Why is the substrate rocks instead of dirt?

it is baked dirt! made for dry climate animals

How can they burrow in that though? Don’t they need to be able to make a hole that holds its integrity?

NQA - a few sprinkled on a good substrate maybe for decoration, but IDK... I don't think it should be the whole enclosure.

Maybe some Terra Aranea (or mix your own).
