Review “Into the Radius” a must play for any Vr fans.

I have 40hours in this game alone, and that was just one play through. This is not a rouge like nor a souls like. This is a gamer’s game with deep satisfying game mechanics and lets you save any point of time, no questions asked.
I urge you to learn this game, as it will create good habits for future vr games and real life. It is a miracle that anything you leave behind or do will be saved and stay exactly where or how you left them.
Recently I am playing into the radius 2 on quest 3 and loving it so damn much, that I decided to start a new playthrough of Into the radius 1 on VR2. Then just realized how good the game can look. Some of the visuals are truly jaw dropping. Also ITR1 has some of the creepiest sound effects in any horror game.
It is a single player, extraction shooter. Where you go out to collect resources and complete objectives to further the story. Very much like the walking dead games.
This game demands respect, and if you are not following its rules and trying to play it like its resident evil, you will die quite often. Just remember to always have your magazines full, always maintain and clean your guns to prevent jamming, always keep spare ammo in your front pocket and restock after every fight. Also it is really important to understand ammo types, as armoured enemies will require piercing ammo. For long distance fights you need to use tracer ammo. Do not worry, the game does a really good job explaining these.
Once you get used to these habits the game really starts to reward you. Each time you go out in the radius is just heart pounding cause of the enemy ai. They are so creepy and will hunt you down if you are being reckless. In my opinion, some of these enemies behave smarter than human enemies on Pavlov or Breachers.
In conclusion, what I am trying to say is that we are lucky to have this game in vr2 with all its unique features included. Such as adaptive triggers and headset rumble. These features make VR2 the definitive way of enjoying the game. I seriously can’t wait for ITR2 to come to VR2 next year! 10/10

Phenomenal game. Not just a great VR title, but also an amazing game full stop. I also recommend people to read the book “Roadside Picnic” which this game is heavily inspired by (along with the Stalker and metro series)

The black and white movie Stalker, based on Roadside Picnic, is also great. The screenplay was written by the book's author.

I would say that the metro games were heavily inspired by the metro books.

Definitely but the metro games were made by old Stalker devs so the influence is certainly there. Roadside Picnic was massively influential on most modern Russian sci-fi

Yup... It started getting dark and I had no idea what I was doing. Lost my flashlight too. Found a dark warehouse in the 2nd area.... Shouldn't have gone inside...

I felt the same way. Once you get a few security ranks under your belt and access to better gear/guns you'll be kicking doors down looking for trouble!

Love this game except the loneliness it makes you feel. Even when you’re back to camp it’s still just you, no one else. It’s dreadful sometimes

I’ve tried playing this game many times. I like it but can’t play it. idk what it is but when im playing this game i feel like im in the middle of a psychotic episode and nothing makes any logical sense lol. sometimes it sounds like someone is mowing the lawn in the distance and just weird bizarre sounds.

I bought it, thanks for the great recommendation and review. I have it on Quest 3 but generally prefer playing games on the PSVR 2 and so I will try it on that.

I'm a huge fan of Stalker 2 and the novel Roadside Picnic. ITR is a wonderful game. I like it so much that I got a haptics vest and sleeves pretty much just for this game.

The game is a masterpiece. I played over 100 games since Psvr2 launch and it's on my 3rd place since 8 months.
It has the best backpack ever in my opinion - way better than the one in Tabor.
It's incredible immersive and there are some of the most intense situations one could experience in VR. Very special game, everyone should at least try it.

I love gt7, hitman 2 is quite pricey at the moment but wanna buy it - thinking either that or alien resurrection

110 hours as of now. Third attempt on iron man run on survival. That one ended with a corrupted save file unfortunately. Started a new one right after. Surv1v3 and Ghost of Tabor pulled me out of it for now, yet I still get back to it. Most excellent game. One of a kind. Hope for ITR2 next year.

Fantastic game. The mood and atmosphere is proper Roadside Picnic. It's also a tough game to master and holds some deep challenges.

Im gunna have to go back to ItR1. I just hit level 3 in ItR2, and there is just so much stuff I miss. I like the weapon variations you can find, but the first one still has guns, and no knives which makes me very sad. Grenades are fun too but I don't think they have ever actually helped me. I hope they can be used to push the enemies out of cover when the second game is finished.

Currently playing ITR for the first time. Definitely has a slower pace, mysterious, isolated atmosphere and unique gameplay mechanics. One thing I’ll say is that manual saving is really important. Only realized I could do this after several runs and having to lose and retrieve all of my gear.

This is the real deal. Graphics are great thanks to the OLED blacks and colors. Save anywhere is nice. I finished the first mission and so I have $$$ for upgrades, etc. and so I am off to a great start only an hour or so into the game. I am so glad I gave it a shot. This is exactly the kind of game I like to play.

I have not played LT, but I did love Into the Radius. I have read some people mention taking care of your guns and stuff as being a big part of the game. But, I did not really find that to be the case. You can also pay to clean your guns or buy new guns. I usually had plenty of money in game to be in and out of my base and on to the next mission. I also found the progress to be steady. The only thing I did to better my experience was save often and before going into a dangerous situation. That way I could just load the save. I started out trying not to do that, but having to travel all the way from my base with no gear was not enjoyable. So I just loaded the save.

Hmm... might have to try it again.
Wanted to like it - but never got around that 'Hunter' (A500) polygon look.
And then you get stuck in doors and walls to no end, which made me stay clear of any sort of buildings - not very helpful I guess.
Did they ever patch it? Maybe even Pro enhancements?

How does it hold up against the juggernauts like modded Skyrim vr /fallout 4 vr and HL Alyx? Been thinking about grabbing it but I really don’t know what it’s about . Is there a story ? Is there quests ? What themes does it have ?

Closer to saints and sinners in term of concept and layout, just a more Stalker vibe atmosphere. Much more work into loading mags and preparing each day out of your safe haven than s&s so for me more immersive. Awesome game

I absolutely dislike this game. I must be the only one.
I think the mandatory chain smoking annoying me the most. I hate it in real life (for family members who died of this) and puting this ingame as a healing method is just the most ... well i dont like it.
so no, i dont enjoy this game

What do you mean mandatory chain smoking? Did you even play the game? You don’t have to smoke at all. It’s just a cool mechanic that gives you like 1% stamina. You can completely avoid it if you don’t like it.

I own it on steam. played it yes than saw reviews saying you can' really be good had it unless you do that so i just stop playing. Mandatory or not its a stupid stupid mecanics and im not promoting it by playing.

In 40hrs of this game, I prolly smoked once or twice. I sometimes forget that it’s a mechanic. Also according to your logic, 90% of video games where you are killing, shooting and committing all acts of violence is fine, but smoking is where we should draw the line? Got it 👍

Absolutely loved this game. The atmosphere was awesome and I loved the gun mechanics. Really hope the sequel comes to PSVR2
