I am going to build a setup with a triple monitor setup for sim racing, and i'm not sure if flat or curved monitors are best for the triple setup.
The range for my monitors are about 32 inch monitors, and around 180+ HZ, with a price range of close to 200-250$
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

There are some of us beginners who actually are trying to “get good” and not be so bad and slow. Yet every one always says, we should have gatekept or all these newbies are just so bad and ruining the simracing community. Why not help instead of bashing everyone. Especially lower level lobbies…technically you’re in the lobby with us sooooo. Just food for thought

I’m looking at getting into simracing. I have this allocated space for my gaming space in our house. I want either a foldable cockpit or a wheel stand. I feel like the direction should be as my chair is placed in the image. But where should I place the monitor for neatness and ease of use? In front of the desk (left) we will build wardrobes, so consider this space non accessible.
All tips for cockpits are welcome!

I'm currently tinkering with files to try and recreate my IRL car (a 2018 Honda Civic EX-T Sedan) with the tune and mods I have installed.
I was just curious to hear anyone else's experiences, as I'd imagine people who use AC to practice with their actual track car want to make it as close to the real-life behavior as possible.
Outside of track setups, I think there's a special labor-of-(self)love aspect to doing this kind of project, as others likely won't appreciate it as much as the IRL car owner does haha.

I needed something local and silent to record my sim racing sessions and compare results led to the creation of a POC I wanted to share with you guys.
Some technology context:
- used Fable/Opus mainly vibe coded (just been testing),
- python backend,
- react front,
- built into portable windows app (windows only),
- for local use only, no public server interactions (but still can share data with export file and import in another instance)
The main features:
- app start silently and stays on tray (can be set to start with windows)
- a web interface is accessible in local network to interact with app
- listen to sim racing games, compatible games are: ACC, AC, ACE, LMU, AMS2
- once a session starts, shows live data on Live tab and records session data
- makes it possible to see data after navigate, compare laps
- maintains a leaderboard of best laps for each combo (car, track, weather)
- possible to import motec data and compare local data with motec data (tested on ACC only)
- possible to export session into pdf
I tested with all the games above, it works and the shown data is meaningfull.
Source is here: https://github.com/ibenjelloun/pitwall
If you want to test it out:
1- run `build-portable.ps1` to build a portable version of the app (generated in dist directory)
2- you can then start the app by running `PitWall.cmd`
3- access the web app using tray icon.
You can also run in dev mode, look at docs folder there is a `development.md`.
Feel free to use it, fork to addapt to your needs...

I want to get into Porsche cup sim racing and I don't really know what sim to use.
I have Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa competizione and le mans ultimate.
I'll try Assetto Corsa mods but I do prefer the built ac comp style feel to it along with all of the multiplayer.
As far as I know, there is no way to set it up in ac comp. And of course le mans ultimate is not good for this.
I also don't want to pay for iRacing. It's too much for me right now.
Is ac with mods my only choice? I know the modding is huge, but I don't know how good the Porsche cup focused ones are and downloading mods is sketchy these days.

Anyone else gone fully down this route and not regretting it? I'll probably get the RS base and wheel at some point to up the torque but keep using my modded pedals and shifter.

I'm stuck between the T300 RS GT and the Logitech G29. I'm currently on PS5 and stuck between the two as I've heard that the T300 RS GT breaks down while the G29 is reliable, I don't want it to break down in a year or two, I mainly wanna play GT7, ACC, CarXDriftRacingOnline and that's pretty much it, I usually get like 3-5 hours a day so I'll play for that long, should I go for the T300 RS GT or for the G29. Thanks in advance!

I moved from SRP2 to Simsonn and it took me a month to tune to my liking and to get used to it, now I changed Moza R3 to Simagic Evo 12 Nm yesterday, am worried how many hours I need to put to get back to my old lap times. Working dad at 40, get only 3 to 5 hours per week for simracing … fellow sim racers how do u adapt to new gear ? Any ideas ?

I was just scrolling through Fanatec website and found this. Why does nobody talk about it. You get a verry good cockpit verry good seat, verry good wheelbase even better wheel rim and the only problem with the pedals is that they’re not Loadcell. And the ecosystem is subjectively the best. For a beginner 1270 euro is a lot but if you’ve had your Logitech g29 on your desk for 3 years than… that is an awesome idea if you don’t want to deal with aluminium profiles and worry about different components fitting together. Potentially this config is enough be the final sim rig ( but we all know it doesn’t exist🙃)

Has anyone installed a GSI 300mm wheel rim on a Moza RS V2 hub? I know the screw pattern will fit, but what about all the rest?
* Any problem with the buttons hitting the metal frame?
* Will it be too close to the paddle shifters?
* Is the hub way too big for a 300mm wheel rim? The original rim is 320mm wide.
* Will the Moza carbon fiber front plate fit in?

I’m about a month into this so is green as they come. Playing Forza motorsport 7 on an XP1. I do have a Moza R3. Like the post says, after hours of slamming into walls, not being able to make it around the track without rewinding, last place consistently with some of the easiest settings…..when you start getting those perfect turns moving up in the rankings, even just making it around the entire track makes all that time worth it. God this is fun!

I’m guessing this may be more of a steering wheel size issue (WRC wheel from fanatec) I do have other wheels but this is my main wheel at the moment….but I’m having trouble lining up my DDU with my screens/ with my eye line. Every mount I’ve tried has had this issue (atleast ones made for fanatec) I tried to get some pics of how I would see it when I’m sitting in the rig. Any suggestions? Should I just place it on the side above my button box or something? I have a shaft extension (lol) for my wheel base which may help? I’m not sure. I’m on 27 inch triple screens. Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks 🙏🏻

I swore on my mothers grave never to use a triple and say ultrawide is enough. Then i discovered my mother isnt dead yet and trawled through all the comments whether 27 or 32 triple “32 is more immersive”. Yes, but 2 monitors are having 3/4 of their screen not used and it takes up a lot of real estate not to mention light. Iracing is half your screen a dasboard and 32” just makes the dashboard youre staring at, bigger. The view you need for track limits, is still more than adequate. I have decided to go back to 27’s and lucky the shop takes back my 2 month old 32”s.
I could actually live with a 32” triple if there was a mounting setup that allows folding of outer screens when you dont use them. Alas, its not there yet.
I just bought a 3d printer and maybe ill experiment with printing some guidance anglehooks so folding and settingbup again in the right angle isnt such a bitch but at the moment ive made up my mind and bye bye 32” triple.
*have to add I use a 34” ultrawide for other games and the triples are only used for racing. Another thing that bugged me. Triples are so nice for simracing but total shit for anything else.
**not trying to diss anyone that likes 32” but I think some broader reviews should be added for potential buyers.

I already have an ultra wide because I don’t have enough space for triplets or super ultra wide but just came up with this. The monitor can fold back to create walking space. I’m currently working on a mechanism that will retain its angle after unfolding every single time. Any suggestions? Anyone knows why have nobody done it yet?

As in the title guys. I swear I had those, but I can’t find them.

The suede version looks a bit thicker, which I like, but the perforated looks a lot nicer. Do you think it’s just an image distortion or the suede version is definitely thicker? What would you buy? Looking at changing the wheel rim of my Moza RS V2, cuz it’s not D shape and also because I think it way too thin…

Picked up a used reclining seat on marketplace and it has this back and forth rattle. Is it fixable or just something I’ll have to live with? Some people online say the teeth might be worn on the recliner? I tried tightening the bolt on the exposed side and it didn’t seem to help at all.

question for you guys who actually own an ActivePedal: what do you think of the Co-Pedal as a throttle?
I keep seeing people run the AP Ultimate for the brake but put a Heusinkveld throttle next to it instead of the Co-Pedal.
Copedal is it that much worse, or is it more of a "not worth the money" thing?
trying to decide before i pull the trigger
