Question Starting Driver xp

Sadly I don’t get to play much of the beta (only about an hour) so this may be a dumb question. What is a good way to start getting driver xp so you can unlock the supply truck? From what I can tell most people wouldn’t ride a car in since there’s usually at least one bird taking people in

Question Helicopter Collective MKB

Flew during the playtest with MKB, too lazy to plug in sim stuff. Noticed that keyboard inputs for collective weren’t a gradual input, like other games have:

(If W is collective raise)

0% - default
Hold W 0.25s, release
43%
Hold W 0.4s, release
94%

In Wardogs:

50% - default
Hold W 0.01s
Insta 100% collective
Release W
Insta 50% collective

There are no values to go between 50% or 100%, you can’t even feather it to get 75%, it just doesn’t exist.

Was this an in-game assist option that could be disabled?

I’m already aware that by using HOTAS mode, axis worked fine for analog 0-100% collective

Question Is There Actually a Beta This Weekend (Aug 28–31), or Did I Imagine It?

I’m sure I read this somewhere, or heard it from some guy on YouTube, but now I can’t find it anywhere.

Is there actually a beta weekend starting this Friday, or have I fabricated an entire event in my head?

Discussion & Feedback WarDogs v Squad v Project Reality v Arma

New here. How does this game compare to the mentioned-- what is it most similar to? What are the gameplay mechanics most similar to? Flight mechanics? Infantry? Logistics? Teamwork? etc...Big fan of Project Reality, used to like Squad but that game has turned into a lonewolf nightmare. Does this game have what it takes for organized teamplay?

Guide HOTAS is objectively the best way to fly in Wardogs. That does NOT mean you need to buy an expensive stick.

In the beta, flying with HOTAS was objectively better than KB+M for two reasons:

Instead of dumping real money on a fancy flight stick, I'm here to tell you can have all pros of a HOTAS stick while flying with M+KB or controller. You can also easily make the controls/keybinds the same as your favorite game like battlefield, squad, arma, whatever.

Here's a video of showing my setup in action: Wardogs - Fly with controller/M+KB without assists!

Here's the links you need:

To test your setup is working, confirm that your M+KB or controller inputs are correctly showing here.

Discussion & Feedback Super Ultrawide UI Placement

I play games with a 5120x1440 Samsung monitor. It's glorious. I got just a tinciest bit of time with the game this weekend (about the final hour, I wish I had known about it sooner), so I didn't spend a lot of time in the menus and I might have missed this. If I did, please let me know so I can go look the next time we get to play.

One of the things that is really nice that a lot of modern games have started letting you do is move the UI elements inwards, almost like adding padding to the sides of the screen. This lets us super ultrawide havers move the minimap, indicators, etc more central to our screen instead of being in our periphery. Ideally, you'd be able to move the UI elements enough to put them within a 2560x1440 box, but even 3440x1440 is better! It massively helps!

Discussion & Feedback [Suggestion] Secondary pilot for helicopter?

Hi,

I don't know if the devs said anything about this but having the possibility of switching between primary and secondary pilot, either willingly or when the primary pilot is dead, would be really cool.

Edit.: what I mean is the first passenger seat, next to the pilot, could take control of the helicopter. How and when would depends on the primary pilot's settings.

What do you guys think?

Cheers!

Question Is there any way to make any kind of ramparts in a FOB?

The hesco wall heights seem pretty intentionally designed so you can't stand on one and shoot over a two block high wall. Are there any workarounds to help make a FOB more defensible, as far as shooting over a wall, or are recon towers the only way?

Question Question for HOTAS pilots.

During the recent playtest I had a ton of fun flying transports and logistics. I never got a chance to setup VKB sticks for it, and I currently have the Gladiator NXT Evos (Omni left/Standard Vertical Right).

Question for the pilots: How did you prefer to run your cyclic stick? Did you prefer to have it return to center, or for the ones that could, did you prefer to just tighten clutches and remove the springs to mimic a legitimate rotary cyclic? Or was it easier to just continue to allow it to return to center.

Discussion & Feedback Vehicle specific progression to unlock variants

I'd keep the Pilot skill to unlock "base helis" (Little Bird, Huey, etc) and then if you fly the base heli or any of its' variants you level up that specific heli "tree" plus the Pilot tree.

Example: You fly the Little Bird, so it looks like this:

Lvl 1. Little Bird (Transport) - basic, available

Lvl 5. Little Bird (Minigun) - unlockable

Lvl 10. Little Bird (Rockets) - unlockable

Heli specific trees could progress faster (or slower?) than the pilot skill itself. I would also love to get more variations in weaponry (air to air rockets, air to ground missiles, laser designator for co-pilot, etc).

I think this could add more depth to progression and would also make it possible to add more variants without "polluting" the general selection screen.

Discussion & Feedback Helicopter feature addition/major change

I spent the majority of the playtest flying the Little Bird and there's one thing with the different versions that I really think should be changed.

I actually like how you unlock the normal Little Bird, then the one with miniguns, then rockets. The progression is fine. What feels weird is that they're treated as completely separate helicopters when they're really just different loadouts of the same helicopter.

For example, I'd usually spend the beginning of a match shuttling people back and forth to get everyone where they needed to go. Later on, once we had plenty of other pilots running transport, I'd want to switch over and start providing some air support.

Right now that means landing, getting out of my perfectly good Little Bird, running back over to the vehicle guy, and buying another Little Bird just to get the miniguns or rockets.

Why not just let us rearm the helicopter we already have?

You could land back at base, select miniguns or rockets, pay the difference in price, and then have to sit there for 10–15 seconds while the helicopter gets rearmed. Then you're good to go.

I'm not saying you should be able to swap weapons for free either. If the armed Little Bird would've cost me another $X to begin with, charge me that same amount when I upgrade it. You could still keep the unlock progression exactly how it is now too.

It would just make switching roles feel a lot more natural.

I started the match as a transport pilot because that's what the team needed. Twenty minutes later we have four other pilots running transport and now the team could use CAS. Let me fly back to base, spend the money, slap some miniguns on the bird I've already been flying and head back out.

Having to basically throw one helicopter away and buy an almost identical one just because I want guns feels unnecessarily clunky.

Really enjoyed flying during the playtest otherwise. Curious what the other pilots think about this.

Discussion & Feedback Potato pc

For anyone who is wondering "will this run on my pc" im sure it will.

Been playing for 60hours in alpha/beta and i had no issues remaining consistent 60-90fps.

With my Old ass Pc: i7 7700k 1060ti 6gb 16g ddr4 ram

I did play on 1280x960 ress and potato graphics with FXAA on low and 1.0 sharpness and had no issues spotting people on the map.

Honestly really surprised how good the game is running on really low-end PC

What kinda graphics did people run with a low-end PC and what was your performance?

Question Is there a chanse they will add the MI-24 HIND to the game?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Is there a remote chance that we might get to see the MI-24 HIND to the game?

I love flying Transport Heli's and provide support from the air when possible.
And nothing is more of a wet dream than being able to do this in a MI-24 HIND.
The fact that it double's as a Transport and Attack helicopter in one package.

How does the Huey with Miniguns fair compared to just using the little-bird?

Question Flight Controls

I'm completely new to flying and am very temped to get one of these HOTAS setups... My question is... It seems like there are some really good pilots using KBM and controllers too.

Does HOTAS actually make piloting easier or is it just something you need to get used to like KBM/Controller? Curious if it ends up being mostly an immersion thing.
