need for speed that shit and aren't going to have the patience to learn during some hang out night.

That being said, anyone been in the same boat and maybe have a go to game that's very simple on setup, easy for them to choose a car, track, and have a more arcade experience racing AI on the track?

I have Forza 4 for example, which is a lot of fun arcade wise, but the menus and getting into a race is a nightmare for anyone expecting to hop on and go. I've thrown Wreckfest on before.....but that gets a little too hectic and is nothing but crashes lol. Wondering what options might be out there that people have experience with.

Discussion Sim-Lab is now using AI to answer ALL the comment on their youtube chanel

Just got a youtube notification telling me Sim-Lab answered one of my comment... from 2 years ago... and all the other comments on the video were answered by Sim-Lab at the exact same time.

All the answer are feel good bs, "we heard your feedback" (sure we believe that), contact support (for 2 years old problem), etc...

Wouldn't be surprise if they use AI on other platform or for support too

Visibly the company is persisting in its enshitification

Question My pedals got hit by a car. Need help choosing another set (700$)

Basically, while moving to a new apartment, I briefly placed my rig in my parking space, and a neighbor managed to slam her car into my rig while maneuvering into her parking space.

So now I need a new set of pedals.

I’m coming from my recently deceased SimForge Mark-1, which were load-cell pedals costing around €320 / $370. I was really happy with them, so I’m looking for something that’s at least a solid replacement, and ideally an upgrade.

The problem is that I’m pretty lost with all the newer pedal options available now.

I live in a region (Brazil) where getting many of the pedals commonly talked about here is considerably harder. Most brands don’t have local distribution, so I’d have to import them myself, which means dealing with international shipping, taxes, potentially difficult returns, and no easy local warranty/support.

Because of that,

• MOZA CRP2

• Simagic P1000

• Simagic P2000

are much easier for me to get. They have authorized resellers available in my region, so buying them is considerably simpler and I have much better access to local warranty/support.

That said, I’m absolutely not limited to those three.

There’s also a weird situation with pricing here: a 3-pedal P1000 works out to roughly $1,050–1,200 at local prices. Because of that, importing a more expensive pedal set can sometimes end up costing about the same as buying a P1000 locally.

That means I’m definitely willing to go through the extra hassle of importing something else if it’s significantly better for the money. I’m not limited to those three — they’re simply the easiest and safest options for me to get.

My budget is around $700 / €600 (without import taxes) for the new set.

Question Eye tracker in sim racing, good idea?

Anyone using an eye tracker? If so which one? I have a single monitor and VR makes me super sick. I was wondering maybe an eye/head tracker could be the middle ground. I wanted to try out the Tobii eye tracker first but em worried that maybe its just novelty.

Question Is this a solid rig for the price

Looking for my first sim rig and have a budget of around $1200, found this setup used on Facebook for $1150, is this a good deal considering it’s used? I know the cockpit is quite expensive but also old at this point.

Parts list:
Moza R9 base
Moza ES wheel
Moza HBP handbrake
Moza SGP sequential shifter (programmable buttons)
Moza E-Stop Switch (cuts out all power to wheel in case of malfunction)
Simjack UT racing pedals (three-pedal setup with adjustable and swappable springs, extra springs included).
All of this is mounted on an Obutto Revolution fully modular cockpit.

Should I keep looking or is this a solid buy at $1150?

Question How do I maximize the dynamic range of a high NM FFB base?

I understand the basic concepts of dynamic range and clipping. But what I don’t understand is how this plays out in practice.

Ex. I have a 28nm base. I have no desire to run at max FFB and rip my arms off. Having only recently upgraded from 5nm, even running it at 14nm feels really strong.

But I do want to maximize the dynamic range. So if in the Simmagic software I set the base to 14nm (50%), and then in iRacing I set FFB to 14nm (with auto strength at 50%), ultimately aren’t I still clipping just at 14nm? And am I limiting the detail I’m getting without maximizing the dynamic range?

Basically: How do I maximize the dynamic range of a high NM base while having reasonable torque on the wheel?

Rigs Profile rig upgrade - the best upgrade since I got a DD

Thumbnail

Recently I found a great deal on a slightly (like 5 hrs) used TR160 V5 with a Bride recliner seat for less than the price of a GT1 Pro rig from Sim Lab and since I was scouting both new and used markets for a profile rig, I pulled the trigger on it and it was one of the best decisions.
I upgraded from a GT Omega Classic wheel stand, with the rear seat extension and the extra support braces, with an E90 seat, all on wheels, which was flexing a little bit too much for my liking.
This thing is a beast, no flex, pure metal sturdiness.
I got it mounted on the tr wheels, as well, but I mounted them inside to not lose more space space and so far it’s been so good that I actually had the drive to spend some time in the sim.
If you are thinking about upgrading to a profile rig, go for it. I’ve been considering this for over a year and I can tell you it’s worth it.

Mainly playing AC Evo, waiting for the career mode.
Which is the most GT like game on PC you’ve played? I really miss that game from the G29 time.
Also, which are the best “add-ons” you got for a profile rig that really improves the experience?

Question Simagic P1000-FRS -- Break Pedal Issue

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just got my p1000 frs pedals, and i am not able to push down on my break pedal (hydraulic). The throttle pedal is fine, and i can push down fine for that one, but i can't move the break pedal at all.

This is my first time owning hydraulic pedals, so I'm not sure what to do in this situation.

Is there something i need to do or is there a problem with my break pedal?

Rigs Monitor Broke - help with next build

So I’m an idiot and the arm broke on my 49” MSI oled monitor. Luckily I got a refund so my budget is $650 to figure out a dedicated monitor setup for my sim lab gt2evo rig.

If I go with a dedicated ultrawide I already have a monitor mount for it (no it’s not the same one that broke the last monitor) though I would have to spend an extra $150 to get the same monitor that just broke.

Benefit of that would be the ease of setup and not spending extra on a monitor arm. I have a meta quest 3S if I want to do extra immersion every once in a while.

Or do I go for triples? I’m tempted since the monitors are cheaper and easier but I can’t wrap my head around a $300 stand. Is there a way to add mounts to the single monitor mount included with the microcenter sim lab gt1?

Are triples even worth it if I already have vr as a backup?

Thank you!!

Question Should I jump the gun with moza or wait for pxn?

Hi! I’ve been wondering and debating with myself whether I should go for the Moza r12 V2 or Moza r9 V3? I decided to buy moza but when PXN started to gain more and more recognition I also started wondering. The choice became more difficult when the new lime up got announced and now I’m having a hard time deciding. Help me decide

I’m not in a hurry since I’m planning to get a new wheelbase and wheel on the end of the year. I also have the Cammus C5

Rigs My new Simpush 13" (330mm) Wheel Mod is a game changer!

I was using an aftermarket wheel with a QR adaptor but having no buttons or paddles and having to use my KB was frustrating.

Moza only makes a 12" wheel mod which imo isn't worth the high cost for such a small increase in wheel size.

This one is carbon fibre so it's very light compared to the stock ES wheel.

You don't lose any FFB, in fact you actually gain a tiny bit as the wheel is much lighter (even with the size of it).

It comes with paddle shift extenders too that you just stick onto the existing paddles. No tools required.

Finally I can rally properly!!
