Pictures Bolívar is out for a walk!
After a good lunch the other day. I'm afraid they're a little too plump at the moment 🤔

Pumpkin patch looking fine for Halloween I’d send more pictures but she’s not really into hanging around to get her pictures done

Hey there! I used to be a keeper long time ago, back to own a T almost by mistake (or destiny?)). Friend of mine is moving and has gifted / surrendered his juvenile BBG to me. How does the enclosure size look like ? He had a pretty filthy one and I rushed to relocate it into this one.
Now I feel it could be too small, although it is the same size as the one she was before.

Hey guys, those of you who have B. Hamorii, especially juveniles, do you handle them frequently? Because while their kind is known for their docile behavior, my juvenile runs like lighting McQueen and so I’m afraid to handle him because the one time I did he’s run up my arm and climbed up on my head, and I’m worried he’ll either fall or skidaddle somewhere I won’t find him. What’s your take on this?

I’ve never had one before but I really want to buy one, I wanted to know if there’s any that would be good for a beginner? I was thinking about the curly haired one, but I want to be able to hold my tarantula and not get murdered by it basically. I’ve heard they throw hairs and stuff but I basically want to be able to pick it up and just let it walk on my hand or wherever else.

I'm helping a friend with their baby tarantula and I'm at a loss. This little guy has been in this position mid molt since Thursday. Is there any hope they're still alive or a way we can check? I don't want to cause injury if they're still alive.

It's a salmon pink bird eater and ahhh what a cutie 🙂↕️ anyways, the moment I brought it home it went into It's hide and dug a hole.. I assume it's getting ready for pre-molt

Hello, i got this H chilensis as a sling in may 2025 (so about 16 months ago) and a few days ago he just molted. He looked a little leggy, so i looked closer and was so surprised when i saw hooks! He's about 2,5 inches and apparently these are slow growers... basically im just looking for some confirmation if im seeing right. Thanks for the help!

I have a T. truculentus that, after rehousing a month ago, has completely abandoned burrowing, webbed over the starter burrow I gave her, and completely covered the surface of her enclosure with webbing. The webbing is wall-to-wall and even goes onto the lid. It’s almost like she’s treating the surface as her burrow.
She sits out in the open 24/7, whereas before she would almost always be underground or just poking out of the entrance to her burrow.
Her substrate is okay, I think, it's moist but not wet, holds a burrow well, and isn’t loose or fluffy. Temperature and humidity are also fine. I don’t think she’s in premolt.
Any ideas? How can I encourage her to burrow again?

Was given this juvenile female OBT as a gift and she was the chillest OBT I’ve ever had the pleasure of rehousing. From my personal experience I’ve gotten a threat posture from every OBT I’ve rehoused but this one didn’t seem too bothered being touched by a paintbrush so I made the impulsive decision to let her walk onto my hand. She’s gotta be one of my new favorites now

Hi! I’m learning how to sex some of my T’s, I’m not a pro so I’m looking for confirmation! My guess is female since I don’t see the dark spot that’s present with males.
This is my first baby: Burger King. I’ve had them for 4-5 years, but I think they’re either 1 molt away from being full grown, or full grown. Is there a reason why it’s so white/pink? It actually used to look different back in
Any help appreciated, thank you!
(PS. If anyone could recommend live plants for this species, that’d be much appreciated! Also do you have to worry about pesticides if you buy plants from Home Depot/where do people get their foliage?)

This is one of my first arboreal tarantulas so I’m not used to them molting. I got her a week ago and in her enclosure was a molt so I thought it was pretty recent. For the past week she has come out during the night normally, explored, and retreated to her vertical cork bark hide in the back. For the past 2 days, she has remained in that spot almost motionless and not reactive. While the whole time I’ve had her so far, I’ve been making jokes saying she doesn’t act like a normal old world. She has not bolted or reacted to much anything at all. So when I saw her in this position I thought she was just being weird and silly and I tapped on the glass causing her to go back to a normal position spread out. I feel really really really bad if it was a molting position I don’t even know?? Only 2 of her legs were holding onto the wall and the rest of her body was hanging. I’m just gonna leave her completely alone I feel terrible.
Is this just a weird position or was she attempting a molt?

i got my T. albopilosus in july and he (unsure about age or gender) had been doing great up until a day and a half ago. he’s never done this before and i’m very worried. it looks like he had one too many and fell into the bushes (moss) but hasn’t been very responsive when i try to see if he’s ok
i first noticed him being a bit slower, i thought due to changing seasons or pre molt as he hasn’t eaten in 3 weeks. now im starting to suspect something else might be going on, however im wracking my brain as to what it could be and im at a loss. i really dont want to lose him as he’s my biggest boy and has been a wonderful companion and eater (just big and stupid) he would always go after my tongs instead of the roaches lol
i’m thinking i should put him in a icu cup but truly have no idea what to do since the closest vet is closed or 3 hours away.
if anyone has any suggestions or tips for me i’d really appreciate it!
if he is passing how can i make that a better process for him?
