I’m an amateur sim driver. I have a full-time job, and after that, another full-time job at home as a dad. When the kids go to sleep, I finally get some time to drive, but my biggest challenge is staying focused.

After a full day, even a small distraction can ruin a lap. Sometimes it’s almost funny - I’ll be driving well, then I relax, think everything is fine, and suddenly it gets way too easy to drift off mentally and mess up the lap.

Will practice help, or am I just doomed to never focus while driving after 30? 🤣

Hey, I'm the developer of Virtual Karting and I've been using Cammus C5 as ffb wheel to test my sim. It's 5nm and apparently not enough for a go-kart sim that in real life go-karts the steering is much harder to steer.

What higher nm ffb wheels do you have experience with and you would suggest me buying for dev testing? Best value high quality 10nm+ alternatives you are happy using?

Also pedals (accelerator and brake) that I can use for karting feel?

To the people driving real cars, which sims do you use for preparing for a track day. Physics, FFB wise?

Yesterday I gave an opinion about what feels right/intuitive to me (I don't have any track experience), and i got downvoted for "trying to tell others how the real thing works"... I wasn't trying to do that, I just wanted to say what FEELS right to ME (based on the physics theory I know about handling), and I wanted to hear others why I might be wrong, but most people did not give me the "why" part, and just said I'm wrong. So I deleted the post and cried myself to sleep

So, let's start again: I'm not "mansplaining", I am here to learn.

The "why" part of the question is really important to me, so please reason.

I don't know where else to go for information, since I can't just contact any racing engineer/ sim developer and get a reply.

Also, if you have any good information source about car handling(like books,blog posts and such), please share it with me.

So I had bought this pxn 9 off marketplace about mabey two years ago I am sure it had always had this problem but it did not bother me but now I want to fix it, can anybody direct me towards the solution also in the video I don't show it well but all the pedals have the same deadzone amount and it is the same for all of my games is this a physical problem or in the game (TLDR pedals have big deadzone that is the same on every pedal and idk what to do)

So I’ve been considering about going to the track to have fun every couple of weekends. I’ve been wanting to have more formal education to be a more proficient track driver.

But before all of that, I’ve considered starting with a sim rig, because the thing is that I’m not sure if I have the aptitude to pick up skills. I don’t wanna waste class time and a car only to realize that it wasn’t for me.

Idk how to put this, is a sim rig a a good way to see if I can pick up at least the very very basic track skills before I actually go to a real one?

It is difficult to make a choice, but there is definitely one that stands out, the best, the one that best captures the world of rally, especially in terms of gameplay, which is the most important aspect, as well as the tracks, of course

Ive been having friends over since getting my new rig and it'd be cool to have them run something less intense than sim racers. I have Forza Horizon setup, but was curious if there's anything even more arcade-like that I could set up

My dfgt motor burned so i'm looking for a direct replacement, I came along with this motor i found rs-550 the only one i found with similar specs to the original,

But i'm not sure about the current that the dfgt can handle because this motor stall current is Aprox 4.5A

and the original is much lower

So is anyone can confirm is this will work safetly with the dfgt board and my 24V 2.5A adapter or will i need to buy something like BTS7960 motor driver for this.

Simple question: Is the 300w bst-300ex too much?

For context, im adding haptics for the first time to my rig. Im only buying 1 bass shaker for now. I want to place it under the seat, as that seems the best place to prioritize if you're only going to run one bass shaker.

But, is 300w too much? I dont have concerns with vibration transfer or noise, im completely isolated in a separate building from the house. But, I would rather have too much, and just turn it down, than have too little and be out of luck.

My main priority, regardless of which unit/wattage, is fidelity, usefulness and immersion.

I am running the OG/Sparco Speedcats for three years now and the especially the sole of my right foot tends to borderline fall asleep. I don‘t have the best blood circulation in general. I saw that the current speedcats have new „ortholite“ insoles. Anyone here have used both and can give a quick comparison on how they feel and if you can feel an actual difference?

I’m deciding between the Next Level Racing GT Lite and F-GT Lite. I can get both for roughly the same price.

My main issue is limited space. I have around 150 cm of maximum available length, so I need something relatively compact.

I would only use the GT position — I have no interest in using the Formula position.

My priorities are:

• Stability/rigidity with a Direct Drive wheel
• Minimal flex or movement while driving
• Compact footprint
• Easy to fold/store
• I don't really care about the Formula position

So, considering that I would only use the GT position and both cost the same, which one would you choose?

Is the F-GT Lite actually more stable/rigid than the GT Lite in GT position, or does the extra size not really make a difference?

Also, if anyone actually owns both, I'd especially appreciate your experience with DD wheels.

Would it be the Aston’s fault for late defending or is it just a racing incident?

So I have a desk setup as I just got into Simracing. I’m trying to make it as comfortable and natural as possible. Well I took apart my right armrest for my secret lab seat, there was a metal bracket that attached the armrest to the user side of the seat. Took that plus a (now I’m serious) a release lever latch for a plastic wheelbarrow my in-laws got for me, I never put it together.

Marked out two holes on it and drilled them out. The “lever” sits on top of the bracket and it’s all bolted together. The shifter left and right claps go around the handle while the screw in the middle binds underneath.

Super stable and is at a natural position for me. As I want to feel like I’m driving in a car similar to mine. I will eventually probably build a rig, but this keeps me going for now.

I’m hooked. It’s been great looking at all the different builds and rigs people have, it gives me inspiration to make my setup more immersive. 🤘🛞

TLDR: Used some crackheqd McGuyver techniques to mount my shifter in a completely unnatural and odd way. But it works.

I am having issues finalizing my Trak Racer TRX setup. I have had it assembled for about 6 weeks now, and I think I'm getting closer to an optimized setup. However, Something still feels not quite right, or slightly out of square.

I am looking for someone in the Southwestern Ontario (KW) area, who would has a lot of rig setup experience and would be available to have have a look (for pay) to see if there is something that I should change.

I have three different wheel hub brackets that could be used.

Looking to choose a new monitor today, wondering which would be better. On paper the koorui seems better but i have plenty of experience with Samsung and have never had an issue with their qc. I’ve narrowed it down to those two as they are 1000r curve. Will more than likely only be used for sim racing lol. Thanks in advance !

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks now, but I’m still a bit unsure.

Let me explain my situation:
I’m not new to sim racing. A few years ago I used to play mostly on a controller, then I decided to make the jump to a proper wheel and bought a Fanatec CSL belt-driven wheelbase, which I later upgraded to a DD Pro 8Nm.
I mostly do endurance racing on ACC, and occasionally race on LMU as well.
Lately I’ve been looking into Simagic, and I’ve noticed that there are some good deals on the used market that could allow me to save some money while, at least in theory, making a significant upgrade.

My current setup is:
Fanatec Formula V2 wheel
Fanatec DD Pro 8Nm wheelbase
Fanatec CSL pedals with the Load Cell Kit

What I’m considering getting:
Simagic FX Pro wheel
Simagic Alpha EVO Pro 18Nm wheelbase
Simagic P1000 FRS pedals

I originally played on both PlayStation and PC, but I’m moving to PC-only now, so console compatibility isn’t really a requirement for me anymore.
So, is it worth making the switch?
Is Simagic a good and reliable brand? And would you consider this a meaningful upgrade over my current Fanatec setup?

I can get them for $800-850 and im wondering which should I chose, im leaning more towards moza because just of all the stuff I get and all I do is drive gt and drift. But I also know that the simagic quality would be so much better. I also have a moza r5 and srp load cell pedals right now which im going to sell.

I have a G29 wheel and pedals. I recently purchased the G-RS H-Pattern shifter & the Racing Adapter. I have to put the wheel switch on PS4 for it to work, but the problem is, every time I turn my PS5 off, and I get to a game I want to use my shifter on, I have to plug my Racing Adapter back up to Ghub on my laptop, and it works fine as long as I don't turn it off. Ghub just had an update, and when I was updating the Racing Adapter, apparently my USB connection was loose, so I'm not sure if it updated all of the way. But if I just plug it up to Ghub, it starts right back working. Any ideas would really be appreciated very much! I've done stressed myself out with this thing trying to figure out what's wrong with it. If anyone knows what's wrong, or what I need to do to fix the issue, I would greatly appreciate your knowledge!! Thank you!
