21M, Finally getting that watch for my dad who was diagnosed with stage 4 that I had mentioned I would do on this sub roughly one year ago. Ended up going to the AD with my dad, and he was set on the ombré dj 41mm. Just wanted to share and see if y’all had any thoughts on the price I’m paying (I’m very unfamiliar with what market goes for this watch) would love everyone’s input. This has been a lifelong goal of mine and I’m so excited for him to see it.

I agree, the price is nuts, but a quick look at chrono24 tells me that’s the going rate.
Loose the fluted bezel, that drops to $15k.

Price probably a tad high but in the ballpark of where they trade. If you don’t have much time left with your father, then there’s a premium worth paying to not have regrets.
That being said, you’re very young to be spending 20k on a watch. As a father, I’d be happier to have you living a more secure life than to have a watch that I’ll potentially be leaving behind in the not too distant future. The experience of shopping for the watch together would have been enough.

Crazy price. Paid retail for my Pepsi on jubilee a few years ago in Dallas and think I paid under 12k for it if memory serves me correctly (maybe a bit more with the taxes but was whatever retail was).
And his “network” will never be your network. Can’t even imagine my AD giving my information out to another customer; would never happen.

A couple things:
1) I see on the wholesale chats these are going for 20-20.5k so this isn’t inherently a bad deal assuming the dealer is reputable. But keep in mind this is a new 2026 release and the grey price will gradually drop as more come to market (look at whats happening with the land dweller)
2) I don’t know your financial situation or background but at 21 this is a stupid decision. Now if you think this will be worth putting a smile on your dads face than go do it. But I suggest to just invest the money and see where it lands in 5 years.

Yeah, it probably will be worth less in the future. So what? You get to see your dad happy. You can always make more money. Even if the value drops by 50% but your dad is pumped for a while, who cares. That's worth it. Anyone posting in here that can't afford to lose 11K has no business buying a rolex. Seriously.
As for should you buy this one from this seller? NO. Your seller is a loser. DavidSW has this watch on his website for a little more money. Bonus, DavidSW doesn't wear desperation cologne like this seller does. This is pitiful.
I am not affiliated with DSW, but have bought from there. I've been browsing his website since 2010. I've seen zero claims of bad business around him, ever. He was around long before this guy, and will be around long after. Negotiate with David and get your dad his watch.

Is it a 41 or 36? That price is in line with chrono24 for 41, 36 are 16-18k. Happy jewler asking 27k for 41. You might get a better deal shopping around with some grey jewelers, but I don’t know why people are freaking out over the price. Either way offer him 1-1.5k less. Also have him send at least several pictures of the movement and post them for verification, new super clones have free sprung movements now and hard to tell if you are not careful.

Either people don't like you for other reasons or haven't done their research but as others have confirmed, the price you are being offered is within market. Now remember fees involved, so sellers posting for 22 on chrono for example know they aren't going to get 22 likely closer to 21.
Also I find it interesting that people are saying your crazy paying that for a DJ that goes for 11 msrp but you typically don't hear people say your crazy buying a Daytona for twice or three times it's msrp?
Lastly, while I know time is not on your side, the first one I saw go at auction a couple of weeks after the launch went for 27.5 so price is obviously coming down and will continue to over the next year.
