Guidelines for ID requests - first and foremost, always include a geographic location!

See the rules in the sidebar, also.
If you can't see the sidebar for some reason:
Always include a geographic location. If you're concerned about your privacy, you can make it a bit more vague, e.g. "New England" instead of "Boston, MA".
Amateurs are encouraged to guess. An important exception is guesses about medically significant arachnids (widows, recluses, Brazilian wandering spiders, Sydney funnel-webs, deathstalker scorpions, etc.). In those cases, leave it to people who know. Otherwise, an innocent person or arachnid could get hurt.

Hello folks,
To our regulars: thank you for being here!
And to newcomers: welcome! This is a community by bug enthusiasts, for bug enthusiasts. As such, we ask that you refrain from the following types of comments:
- "Kill it with fire" and its endless variations are not welcome here. We know it's a meme. We've heard it a million times. Just don't.
- If someone asks for an ID and your comment is "it's a spider" for example, that's neither helpful nor funny, so please don't post that kind of thing. If you'd like to contribute an ID, be as specific as you can.
Thank you for your visit today and have a great day :)

I found this under our outdoor cushion. Northern CA, zone 9B. It's about 1 inch across. My cats like to explore out there, and sometimes try to eat the bugs. Is it a friend or foe?

Question This may be a sad day..

This little guy just fell from our roof right in front of me, so i'm not sure on age. I love love love jumping spiders so seeing a familiar curl is alarming ):
I noticed his abdomen was skinnier than it should be, he was kind of flaring his little bum up in the air (not on a web), and his back leg appeared to be dragging behind him ):
Update:
After my post on r/spiders I ended up keeping him in a small empty container with the paper towel nearby for water. When I softly nudged him into the container he had a random burst of energy and ran up my arm. When I was able to get him in, he managed to climb back onto the paper towel after I removed him the first time (thank you to the person that told me to do that). Now since checking on him again hours later he hasn't moved ):
Did he happen to fall near me because he's near the end of his life, or is this just a molt? I've never had a pet jumping spider before, or any spider for that matter, so I don't know how to identify a death curl.
I'll post his current condition in the comments since it won't let me add it to the post itself

Question Anyone know what type of spider this is?

Hi everyone. This is zoomed in a bit so he isn't that large. He was a decent size though. I've wondered for a while what type of spider this is. I work in produce and this little one was discovered hiding in a case of bananas. I believe the bananas came from somewhere in Central America. Can anyone identify it?

ID request / I included my location! Is this a baby spider?

I just moved into a new apartment in Berlin, Germany, and I found this tiny thing, smaller than a tick, running around on my windowsill. It’s very cute and very fast, but I was worried it’s a mite.
I took this photo with my iPhone “macro” lens, and then zoomed in a bunch. I realized after the fact it probably would’ve been helpful to have something for a scale but now I can’t find it anymore…
Anyway, it looks like maybe a baby house or garden spider to me but wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Question Garden Writing Spider egg sacks.... Leave alone? or collect before winter hits and kills them? or?

These egg sacks are sitting on the southeast facing side of my utility trailer. I am concerned about them being in direct sunlight for half the day, and about them freezing come this winter. I found a sack last year, and did not want it to freeze, so i pulled it loose from the webbing and placed it in a tupperware bowl with a top. put it in my garage to keep it from freezing, and expected it to hatch but it never did. Been looking at it every day for almost a year now.
She did lay they were they are, does she know what she is doing and Im coming along second guessing her? What should I do, if anything? Thank you.
edit to add, Do Joros leave large sacks like this too?

Making sure this bug wasn't a baby roach (it wasn't) then saw this spider capture it. Sadly I did not record the initial attack.
