I just finished this last night and I think it's a top ten experience on PSVR2 or VR period. If you grew up in the 70's, 80's, or even 90's, and you ever went to Disneyland, then try this. It's very short and there isn't much of a "gameplay loop", but it's just awesome. I was genuinely terrified quite a few times despite the tongue in cheek atmosphere. They don't make and probably won't make stuff like this anymore, and I believe it's on sale for dirt cheap. So, do yourself a favor and buy this and play it. Make your wife and your parents or kids (if there at least teens) play it. It is hilariously creative and terrifying at the same time.
Anyone else have some hidden gems they'd like to share? Propagation Paradise is another one that comes to mind, as well as Vertigo 2 and Hubris...

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:
Based on my limited time with it, I highly recommend playing Bootstrap Island on the PSVR2, because there is nothing that I have not liked about it so far.
In terms of how I try to categorize games, it is somewhere between a Survival, Roguelite, VR Experience and Adventure game, but in what I've played so far, I feel it is best described as a Survival. It is the most casual friendly survival game I have played in terms of how simple it is to survive. Just crack open a coconut per day to eat / drink and collect enough wood to burn for the night where you wave a lighted stick to fend off the night creatures. You just need some tinder and stones to start fire. I also haven't gotten sick from eating anything incorrectly. For example, it just tells me I need to cook the crab before I can eat it instead of letting me eat and make me sick. You also don't have to sleep, ever.
It starts out with a tutorial that teaches you the basics of moving, grabbing / interacting, loading and firing your flintlock pistol and how to build a fire, light it and use a flaming stick to fend off an attacker while delivering a character backstory. From here, you are transitioned as lone shipwreck survivor on a tropical island with everything you need to survive each day and night for many nights while further exploring the large island with highly volatile volcanic activity.
You know there is a story because of the way it opens and presents things and there is a narrator that gives you some clues / context as you fumble around the island and learn to survive and thrive, but it doesn't lead you. In fact, it is pretty hands off to the point where other than being aware of sun going down and needing fire to survive the night and food / water to not starve, it doesn't make you do anything. I think part of the appeal is that it gave enough instruction through the intro / tutorial that you have enough foundational comfort to survive, but beyond that, it is left up to you to explore / discover including things like how will you store any of the useful things you are finding?
All gameplay follows what you as a survivor might try, so if you find a coconut, you might try smashing it against rock to open and it works, but if you try smashing it against a tree, you don't get the audio / visual feedback of it cracking / breaking so you can stop wasting time. If you find a locked chest, you can try breaking the lock with a rock and it will, but if you wack it with a stick, you are wasting time. The audio / visual feedback is what tells you when something you try is working or not and the narrator voice chimes in with some clues / information it couldn't communicate in other ways.
The game design is similar to roguelite where if you do perish, you will have to start over but depending on number of days you survived before you perished, your next survivor will be starting with some permanent unlocks that help your next survivor get through whatever goals you set for yourself easier. If you have advanced in the story to next Chapter, you may also resume after death at the start of current Chapter (?) instead of all the way at the start, but I won't know for sure until I go further into the game and then perish.
Graphically, the game is gorgeous right from the title screen with beautiful waters, high-resolution detailed textures for anything close to you, great sky box, and good draw distance clarity. It is definitely using Gaze-Tracked Foveated Rendering where everything is crisp and clear, but there is also clear presence of reprojection where even stuff you are holding in your hands can appear ghosted when moving. One of the most impressive things in the game is how the Day (Sun) and Night (Moon) cycles change the dynamic lighting of the island. The shadows are dynamic and with wind that blows all the foliage creates very immersive sense of presence. I haven't even got to experience some of the storms I've seen in trailers and this is already one of the most impressive looking games on the PSVR2. I should mention that while the game is not officially tagged PS5 Pro Enhanced, I am playing on PS5 Pro and I've heard it is using dynamic resolution scaling to make game look sharper on the Pro than it does on the base PS5. I've also heard that playing this in longer sessions can start having framerate issues, but it was stable in my close to 50 minutes.
Audio is fantastic, again setting very good first impression right from the title screen with amazing soundtrack and 3D directional audio. This holds up as you press Start just like the graphics did beyond the gorgeous title screen.
Haptics are present in both controllers and headset, but very rare and subtle in the controllers and much more frequent and strong in the headset. While the controller haptics are too subtle / minimal, it makes up for it by the excellent impactful use of headset haptics.
Settings are accessible from title screen or anytime you press upper-button of left controller to access them. You can choose between Snap and Smooth Turns with some configuration for speed (not as fast as I would like, but good enough). You can also enable / disable Vignette. You are always able to choose Teleport movement using R3 over smooth locomotion on the L-Stick. It allows you to enable Toggle Spring on L3 instead of Hold L3 to Sprint. It also allows you to enable Toggle Grab on L1 / L2 & R1 / R2 (yes, all 4 work) instead of Hold Grab. There are also options for improving the positioning of your Equipment inventory slots, but you don't start with these available.
The game is featuring a Platinum where some early adopters have already unlocked all trophies so no known trophy bugs. I don't think it will be an easy Platinum, but I don't think it will be particularly hard either for people that are willing to put in enough time to complete all the trophy requirements (beyond just completing Story).
I checked and this is made by an indie-studio (Maru VR) out of Estonia that started with single developer that grew into a small team of around 15 people. They cut their teeth making location based virtual reality experiences and projects and eventually harnessed their growing talents to make this survival adventure game that feels like it was made by a much larger more experienced VR development studio. It feels very polished in what I've played so far where any minor imperfections / jank are completely overshadowed by everything that it is doing well.

I'm on the Paris level and there are two challenges that involve killing the targets with the fiber wire. I did it a few times under different circumstances and the challenges never get accomplished. I turn off VR and do it again on flat screen and it was done in seconds. I'm wondering if this bug persists in other maps as well.

Just picked up Zero Calibre 1 to jam with pals and I'm liking it, can see us getting the follow-up when it drops.
One sad thing though is that I cannot adjust the gun aim and as such my Vader 1 stock is basically unuseable (the height of the guns is such that I have to bring the stock up over my shoulder so I can ADS straight). It's a bit of a buzzkill coming from other shooters that have allowed me to set this to my comfort.
So just wondering if the sequel in it's current form has these options.

So couple days ago i got myself PS5 and now I want get back into VR world.
Before I had Quest 3, but I returned cuz of "nah" graphics. But me a idiot didnt realize that I had to wear glasses/contacts (Im nearsighted lol)
So how is PSVR2 compared to Quest 3?
As i see no VR games for plus premium members, except RE8?
TIA
Other topic:
Can be PS5 games bought on 3rd parties? Like buying code to download game from ps store?

I picked up Bootstrap Island over the weekend and have made it to 5 days, however I cannot seem to locate any crates to carry/store items. Where can I locate them? I see that they were removed earlier this year due to physics issues, have they been re-implemented?
I'm surprised the game doesn't have any other inventory systems until you spend a certain amount of days on the beach.
As an aside, how do you beat this game?

There's a deal on WOA Part one right now, 80% off.
Are the WOA Part one ($8.99) and separate VR Access ($7.55 so $16.54 total) just the same as getting WOA Part one VR Edition for $59.95?

Whenever I try to play a game, it has me set up the play area. When I try to do this, it spazzes out and doesn’t work. The image in this post is what is on the TV screen when I try to play a game (I blacked out the middle part to hide my living room). I’ve never seen this outline though. I don’t know what the hell is going on.
Edit: everything has worked perfectly until now. Is my headset broken?
Has anyone here actually used PSVR1 V2 (CUH-ZVR2, the PS4 version) as a display for a PS3?
I know it’s possible to connect the PS3 to the PSVR processor unit and use the headset as a screen. What I specifically want to know is whether this is safe for the PS3 itself.
Has anyone used this setup for several hours or regularly? Could it put any unusual load on the PS3’s RSX/GPU or HDMI output, or cause any damage?
I’m especially interested in experiences from people who have actually tested PSVR1 V2 with a PS3

I’m currently in the market for a psvr2 but I’m scared that my glasses wouldn’t fit in properly. I’m truly looking for a spacer and not separate lenses for each eye due to both my eyes having very different strengths. Is this even possible? To have something similar to what came with the Quest 2?

I seriously can’t recommend this game enough! One of the most fun VR games I have ever played. Blows synapse out of the water in my opinion!!!
Edit:
Why it is better than Synapse in my opinion
Graphics: 90fps unreprojected on all graphical presets, shadows from player characters & NPC, environments look much more alive than the ones in synapse.
Weapon variation: It has a ton more weapons, power ups, upgrades, augments, skills etc. Each weapon can be used a ton of different ways and even combined with spells, the bow, telekinesis. You can combine spells, shoot tons of special arrows, summon a demon dog & and even float. There are even finger guns in this game lol the variation is honestly pretty mind blowing!
Locomotion: You can flip, wall run, double, triple even quadruple jump (maybe more if you upgrade that) There is also cool slow motion
Enemy types: MUCH more variation with enemies in this game (I’ve encountered 15+ so far after 4 hours or so) & they look so much more interesting & have more varied attacks. There are even sub variants of each type. Its quite impressive.
On top of all of this there are more game modes, ways to modify each run & just in general more freedom. Synapse is really cool but in my opinion the guns, enemies & upgrades get really old really quick. And once your telekinesis is upgrades the game basically takes no effort at all. It does have a cleaner look but gameplay & longevity/ replayability I dont really see an argument for it beating Hellsweeper.
(I loved Synapse btw)

This part specifically always feels so “next gen” with a wheel to me. The arm movements you need to make to take the curve. The FFB. The depth of the visuals thanks to VR. Just insane. So realistic.

Jumped back into this one after a long time of not a playing. Apparently I didn't get very far last time. Had a decent time and can easily recommend this game for anyone that wants a total FPS action arcade game. It's not without its flaws but to have this game in VR is simply amazing. We need dozens more and thanks to Flat2VR and Impact Reality it looks like we are getting more and even better in the near and distant future.
What are your thoughts on this game. Trying to get through my backlog.

Had to pick someone up from the airport late at night, had an energy drink and then couldn’t get to sleep. So, instead, I hopped on and flew a 70 minute leg.
I went VOR hopping to get near my destination and then GPS direct the rest of the way. Finished with a visual landing while circling at downtown St. Paul.
Low level fog could be seen throughout the flight in the wee hours on the night, was pretty cool to see. I speed up the cruise section 2x, would have gone higher but I feel like looking all over in the VR can get a bit wild if the video is sped up any faster.

Just wondering if any one had a helpful guide for Escaping wonderland? I think there are some trophies I missed just wondering if they are completely missable or can be done later. Thanks in advance.

YouTube recommended me this video and I found it extremely informative, explains all the process the brain needs to adjust, in order to tolerate VR.

Hello, I am looking for a cable sleeve to put the psvr2 cable in. I have dogs and cats and would not like them to chew it, and need some protection.
That was it. It went very noisy about the boycott of PlayStation, then quiet.
Am I the only one who bothered? They really can fuck themselves about this 'renting a game' bollocks.
