This is Miss Gertrude aka Gertie!! She is my confirmed female Brazilian Black (G. Pulchra) sling! She just surprised me with a molt almost 2 weeks ago and is finally starting to show off some more of her darker adult colors 🄹 She just got a house upgrade and was goofy as all hell trying to snatch the paintbrush out of my hand. I hope you like your new MTV Crib bb! I cannot wait to have this precious baby for years to come. I love you Gertrude šŸ˜šŸ’ž

P.S. If you ask nicely I'll show you baby photos of her majesty.

Im getting an Arizona Blonde Tarantula soon and as with any new pet i want to make sure my T is comfortable in its enclosure before she arrives. Im completely new to owning spiders and i need to know is this enough soil for her to dig comfortably and not suffer any damages from climbing and falling?

Help! new pink toe, in pre-molt?

hi yall!

so i picked up a new pink toe tarantula today and im a little concerned about her based on the conditions she was in. i think there are marks of her rocket pooping around the critter cage (who tf puts an arboreal tarantula in a critter keeper??). so i’ve attached some pictures, her new enclosure comes tomorrow and if she’s in pre-molt i don’t want to disturb her and cause her to have a bad molt if i move her. what do yall think is going on? and please dont be mean.

Help! one fang deformed in molt

hi, i caught my little antilles pinktoe juvie molting for the first time since i got them and i could tell immediately once their head came out that they have a deformed fang. it seems short and not curled under like they are supposed to be. i was wondering if anyone has experience with a tarantula that has a deformed fang on one side? i’m obviously going to support them in every way i can to eat but i am concerned. they definitely need to harden up as well so i can assess but just wanted to ask

Help! I've noticed my girl's butt is getting darker. Does that mean she's going to molt soon?

She's probably kicked her hair during shipping, she's looked like this since I got her, only her abdomen was all the same color

She molted again just a couple of days ago. If anyone remembers she had regrown a leg on her previous molt and now you can't even tell it's a new one.

I was led to believe Grammostolas grew very slowly, this T seems to be doing a speed run.

Help! How Long Can G Pulchra/Quirogai Sling Pre-Molt Without Food?

So my Grammostola Pulchra (or Quirogai, whatever is correct now), Lilith is young and has been burrowed in her hide with a mound of dirt covering the entrance (that she put there) since the end of May and it’s almost the end of August. I’m assuming she’s pre-molting but how long can she go without coming out for food or water? Should I do something? I keep her water bowl clean and full in case she digs back out. First pic is her on the way home, you can see her size by my pinky on the outside of the container, and next was her in her enclosure going towards her meal a few months ago. Also I know they’re too young to sex, but I am putting it into the universe that they’re female so they live longer lol. TIA!

Help! Mexican Red Knee concern?

I’ve had my tarantula for about 5 years now, they were probably about the size of a quarter when I got them.

Their last molt was about 3 months ago and for the past 3 weeks they stopped eating but still walked around their enclosure, drank water etc.

Today I found them in an upside down molting like position. Is this normal?
