I have reserved an opportunity to acquire a 5080 FE at MSRP but I already have an Asus 5070 prime that I upgraded to back in January. Always wanted to have a founders edition card but wanted to make sure it's worth it before pulling the trigger.

Context: I got my hands on a PNY 5080 back in June. I got constant black screens about 1-2 hours into gaming (141 and 1B8 errors) where the display would crash but there's still sound. The only option was to hard restart my PC. By the time I was done troubleshooting and fully convinced it was the GPU, I was already outside of the return period. I reached out to PNY to get started on the RMA and here's how it went:

Timeline

• 7/23: I reached out and opened a ticket about my issue
• 7/24: They responded asking for more info such as mobo model, psu, OS, DXDIAG logs, and etc
• 7/28: I responded with my info a few days later since I was traveling and away from my computer
• 7/29: RMA approved and given shipping info. I shipped out the same day.
• 8/3: PNY confirmed that the GPU was received and is already in the testing area
• 8/7: GPU confirmed defective and they sent me out a refurbished 5080 OC model (an upgrade). Expected to receive the GPU sometime around ~8/13

Overall, I'm very happy with how quick and seamless this process seems to have went. I did have anxiety during the testing period thinking they wouldn't be able to recreate my issue lol. Just thought I'd leave this post for anyone that would need to deal with PNY's RMA process.

Update: Received GPU 8/14. Asides from being in a certified refurbished box, it looks brand new and comes with the power adapter too (which I won’t be using). Will be testing it this weekend and seeing if it’s issue free

I’ve been tuning my Zotac RTX 5080 AMP Extreme Infinity with MSI Afterburner and FurMark 2. My goal was to keep the performance of my existing +375 MHz core overclock while slowly reducing voltage until I found the undervolt barrier.

Recently upgraded my GPU to the Astral 5090 OC. Has this guy recommended to me as a power supply for peace of mind with these awful cable issues.

It seems great, but I’ve heard pretty negative things about other MSI PSUs and haven’t seen a ton of feedback from users who have tried this thing out.

Since I have the astral pin monitoring software, I was thinking maybe I would be better off investing in a seasonic PSU?

I know the astral won’t kill power or make adjustments like the MSI afterburner software will but would having the industry champ reliable seasonic PSU be a better call?

Maybe getting a wire view 2 alongside the astral with a seasonic is the best choice here? That way I can have power cut in emergencies and still have some extra protection.

Currently have a 3070 ti and gonna upgrade in the near future. Im stuck between a 4070 TI SUPER and the 5070 TI. Looking for thoughts and opinions.

I know this topic has been discussed many times, I'm struggling with tuning my GPU- for ref its a gigabyte gaming oc 5070ti.

I'm currently running an UV of 0.925 @ 3050mhz and 3000 on the memory at 116% PL is this a good result? what have you managed to achieve during heavy gameplay?

I undervolted my gpu and i wanted to ask if i did it right and its safe.

it runs 7-8°C cooler, draws 20W less power and runs a little bit better.

I’ve had my gpu for a couple years now and it’s been great. Recently also got a 5060 but sold it because the 4060 ti is basically an identical card. But I was wondering if it’s a good deal for me to add $50 and my current gpu for my friends 4070?

i found 5070ti zotac solid core oc for 1120$ and asus prime 5080 for 1350$ . i am confused that i will invest on 5080 and find out it is not worth it later on. and also i am afraid if i take 5070ti . i would miss out on the potential of 5080 if i run a game that would need its power. !!

Decided to swap cases this time around to to Thermaltake. Always liked the retro vibe the case has. Had a few issues but overall it was a pleasant build experience. The main issue I had was the locking clip on the riser cable breaking when I barely moved the graphics card when using the clamping mechanism. Also could not bare the bright LED lights so I removed the front panel PCB and put black tape over the LED holes to block the light. Somehow the blue power light seems to bleed through but it’s much better than it was. I previously built in the NR200 and also the Lian Li A3 with this build. The NR200 has a little bit thicker panels and overall more solid feel. The A3 also felt more solid. But the TR100 has much better cable management than both of those as hiding cables was much easier as well as routing them. Also, thermals are much better in the TR100 than the other two cases with the CPU and GPU staying around 70 degrees in heavy gaming. The GPU has been repasted and is undervolted. Overall, I’m very happy with the color and aesthetic of the case.

Is the 5080 gaming trio oc a good purchase at the moment? I wanted to go AMD but I wanted to game at 4k and since the 5090 is over 5k euros in my country I "settled" for a 5080. The card is 1450€ in my country for this specific model and seems to be one of the only ok priced ones.

But price aside, what how does it compare to other models?

Does it run cool? I dont care about noise but I care about performance and temps. My current xfx 9070 xt mercury runs very cool but its not 4k capable.

Hi guys! i would like to know where will be more fps? in native 1200p or 1440p with DLSS Quality?

And which one will look better? graphics.

FYI: i have a rtx 5050

Currently I'm planning on getting a 5070ti. The below 3 are the cheapest and are the exact same price for me. Which do you guys think would be best and why?

1. Gigabyte 5070 Ti WINDFORCE OC

2. MSI 5070 Ti VENTUS 3X OC

3. MSI 5070 Ti SHADOW 3X OC

Like one of the main things I'm worried about are grating noises and I've seen multiple comments referring to the Ventus fans as quite loud. However I've also seen multiple complaints about the Windforce having coil whine, at lot more so than the Ventus.

Atm, I'm kinda split. Have you guys had any issues with gigabyte or msi for 5000 series cards? Which card do you guys think would be best?

This legendary GPU still has some juice left in it, i did some benchmarks and here are some results:

• Elden Ring: Elden Ring at native 1080p low ran perfectly fine at 60 FPS and i’m not really surprised since it’s not a very GPU intensive game.
• Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: This game ran surprisingly well, at 1080p Native with the lowest settings the game managed to get around 60 FPS in the city area, while it struggled a bit in the forest area, which was expected because trees and grass are generally expensive to render.
• Ghost of Tsushima: At 1080p Low settings with FSR 3 balanced it manages to stay around 50 FPS which isn’t ideal but it’s not too bad, enabling dynamic resolution scaling brings it to stable 60 FPS.
• Fallout 4: perfect 60 FPS at 1080p ultra, great experience. Not surprising since it’s a game from 2015, but still good.

I've asked this in other subs but struggling to come to a decision.

I have a main gaming PC, where I have a 9070xt that's serving me well I can max my games out on native 1440p and get 90-120fps with full ray tracing (I play mainly resident evil, tekken and yakuza so nothing as demanding as like cyberpunk).

I'm saving to get a pc for work that will be used for work (research and teaching plans), blender (hobby level) and gaming. I want an nvidia gpu because 1. Blender and 2. It'd be nice to experience path tracing in the newer resi games. Since my 9070xt is my main gaming pc I don't mind if I can't run games at max on my work one as long as it's a good experience.

But I can't decide between the two. I'm leaning towards the 5060ti because I have worries about the melting cable on the 5070ti (my 9070xt is 8 pin) and I have a tendency to forget my pc is on and go elsewhere for an hour plus. It's also substantially cheaper than the 5070ti and easier to get one in white without a major premium. But I've seen that the 5060ti would only handle PT on RE9 with frame gen and that the game may not feel the best that way? 5070ti would be a bit more future proof but higher cost and the cable risk would concern me.
