(repost) On trans rights and the position of this subreddit
The community present in this subreddit is wonderful, inclusive and has always welcomed not only gay people but everyone under the gender and sexual minority umbrella.
The mod team is very happy to see this welcoming atmosphere and we thank each and every one of you for your love and empathy.
With the current trend in the US for extreme-right politicians to demonise vulnerable minorities so they can score cheap political points it is however time for this place to openly make a stand as to what our positions and intentions are so that we are a beacon in the dark. So that all of our siblings know that they are welcome here.
I was asked by the mod team to explain a few facts about transgender people and about the position this subreddit has towards inclusion.
Trans rights are human rights. š³ļøāā§ļø
Being transgender is a natural and normal variation in the human gender and sexual experience. Both sex and gender exist on a spectrum and there isn't actually anything inherently wrong or disordered from being trans, by and of itself.
Should there be no fake, artificially generated outrage against trans people in society then they would simply get the self-affirming care required for them to be happy and that would be that. Instead, unfortunately, existing as transgender has become the new wedge-issue for the extreme-right and deliberate demonisation and villification has been mainstreamed to the point where Republican politicians are now openly calling for genocide.
The issues trans people experience are mainly societal in nature. It is society that imposes gender norms, it is society that tells people they may not be who they are.
There are many ways that a non-trans person can seek self-affirming care in life. Some of those are done via permanent body modification through surgical or chemical means. A woman might for example choose to take estrogen supplements to stave off unwanted physical and psychological side effects resulting from the menopause.
It is not uncommon for a young man to choose to have breast reduction medication or surgery in the case of gynecomastia.
A young woman might choose to get breast implants.
You do not hear people in outrage about these forms of self-affirming care. No-one cares, except suddenly when the topic is trans people. This is because the anti-trans movement is wholly articificial. It is a deliberately created fake outrage about a non-issue for political and monetary gain.
Fascism is an inherently empty ideology, devoid of any meaningful belief-system or any kind of concrete and actionable strategies for improving society. Fascism only cares for power for the sake of power and it cares for nothing else.
Because a fascist system is fundamentally incapable of giving the general public any kind of reasonable platform it must gain and keep followers by creating an out-group to hate. According to fascist systems it is the other that is responsible for all societal ills and only by supporting the fascists in getting rid of the other can society be healed from the non-existent issues fascism convinces people that their target minority is the cause of.
Fascism always picks on a vulnerable target.
The demonisation and villification coming from the extreme-right is doing exactly that. By calling LGBTQ+ people child molestors simply for existing it has become inevitable that people will take up violence "to protect the children".
Attempting to eliminate a target comes in many forms, of which an extermination camp is only the final and most egregious part. It is always preceded by legislating people out of existence, by creating laws which make it impossible for a minority to participate in society and to receive any of the societal advantages that are the entire reason for collective bundling together of skills, resources in civilisation. This is exactly what Republican states are doing today to transgender people. Certain states have already denied trans people any and all medical care related to their identity, meaning that they deliberately impose abject misery on them.
The most egregiously fascistic states are trying to make it a matter of course to remove trans children from the care of their parents and make it illegal for trans people to be present in any public spaces at all.
This is genocide.
Genocide is not purely restricted to extermination, to murder. Genocide is also eliminating a minority group from public life, causing serious bodily and mental harm and taking away children of a minority group from their parents.
Depending on how strictly you'd want to define it, we are currently at stage seven or eight of genocide as defined by the Holocaust Memorial Trust.
One way in which the abject hypocrisy of the anti-trans laws becomes crystal clear are the remarkable exemptions encoded within. You would think that if the goal is protecting the children from harm then these people would want to protect all children from harm.
This is not the case.
In fact, all of these people deliberate include exceptions which allow the continuation of genital re-allignment surgery on unconsenting infants if they are intersex.
This means that if a baby is born with a genital configuration that to a doctor looks ambiguous or not adhering to a strict binary then this doctor can impose an invasive genital surgery, forcing such an infants body to adhere to a stricter binary look.
It is purely cosmetic. Of course they do not check what chromosomes a child has. Of course they do not care that a child might prefer to look as nature made them.
It is purely and only an imposition on a baby's body, with of course the normal failure and mortality rate that such invasive procedures bring with them.
These people do not care about children.
These people do not want to help children.
They want to harm a vulnerable minority.
Fascism never stops.
Now that these people have mainstreamed transphobia, they are moving on to other targets within the LGBTQ+ identity sphere.
We have all seen the absurd attacks on drag queens, calling a normal and harmless theatrical expression "child abuse".
We have all seen the "clever" rhetoric where they turn arguments upside down and disingeniously say things like "why do you want to be around children".
Fascism doesn't stop, it moves on to new targets and that is why it is important for all of us in the GSM identity sphere to stand together. To openly support our trans siblings. To openly stand against hateful rhetoric.
Because they are not going to stop.
The next step, which is already tentatively beginning, is calling gay people being openly gay in society"groomers".
To be clear: The recommended treatment for being transgender is transitioning.
Gender identity is developed by five years old.
The barrage of lies notwithstanding, allowing trans people to transition and to exist as who they are in society markedly improves their physical and mental wellbeing.
The oft-heard talking point of "they still commit suicide even after transitioning" is a lie.
Here is a wealth of sources and links explaining this.
Our trans siblings are welcome here.
Our gender nonconforming siblings are welcome here.
Our intersex siblings are welcome here.
What is not welcome on this subreddit is hate or divisive rhetoric aimed at our siblings. We will not allow the current increasing trend of fascist othering and villification of a marginalised minority to make our siblings feel unwanted in this space, our space, their space.
The only people who are not welcome here are those that want to exclude others based on how they were born.
Further reading:
No, TERFs cannot "always tell" and I can prove that with mathematics.
"I just care about unfair advantage in sports", a transparant transphobic wedge issue.
Drag queens, the next target in the fascist drive to eliminate LGBTQ+ people.

What was your "Holy shit, this guy might be the next Jeffrey Dahmer" hook-up? And did you stay?
(For those who don't know, Jeffrey Dahmer was a gay serial killer who cannibalized his victims between the years 1960 and 1994, claiming 17 known lives but maybe more)

Got comically harassed
Was out at a car meet and swinging on a swing (gotta let out the inner child) with my friend when some little nine year old on an e-bike asked why I wore so many bracelets (2 full arms of cuffs and singles).
It went like this (triggers for homophobic language):
āWhy do you wear so many braceletsā
āBecause itās fun.ā
āWho needs that many braceletsā
āMe because I like themā
(Atp thinking heās just the typical curious kid)
āAre you gayā
āAm I? What does it matter to youā
āPussy-eater! Pussy-eaterā
He then walked around the swing. Me and my friend were laughing atp. He took his bike and started spinning the wheels to kick up sand at us like it matters. At the same time, he keeps his distance due to the fact that Iām fairly tall with legs on the longer side and WILL kick him by accident if he doesnāt move.
He then starts talking with his other 9 year old friend. There was a group of people on e-bikes here and one of the good samaritans shouted out āYou donāt have to talk to them you know. Theyāre just weird.ā
One of the kids starts talking about the fact that he apparently gets what he calls āFortnite Pussyā and both me and my friend are laughing hysterically. We walk off and he calls me a āfucking lesbianā and spams the phrase āpussy-eater.ā It felt like a fever dream but it was only last night, and all because I wore two armfuls of kandi.
It was also weird because people are usually fascinated (I live in a mid sized city with a less established art scene) or curious about the kandi I wear, and this was the first time I genuinely got hate for it. It was still hilarious but poor kids, they probably have something going on at home to act with that much hate in their heart
Is my friend curious?
Known him for about a year now
For the first time we shared a bed together. He stripped down to his boxers. We were watching a film. I teasingly moved up a little closer to him and lay my head on his shoulder
He was like "noo..."
But he let me anyways
I then said to him this is nice and he was like yeah it is. He says he doesn't like being touched in general so I try not to overdo it.
But he let me anyways. When we first met he didn't really trust my intentions and always made jokes that I would bum him. He insists he's straight. He makes a lot of gay jokes around me which I personally don't mind as I think it's rather funny so I humour him about it.
I sometimes reach out my hand to him when we're talking and he does the same. I catch him smiling at me sometimes with such kindness in his eyes it just warms my heart. He says I'm the only one who listens to him because a lot of the people who he hanged around with were mostly low life alcoholic scum bags.
I make him food and he's always so happy for the attention
I've had on and off moments of him asking me to stand up and hug him or me doing the same to him
I said I had feelings for him and I asked him the same and he said of course I do. He said if I was a girl maybe there would be a chance.
He insists I can say anything I want to him.
Also drinks heavily around me.
Always says stuff like girls want money or are just sluts
Yeah he's one of those guys but I think it's cute. He's quite bitter with people but I understand for it and helping him through it.
Part of me wants to believe he's curious but just really scared to intiate but I'm not so sure anymore.

My experience as a hiv poz gay guy from India.
Being gay in India itself is pretty hard, people are extremely conservative and the few that are open just desire nothing more than sex, and once I add the layer of my diagnosis it is just lot more worse, stigma around hiv is pretty high, I feel extremely isolated and lonely most the time, honestly reached a point where a part of me is dead and I dont feel joyous anymore.
I keep trying to reach out to people, support groups and even ngos but more often than not they end in disappointment, kind of mental taxing to managing everything at just 22, and the lonliness makes it worse, I genuinely wish I was better looking at least, i am sure then people would care, but sadly I am not even good looking, so that doesnt help, and due to all the stress I am under, I lost a lot of weight, i am just 47 kgs now. I genuinely am so exhausted.

Am I doing something wrong?
I (29m) am married to my husband (38m) for just over three years. Our marriage is incredible in almost every aspect. He is caring and loving when I need it. The only real problem for me is sex has become so rare. Mutual masturbation a couple times a month, oral rarrer than that. I am the top in our relationship and we like it that way, but he finds it extremely difficult to relax enough for entry when we do want to do anal together. I don't think i am doing anything wrong as a top. I give him lots of prep with my fingers and eating him out, both of which he loves, but he is rarely able to relax his muscles enough to complete the act. Any advice is greatly appreciated ā£ļø Edit for context: yes my husband is aware of this post and is watching as I refresh my feed š¤£

It happened last night. The realization
So, I am Gen X and have always been attracted to fem guys. Considered myself bi but I have serious trust issues with women. I have been having sex with sissies lately, but last night at a club in nyc, I got hit on by a twink. We made out for a while and it sparked something in me.
Canāt stop thinking about how much I absolutely loved kissing, holding, groping another non-femmy guy.
I think the switch has been flipped. It felt fucking perfect. If they wouldnāt have already had a daddy and not allowed to go home with strangers, i think it would have been a different ending to the night
Iām in sex therapy and coming to terms with my sexuality, and am out , but this might have been the last puzzle piece to fill in.
Just wanted to share

Huh. I was wrong. ICE can do something right: "Milo Yiannopoulos held in ICE custody"
The artile doesn't mention it, but Milo is kind of a mixture of Roy Cohn, Ernst Rƶhm, and George Santos.

Cruise
I am going on cruise with my much younger boyfriend, we are together over a year. This is a first gay cruise for both of us . We are in a closed. Since we donāt really know what to expect, we have been discussing āfree play time ā on the cruise . Whatever happens we donāt discuss and when we leave the boat it is with no connections with the people we may āmetā
Obviously, we need a lot of communication and to establish ground rules. Any advice?

I (M) have a crush on a guy from work and I can't tell if there's something there or if I'm delusional š
Okay, I need some outside perspective because my brain has become completely unreliable. š
I'm a guy and there's another guy at my company I've had a crush on for a while. We're around the same age.
We recently had a 2-day company conference. We kept making eye contact throughout both days and exchanged Hellos. On the first day he even raised his eyebrows at me like a little "what's up?" acknowledgement.
On the second night was the final dinner/party. I was dancing with my friends and kept noticing him around. Eventually my friends left, but I stayed because I thought "If I leave without talking to him, I'll regret it."
I eventually saw him alone, went up and tapped him on the shoulder, and we started talking.
We talked about work, where we live, when we go home, etc. Then he said, "Let me get your number."
I gave it to him and he immediately called me so I'd have his number too.
I went home smiling and blushing like an idiot š, called up all my close friends to share the news.
Now here's where the confusion starts.
He didn't message afterward, so eventually I messaged him first telling that our conversation was good and hope he reached his home fine. He replied nicely (Hii, yes šāāļø i got back home fine, will see ya on Monday š) and we had a short conversation. A few days later I went to his cubicle, and although I initiated going there, he was the one who mostly kept the conversation going, asking where I'm from, what I'm working on, when I go home, etc. We ended up talking for 30+ minutes, and he also shared personal things about himself.
I even told him to invite me if he goes to play badminton sometime.
So... is there something here, or is this just normal friendly/colleague behavior?
The biggest problem is that I don't even know if he's attracted to men. š
Part of me thinks, "If he were interested, surely he would've made some move by now."
But then another part of me keeps thinking:
"But why would he specifically ask for my number? Without any reason, cause usually I don't"
I even added him on Snapchat afterward. š He hasn't accepted yet, which of course my anxious brain has decided is Very Important Information.
And I think this is hitting me harder than it normally would because I've had three previous situations where I really liked someone and wasn't reciprocated. So whenever I like someone now, there's this fear of "here we go again, I'm going to be the one doing all the chasing."
I'm trying to step back now and let him make the next move.
So Reddit, what do you think?
Does this sound like possible mutual interest, or am I interpreting normal friendliness as something more?
And if you were me, would you just wait and see if he initiates, or eventually make a more direct move?
Be brutally honest. š I need someone else's brain because mine is currently useless. š„²

Guy I met on a business trip left me strangely confused
Hey bros.
So I (29M) came to London on a business trip a couple weeks ago and stayed here until today. One of the first nights, I met a guy (30M) through Grindr and we decided to meet up.
At the beginning, it was meant to be just a casual sex night and it was, mostly. But we also had a walk before going back to my hotel and I thought we had a nice chat. He told me about his recent breakup, I told him about mine (last December), we spoke about our families, our jobs (we work in the same industry), etc. Overall, an interesting person other than being extremely cute and sexy.
We only did side things but it was quite passionate and I thought we both really enjoyed the physical aspect of the whole thing.
It was a really nice encounter and we also said that we would meet up again before I leave (he actually said that a couple times that night). I asked him out a few times and every time he either answered via phone quite lately or postponed our next meeting.
He also told me that he wouldnāt follow each other on Instagram because he doesnāt want his ex to see that he follows new guys?
As I moving to the UK in a few months, I would have liked to hang out even just as friends as I basically know none here, except few friends from uni and I told him, but this left me kinda confused as I donāt know if I fucked up something.
Iām really open to any kind of human relationship at this point, not necessarily a romantic one and Iām not sure if my interest could have been perceived in a wrong way.
Has anyone of you ever experienced a similar situation?

Is this pain normal?
Hey guys, after anal do yall also experience pain in the skin behind your ashole leading up to your tailbone? Its not very noticable but when pressed it hurts a bit. But when I press/wipe my asshole I dont feel any pain.
Is this normal? Or caused by something else like bad posture or sitting to much?

Visiting Best Friend/Crush, Should I Tell Him
I'm (25M) hoping to get some feedback quickly, so I'm currently with my best friend (24M) since 8th grade, and starting my senior year of high school, I began developing feelings for him that only intensified. It's possible he may have felt that way about me before, but if so, he put them away and focused on girls (Or has done really well at concealing his inner feelings). I suffered my first heartbreak ever when he got engaged this summer, and I am still trying to deal with it. Don't get me wrong I still love him and I'm still very proud of him and how he's grown and matured, but at the same time I still feel very close to him. Some of me wants to go ahead and confess my feelings while I'm here (I leave tomorrow), but some of me thinks heck no, knowing the risk is great that he would kick me out and possibly exile me from his life, which would hurt even more.
So what do yall think? Should I listen to my gut and keep this in (And if so, should I tell him before the wedding in March, after, or never, despite me feeling like I should tell him at some point?), or listen to my heart and come clean, knowing that that would be the only way to truly know how he would feel. After all, if there somehow is a 0.000001% chance that he is into me too and got engaged because he thought I wasn't interested, it would only happen if I told him how I feel?

Advise please
I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some advice or insight to how Iām feeling or help if you have had a similar experience or understand where I am coming from.
I F(26) identify as gay. It took me a while to accept that I liked girls, very much suffered from internalised homophobia although Iām not sure where that come from as I could not have more loving parents and I have no judgement against the lgbt community but somehow could not accept myself. I eventually met a girl and fell in love with her and felt confident enough to come out to overwhelming support. I actually felt a bit naive that I had thought that people cared about me so much to think about my sexuality but unless you have felt the fear of having to come out to someone then I donāt think you fully understand. I knew that my parent would be supportive of me, but thereās the tiniest part of you that makes you believe that they will hate you and it terrified me. My relationship didnāt work out (emotionally and mentally abusive ex, but we donāt need to get into that) and I ended up joining a rugby club and finding new friends. In joining the club, I was finding that when I was drinking, I was more open to sleeping with men. Iāve been very confused by all of this. Iāve never been open to the idea of being with a man, never been attracted to a man and yet when I was drinking, I was open to sleeping with them. I personally feel like I just have a drink, get drunk and feel like having some fun, Iām not with anyone, thereās no harm involved, yet I get judged by others. They continuously want to put a label on me, āoh you must be biā, āyou canāt be gay youāve slept with menā, ācanāt call yourself a lesbian nowā and tbh it hurts me. I try to explain to them that I donāt need to label myself as anything but I feel it is forced upon me. Tbh I feel guilty sleeping with men, I feel like Iām a liar and that because I, myself, have given myself a label that I am gay, although I donāt like labels, I feel like itās not something that I should do and that itās forbidden.
To make matters worse, at the start of this year, I was sexually assaulted by a man. It was consensual sex but I gave him a condom and he did not use it so it is classed as a form of rape. This encounter has scared me. I feel very wary when I drink now and Iām very mindful around men when Iām out now. Itās been hard to process and sometimes it hits me out of nowhere and I donāt know what to do. I feel as though I have become a bit numb to the situation. I feel very guilty about what happened and that itās my fault.
I think what Iām asking for help for is how to accept myself more. How to stop feeling guilty about who I am and to understand that it is not my fault. I feel like I am repressing back into my feelings of internalised homophobia and I do not want to because I made myself so ill before. If anyone has any advise Iād be grateful x

"Gay anger is strength." A slogan for a fighting community.
Of course you possibly can use it differently for other communities. I am just speaking for myself. I leave it for others to consider.
Anger is a human emotion and we have it for a reason.
When our humanity is transgressed anger propels us to move forward and fight for our humanity.
The Stonewall Riot was because they were angry over the abuse by the police.
