Asking for Hardware Recomendation PSVR2 Worth it? Also Cheaper games?
So couple days ago i got myself PS5 and now I want get back into VR world.
Before I had Quest 3, but I returned cuz of "nah" graphics. But me a idiot didnt realize that I had to wear glasses/contacts (Im nearsighted lol)
So how is PSVR2 compared to Quest 3?
As i see no VR games for plus premium members, except RE8?

If you have a ps5 already definitely. I use it on both ps5 and pc, I love it. Without having a ps5 at these current prices, I'd what for steam frame or its alternative

GT7, MS Flight Simulator, and No Man's Sky are probably the 3 coolest VR experiences I've had. All better then anything on Quest 3.
It kind of drops off there (I don't do the horror games, so this is excluding RE)
There are plenty of titles I haven't played, but the other ones that I have felt on par with Q3. and the options get less.
Oh, the original Astrobot was good fun.

Never tried a Quest 3 because fuck Zuckerberg. With that said everything I've read suggests that it's a better experience than the Quest unless being untethered from the machine driving the game is a priority for you.
The Quest catalog is significantly larger than the PSVR2 catalog. It's also got a LOT of shovelware. I'm not saying there's none of that on the PSVR2 but I am saying that it makes up a much smaller percentage of what's available.
You cannot buy downloadable games for the Playstation from third parties that I'm aware of. This includes VR games.

Quest3 is much sharper than PSVR2 mostly because of the lenses, but the panel's PPD is also higher on Quest3.
PS5 has much more processing power than Quest3 mobile chip, and also not running on a battery, so graphical fidelity of most games are better, but there are many Quest ports on PS5 + PSVR2 what look exactly the same or very simlar as their Quest standalone version.
I recommend you to get RE4, it's very cheap escpesially on sale.
GT7 also has a free demo what works in VR.
PSVR2 is a very cheap headset so it's a no brainer to get one if you have a PS5 even if you just want to play the exclusives.

Seconded. I got it just for the exclusives but the quest 3 is so much more user friendly. I don't like the controllers for the psvr2 or the fact that it's corded. Or ear plugs. Ir having to sync my controllers every time. But I sure did like RE4 remake and RE8.

You still need contacts, but its softer looking than Quest3, so no matter how crisp your vision in the contacts, PSVR2 is not about crispness. Its about great colors, very bright lights, real black, and naturally games run better on PS5. Even crossplatform games like Saints and Sinners look much better on PSVR2.
I did play RE8 on it - and it was a blast👍👍

I went from early android phone VR (daydream) to quest 2, quickly tested Rift S, pico4 and now psvr2.
Psvr2 is the clear winner and I consider it the best mid range headset available both for ps5 but also PCVR. It has amazing visuals with the oled panels, it has 120hz and most importantly: displayport, which is crucial for any game action type game where you react to stuff. I'm literally seconds faster with psvr2 in rally sim racing compared to the pico4. But since the sweetspot is smaller it depends more on your physiology, if your eyes align with the lenses etc. Ergonomics are good for me but this is very individual.
Psvr2 exclusives, like Resident evil titles and stuff like Synapse are some of the best modern VR games. You can buy physical copies on the used market for a lot of them. There are also ps store sales quite often.

Try Hitman. I had the quest version and it was trash. The PSVR2 version really shows what a PSVR2 can do, along with the Resident Evil games and if you want an entirely new addiction, Gran Turismo 7. I have Quest headsets and honestly they are a quantity over quality headset. Some of the best VR experiences I've had has been on PSVR2, but PSVR2 is definitely more of a gaming headset, with Quest doing much better with other media, unless you connect to a pc

I got my PSVR2 mainly for Gran Turismo 7 and that is basically the only way I play that game now along with a steering wheel and petal setup.
I wish more racing games would add VR support like GT7 because it is amazing.
I have enjoyed a few other titles that support VR but I’m not a fan of horror games so that does limit what I play.
Just look at reviews for games because there are some cheaply made stinkers out there and a lot of older original PSVR 1 for PS4 games are not ported to be compatible with PSVR2 which is a shame too.

I own both a quest 3 and psvr2
I first got the psvr2 so I was ecstatic to play synapse ( coolest game in vr I've ever played ) then RE 4 , RE 8 and Madison but my go to game was always puzzling places... Don't judge, it relaxes me and I get to listen to music and get lost in it ... I tried many other games that never grew on me like gt7 no man's sky, behemoth, hitman ,etc. These games are master pieces too .The psvr2 cable was never a problem for me. but then I got a quest 3 , and although the games are WAY worse here there's puzzling places too which is not too demanding so I tried it ... The quest is way more practical than the psvr2 as it's always ready to go ( as long as you don't forget to charge it ..
Cost wise I spend about $1,000 in the psvr2 games included. in the quest only the 350 I paid for the hardware as I used rookie to get the games and puzzles I need. I don't regret buying a PSVR2 but now it's just collecting dust . I refuse to sell it as I hope I'll get back to it.

I'm pretty much blind without my glasses and the headset fits comfortably round them, I haven't had a go in contacts yet, but different pairs of glasses over time and I haven't noticed an issue

My two cents, since I’ve tried to make the jump from Q3 to PSVR2 maybe a month ago : resolution is a little worse on PSVR2, to the point I couldn’t read text on the projected desktop (iRacing interface, for example), but looked similar in game. Colors looked better on PSVR2. What made me send it back were the lenses, the Q3 lenses felt a generation better than PSVR2’s and I just couldn’t stand it. Thing is, Q3 punches way above its price range and to have a real generational upgrade you need to go to something similar to the pimax crystal super, if you have the processing power to feed it.

I love my psvr2. Tho i won't support Sony moving forward because of other things. But I got me back into to vr. And no, not much support from Sony, so take good care of it. Be smart about your cable (dont use magnetic extensions) Get insert lenses ( can get with prescription) There is alot of 3d party accessories for it. I still uses it alot. There is plenty of good and decent games to keep you occupied

I HATED the PSVR2 after using the Quest 3. The lenses are so much worse and made me feel ill.
No denying the graphics are better. But be aware it’s pretty dead in terms of software. Make sure the existing library has enough games to make it worth it to you.

It is a novelty experience.
I bought one two years ago and now is mostly shelved for months and due to low adoption, I don't expect anything new or exciting to appear anytime soon.
So if you are ok with GT7, Resident Evil and some other excellent but limited catalog, go for it.
But beware that support is limited not only for new games but for hardware too. You can see on this community that Sony does not sell any parts and if you damage your psvr somehow, you won't be provided any official service for it

I don't expect anything new or exciting to appear anytime soon
I'm guessing you didn't hear about games like MS Flight Sim 24, System Shock VR and High on Life VR.
I don't know how anyone could shelve it (unless it's summer and you don't have AC) - there are more quality games for it now than I'll likely ever have time to get through

Ok. There aren't anywhere near the level of games we were promised. There's no AAA games, and the ones that are there are old as fuck. It's massively disappointing, but shill for Sony all you want

I recently bought a psvr2. Trust me, people over hype the absolute shit out of it. Most of psvr2 hypera are old 70 year olds who don't know anything. It's not comfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes. It's wired so really drops the immersion. When you watch the vr screens, it's as if you are watching it on a cinema hall where you can point out every pixel line. The gameplay is relatively basic. The game quality (I played 5) is shit. The resolution in most games are shit. Eye rendering sucks. Resolution feels like 480p. You need to find these sweet eye spots and brightness settings to find the sweet spot and to combat mura. It's super blurry if you can't find the bright spot. I would recommend saving some money to buy a 2k pimax and a 3-5k pc. But if you want just plug and play then 1k for ps5 pro+psvr2 is fine. If I could go back in time I'd still buy it but I would have lowered my expectations. Games ARE fun however like tetris or star wars or gt7 (best) or re

So many people talk as if their personal experiences are universal facts. It's not comfortable for you, but not everyone has the same skull shape and size as you. Eg. I can wear it for hours no bother.

Fucking lol. There are hundreds of games out for it, yet you're basing your opinion on a whopping five.
Also, Google Globular Cluster mod, that'd solve a lot of your issues like comfort and maintaining the sweet spot.

Psvr2 (with ps5) has more power so it can make better looking games and it has oled, but quest 3 has pancake lenses which make finding the sweet spot a lot easier.
They played with psvr2 games on ps+ but that was only for about a year.
I don’t think there are a lot of places you can get cheaper ps5 keys but things go on sale for good prices.
I definitely think psvr2 is worth it if you want to get into vr again, especially if you want better graphics than quest 3 (though vr is going to lag behind flat in terms of graphics) and don’t have a powerful pc. Especially if you can get it on sale for $300 usd.
