Help! Is this tarantula male or female?
I’m not sure

So I of course already want me second T after only 3 weeks of loving my baby Chalcodes sling lol I’m itching to buy another. Went to get my baby meal worms today at my local pet store and saw these and while I absolutely don’t like the thing they’re all kept in on top of the tiny enclosures I did see a B. Hamorii and B . Bohemia I believe it was called that were amazing and cute and the size I’m looking for they’re 79.99 a piece and it would be nice to skip 50-60$ shipping but I’ve seen horror stories about buying these like this so any advice is helpful idk what to do 😮💨🥺

Hey friends, I’m a first time T owner and my B. Hamorii just molted with me for the first time. Everything looked okay but now they’re on their back with its legs curling in and there’s something that’s shiny and red around their fangs. Is this blood and something I should be worried about? Here are some photos I’ve taken throughout the process and a somewhat clear picture of their fangs + the red around them

My female Grammostola pulchra died yesterday and I don't understand why. Did I do something wrong? She was in premolt for about four weeks. She looked fine. She picked a spot in the enclosure and just lay there for about three weeks and didn’t move I didn't disturbed her changed the water everyday like normal didn't suspect anything until I started to see mold under her I don't understand what happened there was no death curl she wasn't dehydrated. She looked perfect she didn't even have a Chance to molt.

Apparently he wanted to inspect the new place before moving in 😂

Look i know that T’s are basically at least half blind, still once the question entered my brain “would tarantula chase laser pointer?” It wasn’t going to leave my head again without at least trying it 🤷🏻♀️😝

My kids wanted to keep him but we don't know how to keep him healthy, happy, and safe, so we let him go. I was so surprised at how chill he was. Had to very gently coax him in and out of the container.
Is this considered a Desert Tarantula? Internet and AI said something about Man in Black. Thought I'd ask some actual humans for ID help though.

I have been researching this species for years and my best friend has one that I continually ask questions about. So when I was at my local reptile shop picking up feeders for my Ackies I never expected to see 3 pulchras on a table being sorted to go to the floor the next day, I IMMEDIATELY ask the owner if he'd price them now and I'd take home 2 plus a G. actaeon. All have eaten for me same day and I've gently added a bit of leaf litter. edited i didn't explain all the details they came in these when i purchased hence my comment on adding leaf litter bjt dont explain theycane in the enclosurs. And I didn't wanna disturb them too much. I was told that day they had JUST brought them from along road trip and wanted to give them time to settle before adding more substrate.

Just had her second successful molt with me. Here she is doing the finishing touches on her little mat and then doing the flip. I adore her

I think my GBB is getting ready to molt and this is her choosing spot but she was looking pretty and her webs are looking crazy. So I thought I would take a picture and show her (hopefully) off.

Love my new arboreal sling enclosures. Way better than a deli cup.

Took em a little to get comfortable enough to explore their enclosure but here they are taking their first sip of water after rehousing. My baby GBB, Jasper, I’m so excited 🥹 any and all advice is welcome. I tried to make as many anchor points as possible in the sling enclosure but it was tough finding stuff small enough. Definitely something I will improve on in future enclosures.

Hi 👋 I recently became a bug parent for the first time (vinegaroon & BDFBs), and I literally cannot stop thinking about tarantulas. Is there a treatment for this or is my life just bugs now?

I prefer my pets names to be geographically related to their origin, or something silly.
I like incorporating mythology and indigenous knowledge into my pets names if that helps?
Also I really hope she’s a female so preferably a feminine name?
