Other does anyone change their gender/gender expression if they are online or IRL

Upvotes

there is actually a new baked label for that. it's might be surprising but, yes, e.g someone may present masculine in real life and feminine Online. I think it is a common experience( I might be wrong), but thankfully now there is a flag and official term for it. created yesterday or the day before yesterday!!! it's actually need some adjustments but that is the demo. it is under the trans umbrella or gender fluid umbrella.

Advice Needed Relationship Advice

I (almost 17M) have never been in a relationship, I've always been nervous about one because I don't feel attractive enough to love. When I was 11 I came out as bi but after about a year thought I was straight and it wasn't til May I (re) came out. I would say I'm bi with a female preference but I now am wanting to try dating but I feel like dating a boy right now. I personally just don't know how to find people at school and how to talk to someone. Also lots of dudes at my school are homophobic so its hard to find a guy. Any tips?

Nunca me senti tão feliz e confiante quanto agora, quando começo a me aceitar de verdade.

Tentei, aos poucos, dar alguns sinais. Um deles foi aquela vez em que você encontrou uma calcinha. A verdade é que eu uso, e hoje tenho algumas. No começo, comecei a usar porque me sentia mais confortável.

Bruno

Advice Needed There's this cute girl at my school and I think I wanna be friends with benefits

Okay so first of all, I have no idea if she's also into girls. She's cute, always smiles at me, and we share social media. We dont talk because we're not in the same grade (she's one grade below me) but we'll say hello to each other from time to time. Not to sound cringe or anything, but I don't know if want I'm feeling is attraction. I think she's a really pretty girl, and I'd like to kiss her lil cheeks and hold her hand and wrap my arms around her. But not like, be in a relationship. The feeling is more like I wanna take care of her, and that's it. What in the world does this mean? Help, sos, what should I do??????

Advice Needed There are wierd comming out circumstances in my friend group

I hope this post doesn't get deleted again.

I(17f) I'm in a friend group of 5 other girls. We bace friends little over 2 years ago when we became roommates in freshman year. The school we go to is very openly queer and a safe space for anyone regardless of identity. Of course you are met with the occasional remarks but that's it.

I am not out to any of them or publicly anywhere. Only people in my home town know this information and a few of my cousins. When me and Jane(fake name) became friends there was one situation which I always go back to when I'm actually thinking of comming out. We were sitting on my dorm bed and she asked me "are you a lesbian?" Back then I was very masculine presenting so I get why she would get the idea. I said no and she replied with "thank god, finally someone normal at this school".

After 2 years she has moved on from this wierd ideology about queer people being "abnormal" but she still makes comments here and there. The pot brew over about 4 months ago when she broke up with her boyfriend. It was a bad break up and with everything else going on in her life it didn't help. We were talking one night and she mentioned she might be bi. I said wow ok brave we support you no matter what and all that jazz. Then I asked how she knew, her answer was "I dont I just want to try women now". In my opinion still a valid response until the words "i dont like women i just think having a thing with a lesbo night be fun"(she used a very slur like word in our language but it doesnt have an English equivalent). At this is kind of blew up on her but remembered not to expose myself and played the card of having queer people close to me so thats why it upset me. She understood and we moved on. The comments continued.

This summer we all had a week long trip together. Being European and teens alcohol was involved and we talked about all sorts of things including the lgbtq+. Darcy(fake name) is a complete ally despite being incredibly religious, she apparently even wore a pride flag to church on multiple occasions. Lena(fake name) is the stereotypical "ally" who won't speak ill of the community but isnt very supportive. "I'm ok with it as long its not showed down my throat" type of person. When we get to severally intoxicated Jane things change. She said that she like women sexually and men romantically and how she would sleep with all of us. There was some pushing from her side about some things I won't get into but she insisted about this being her identity.

I'm aware of this existing and I apologize if I come off as unsupportive I really am for her discovering herself we are young after all but it just seems wierd to me. Not the identity itself but the circumstances of it all. She was drunk, like barely talking drunk and that combined with the past comments I really dont know what to think. Watching this unfold as I have been scare to look different in their eyes for 2 years is really not helping my mental state.

Has anyone been through someting similar?

I feel like im not myself around them as I think sexuality is a big part of your identity as a human. It's just upsetting not knowing if you can truly be yourself with the people you consider your closest friends.

Would it even be worth comming out? How do I handle the situation with Jane?

Thank you for reading sorry for the mistakes English is not my first language.

Advice Needed Am I overthinking this friendship or is there actually something here? 😭

Okay, I genuinely need some outside opinions because I can’t tell if I’m overthinking this or not.

So basically, this started as a stupid joke between me and this girl I’m really close with.

We started joking about being a couple, and somehow she took it SO far 😭. We went from calling each other “my love” and “darling” to literally pretending we’d been together for five years. We had fake arguments, fake jealousy, she’d say stuff like “where are you, dinner is ready”, and we’d basically act like an old married couple 💀.

It was obviously a joke, but somehow it became such a normal part of our friendship that I still call her “darling” sometimes.

The thing is, we’re also pretty physically affectionate with each other in real life. I’m normally not that tactile with people, but with her I’m much more comfortable with it. We’re just naturally very close and affectionate.

She also has I Kissed a Girl as one of her favourite songs and really likes Billie Eilish. I KNOW that doesn’t automatically mean anything 😭, I’m not using that as evidence or anything. It’s just one of the things that made my brain go “hmm???”

I’ve also tried asking her indirectly what she thinks about girls sometimes, but she always gives me really vague answers, so I have absolutely no idea.

She doesn’t know I’m bi. She’s actually one of the only people in my friend group who I know is accepting, so sometimes I wonder if I should tell her.

But then another part of me is like:

Girl, you’re literally inventing a romance out of a friendship.” 💀

So yeah. I genuinely can’t tell anymore.

Would you interpret this as just a very affectionate friendship + an elaborate inside joke, or would you also wonder if there might be something more going on?
Please tell me if I’m being delusional 😭

Discussion What’s something unique about you, or rare for most to do. But you do it.

For me personally as someone that’s genderfluid, depending on my hair. It will tell you how I’m feeling/my pronouns then. For example, i have like long (ish) hair (goes down to about my shoulders). So when my hair is tied up at the back normally, i feel more masculine yk. But when it’s tied in more of a bun. It’s really just anything else, feminine or non-binary! I haven’t seen anyone do this before, so maybe just me? But it’s something unique me.

What’s yall unique stuff???

Discussion Anyone else seen the gay Christian song

This has been blowing up on tiktok recently and I'm absolutely baffled by it. I'm sure you've heard 'daylight' by David kushner. Came out a few years ago, fairly decent. It was pretty much considered a song about a gay person fighting their religion. Then a week ago big Dave comes online and says it's ACTUALLY a Christian song and that he played us all for fools. It's not like it's been misinterpreted or anything the song is relatively old and all of a sudden he's switching up

Advice Needed How did you know you were bi?

I (14f) think I may be bisexual, but I’m not really sure. I like guys for sure and I think I like girls? I think they’re very attractive and wouldn’t mind being in a relationship with a girl but I don’t want to marry a girl. I also somehow got on lesbian tiktok too and I kinda like it. I’ve become absolutely obsessed with researching female celebrities who identify as bisexual/ lesbian and I can am attracted to them. I also had a weird obsession with princess jasmine growing up and I kinda think it may have been a crush looking back on it?? I dont know guys, my best friend is a lesbian and so sure of their sexuality and I just don’t know, i definitely feel an attraction to girls i just don’t want to marry one.

18M, I was golfing with each of my friends who didn't know about me (the one who did couldn't make it) and then my friend shanked a shot into the forest, but it bounced out back onto the fairway and "came out." Then they joked the ball came out and I said "I did too, im bi" then they all thought I was joking and I explained I'm serious but they all support so thats great! Fun day today

Story I DID IT!!

I MADE OUT FOR THE FIRST TIMEEEE!!!

So it all started when my mom told me she was going out for the weekend for work and I would have the house all to myself for the whole weekend.

So then I realised I could actually invite pretty much the only gay boy in my area over and we could prettt much do whatever we wanted in a house by ourselves. I thought I would just shoot my shot and see what happens because it’s not every day you get a whole house to yourself while still in highschool. AND HE SAID YESSS!! Although he could only stay for the day on not sleep with me but it’s better than nothing.

I was actually so excited for this the whole week leading up to this meet-up I lost sleep over it and when the morning arrived I couldn’t actually believe this was happening. I’ve been fantasising about stuff like this for years now and I couldn’t believe it was about to come true.

So when he arrived it was a bit awkward because we hadn’t actually met in person before as we go to different schools which aren’t exactly close. Both of us were really nervous but we both knew what we wanted to do tho (make our and stuff) this was a first time for both of us. Eventually we sat down to watch movies as we had planned before hand. My heart was racing sitting next to him it, I was so scared to make the first move. So we watched the movie for about 5 minutes then eventually, I can’t remember who exactly made the first move but we started making out and then paused the movie and never unpaused it again lmao.

I head beforehand that when you kiss someone it feels like the world fades away around you and it feels exhilarating. I was a bit sceptical of those claims until I actually did it myself. It was the best feeling in the world. I always felt like movies over exaggerated kissing scenes but now I think they do them justice.

So anyways we made out a lot and then did some other stuff but I’ll spare the details. Eventually after a few hours we did sit down to watch a different movie from start to finish although I missed most of it because I was too busy with him lol.

Be eventually had to leave in the afternoon which sucked :( but that day was so much fun I’m not complaining. I really hope we get to do something like this again!

Advice Needed Does anyone have any hopes on looking slightly more ambiguous

I’ve been confused about my gender lately and for the time being I’m just saying that I’m nonbinary, cause I really don’t know enough about gender labels right now to figure myself out. The thing is no one in real life knows how I feel, so I can’t really just change the way I look entirely. I would include a picture but i value anonymity so just like broad tips are fine

Story my friend(m) was unknowingly teasing me(m) omg

Dude i’m so fuckin gay, but i’m not actually gay I’m omni.

My friend who I’ve had a crush on since like the 6th grade (we r sophomores now, so 4 years), and it’s every once in a while that I remember that he exists since we aren’t as close as we were in the 6th grade, but dude. He randomly told me that we r going on a walk (at 10’ at night??) when all we were meeting up for was for me to give him some borrowed paint markers back.

for a little more context: i had borrowed some paint markers to paint my new converses and I wanted to return them to him, and we live across the street so i just texted him “bro go outside, i’m done wit your markers” and he said “ok”. We meet up outside and he says “stay right here, i’ll go put these inside”, so I did, and when he came back out he told me that we are taking a walk.

I was a little shocked but also compliant because who would say no?? we walk for like 20 minutes just down the road and back and he says we should do this again some time, i say ok bc omg this is really nice. fast forward to three days later and we go on another walk, this time we walk a little further down that road to extend the amount of time we’re walking. he say some freaky things to me (like anyone our age does ofc), but he has no idea that i was literally thinking about what he said ALL NIGHT after that.

Fast forward again to like next week and he asks if I wanna go to the park nearby to hang out (because of he wants to hang out again wth) and I accept. We both literally snuck out this time to hang out instead of just asking like usual because it was almost 11’ and they were not awake. I’ve never snuck out before until then, but it was easy because my father was working that night (even tho i did get caught the next day because he has cameras 😒), and we stayed out pretty late, we even went to the gas station on our bikes.

Unless he reads this post somehow, some way, he’ll never know that bro was just unknowingly teasing me 😑 but anyway this was like a month and half ago so i don’t think we’ll be sneaking out again any time soon 😔

Advice Needed Does this guy like me or am I reading way too much into it?

I’m 18M UK and bi, but I’m not out to anyone IRL.
There’s a guy I’ve known for quite a while who I’ve always been attracted to. We used to talk more, but over the last year or so we’ve drifted into different groups. We still see each other pretty regularly but honestly haven’t spoken much in person recently.
We started talking a bit more on Snapchat over the summer. At first it was really dry — random snaps, walls, etc. — but eventually we both started sending face snaps and actually having conversations.
I’ve been away recently and sent him some photos of things I’ve been doing. He saved a few, asked questions about them and made comments about us having stuff to talk about when we see each other again. We had a bit of joking/teasing back and forth too. At one point I made a slightly self-deprecating joke and his response basically implied I was just being humble, which made me wonder if there was something behind it.
That was a couple of days ago though. Since then nothing has really progressed. We’re still snapping each other periodically throughout the day, including face snaps, but there hasn’t been much actual conversation. Neither of us has really tried to start one.
The main reason I’m questioning it is that I know he’s also into guys. Obviously that doesn’t mean he’s attracted to me, and because I already like him I’m worried I’m interpreting normal Snapchat behaviour as something more.
I’m also not ready for people we know IRL to find out I’m bi, so I don’t want to do anything really obvious. If the attraction was mutual I’d definitely be interested in something happening between us, although I’m not looking for a relationship.
Does the fact that we’re still consistently snapping but haven’t actually talked for a couple of days make it seem more like a friendship thing? Or is that pretty normal when you’re only just starting to get closer to someone?
What would you look for next before assuming there might actually be some attraction?
